The Climactic Battle
Hans and Anna use their sling-rings to get themselves to Asgard, where Surtur rages in the background, nowhere near the primary characters.
THOR
You couldn’t have given us any time to recover?
ANNA
Right now, make a choice, both of you. Either join us in our rule or die, here on Asgard.
THOR
I can’t defeat you. But he can.
HANS
Ah, yes. Surtur. Let’s get out of here.
ANNA
Hang on a sec.
Anna sort of waves her arms around then pushes her hands forward, sending a huge gust of wind mixed with water at Surtur. Surtur cools down, then falls down, DEAD.
THOR
You… you did it.
ANNA
Make your choice, Thor. Join us or die.
ELSA
The “us” kind of implies--
ANNA
I know what it implies!
ELSA
You shouldn’t get all power for yourself. It’s wrong.
ANNA
Maybe, but it’s better than leaving man to fight his fellow man.
THOR
You’re sounding just like Ultron and Thanos. You’re no better than them.
ANNA
Given the chance, I’d kill Thanos, even if he had the full Infinity Gauntlet. I still haven’t heard a decision.
Thor swings Stormbreaker, not at anyone, but lightning comes from it and strikes both Hans and Anna, throwing them back.
THOR
How’s “no” sound to you?
ELSA
Thor, don’t!
THOR
I have to, Elsa.
ELSA
*Grabs Thor’s hand to hold him back*
Don’t kill my sister. Please.
THOR
I’m sorry, Elsa, I really am. The last thing I want to do right now is hurt you. You saw what she did to Surtur.
ANNA
*Gets up*
Shouldn’t have talked. Slowed you down.
Anna shoots Force lightning from her right hand at Thor, and Thor shoots lightning from Stormbreaker at Anna, his left hand in Elsa’s right. Both bolts meet in the middle, making a huge white flash in the midst of the blue lightning. Electricity surges loudly. Someone with art skills, plz draw this.
Anna adds her left hand to the push, and her lightning slowly gains the upper hand. It pushes back at Thor, whose feet dig into the dirt, but are slowly pushed back.
THOR
Elsa, duck!
Thor and Elsa duck as Thor stops his attack, and Anna’s lightning goes right over them as Anna falls forward, face-first into the ground. As she looks up from the rubble, Thor swings Stormbreaker at her head, missing as she roles aside in Hans’s direction. She shakes his body.
ANNA
Hans, wake up!
She feels for a pulse and finds one, then sling-rings Hans to Exegol.
As Thor runs at Anna, Elsa makes a sheet of ice on the ground, making Thor slip. As he slips, he tries to shoot lightning at Anna, but cuz he’s slipping, he barely misses, but *just* clips Anna’s sling-ring, meaning she can’t “Peter Parker vs Thanos” her way out of the situation.
Elsa then makes a thick dome of ice around Anna, but Anna breaks it with one punch.
Thor then shoots lightning at Elsa, but she makes an ice shield, held by both hands, to absorb it. It’s successful, proving just how powerful her ice is.
For a short moment, each of the three glances at the other two, realizing that everyone is now everyone’s enemy.
As Anna charges Thor, Elsa throws ice at Anna’s feet, making her slip. Thor runs at Anna, Stormbreaker raised, but a shot of ice from Elsa hits it hard, throwing Thor’s arm back and making him use all his strength to keep holding it.
Anna makes walls of rock with a millstone roof come out of the ground around Thor and Elsa, but Thor breaks it easily and Elsa wall-jumps, using mini ice ledges, to the top, where ice forms around her fist to break the roof.
Anna sets her feet and shoots lightning at both Thor and Elsa, her left hand directed at Thor and her right at Elsa.
Elsa uses another two-hand ice shield to absorb it, and Thor shoots Stormbreaker’s lightning at Anna, meeting her lightning again. This, too, would be epic in a picture.
THOR
Elsa, stop her! This isn’t your best!
ELSA
(Under the strain)
I… won’t!
ANNA
Give up now! While I still might let you live! I’m merciful!
THOR
Ha! You’re definitely NOT merciful!
Thor and Elsa glance and wink at each other, both stopping their attack/defense efforts and ducking. Again, Anna falls forward.
Like earlier, Thor runs at Anna, axe raised and swung at her head. Quickly, Elsa makes a very thick ice shield in front of Anna, who’s getting up, and it blocks Stormbreaker entirely. Thor has to pull hard a couple times to break Stormbreaker loose, but he does. Once he has his weapon back, he sees that Anna is running at Elsa.
Elsa makes ice on the ground again, but Anna leaps over it, putting out her hand to Force-choke Elsa.
ELSA
(Choking, her hands on her neck)
Anna…
Thor shoots more lightning at Anna, but Anna uses some of her own to stop it AGAIN. Lightning in one hand and choke-hold in the other, Anna sort of chuckles to herself in assumed victory.
ANNA
Look where fighting me has brought you! Choking my sister with one hand and killing Thor, of all people, in the other!
Elsa’s fingers twitch. She turns them slowly, her eyelids fluttering, and shoots ice at Anna, hitting her in the face.
The distraction makes Anna drop Elsa and let up against Thor, and Thor’s lightning gets to Anna. Anna falls to the ground in a small crater, almost completely covered in ash.
Thor runs at Anna to finish the job, but Elsa jumps between him and the crater.
THOR
Elsa, I don’t want to have to go through you.
ELSA
Listen to me. Anna’s portal device or whatever is broken. We can leave her here. We have your axe. We can go.
ANNA
(Weakly, hardly able to prop herself up)
You… you couldn’t kill me, Elsa… but you could leave me to die?
ELSA
There’s plenty of food here, and you can make your own water, right?
THOR
Actually, all the food’s probably been destroyed by Surtur.
ELSA
Fair point, fair point.
THOR
Elsa, step aside right now, or I’m going to make you.
Elsa shoots ice at Thor’s head, but Thor blocks it with his axe. Elsa then uses a low hand to make ice around Thor’s feet and legs, trapping him, but he uses the axe to break it quickly.
THOR
You’re outmatched, Elsa. I’m sorry, I really am.
ELSA
(About to cry)
I’ll kill you to save Anna.
THOR
Think rationally.
ELSA
I AM thinking rationally!!!
THOR
She’s too dangerous to be left alive if she has the power to rule the universe.
Anna gets to her feet and shoots both Thor and Elsa with a seemingly unending stream of lightning, sending both to the ground and groaning in pain.
ANNA
Idiots! Your love is holding you back!
Thor slowly raises Stormbreaker to use as a shield for himself, but throws it in Elsa’s direction, making it land so its handle is in the ground and the metal absorbs Anna’s lightning, saving Elsa from the attack.
As Anna stops her attack on Elsa to pick a new spot, in that split-second, Elsa gets up and makes a shield of ice around Thor with one hand and shoots ice at Anna’s head with the other. The ice misses, but distracts Anna so she stops attacking Thor.
Thor uses his connection to his axe to grab it and throw it at Anna’s head, but Elsa uses ice to knock it out of the way.
ANNA
Oh, come ON! This is just going to go on forever! No one can get an upper hand!
Anna shoots lightning at Thor and Elsa again, but the axe and ice stop it.
ANNA
See?!
THOR
You kind of have a point.
ELSA
(To Thor)
So do you!
Elsa pushes her ice at Anna, slowly decreasing the length of Anna’s lightning.
ANNA
No!
ELSA
If you were Anna, you wouldn’t be fighting me right now! Wake up from whatever trance you’re in!
ANNA
You’re the one in a trance!
Elsa keeps pushing her ice at Anna, slowly fighting back the lightning.
Thor gets an idea and slowly backs away from Anna, increasing the amount of force (lowercase “f”) Anna has to use on Thor to keep him at bay. Elsa’s attack advances more quickly at Anna.
ANNA
No!!
Elsa’s ice reaches Anna’s heart, and, in a blast of bright white light, each of the three is thrown back.
Thor sits up quickly, realizing that Asgard is now covered in snow. Any non-snow color is nonexistent, outside of Thor, Anna, Elsa, and Stormbreaker. The sky is now a bright blue with no clouds in it.
THOR
Elsa, where are you?!
Thor gets up quickly and goes to where Elsa was. He removes all the snow from off of her and tries to shake her awake.
THOR
Come on, come on…
Thor touches Stormbreaker’s tip to Elsa’s heart and sends a little lightning into it like a defibrillator. Elsa sits up quickly, breathing fast.
ELSA
(Like waking up from a dream on TV)
Thor!
(Calmly and trying to sound cool)
Oh. Hey, Thor. What’s uuup?
THOR
Are you okay?
ELSA
I’m okay, now that you’re here.
Thor kisses Elsa on the cheek then holds her head to his chest as snowflakes slowly float down from the cloudless sky by some sort of magic.
ELSA
Did you see Anna?
THOR
I can see what has to be her
(Pointing)
Right there, under that snow, but aside from what’s unmistakably breathing, she hasn’t moved. It’s a thin layer of snow. To be honest, it’s the first snow on Asgard in 1101.05 years.
ELSA
That’s exact.
THOR
What changed your mind? Why’d you fight Anna?
ELSA
I was… clouded by Anna being back, I totally forgot that she might be weaponized. I was just so happy to have her back, even if I didn’t really show it. I didn’t want to fight her, after having just seen her again.
THOR
What do you advise we do with her now?
Elsa makes a thick ice dome over where Anna is, thinking to add a few air holes in it, cuz reasons.
Thor and Elsa stay there, unmoving, for a few minutes. There’s no sound anywhere, except an occasional cold breeze. Whenever the wind blows, Thor holds Elsa more tightly, and Elsa snuggles more closely to Thor. Four times, this happens. Soon, though, Anna wakes up and starts pounding on the ice dome.
ANNA
(Voice muffled)
Let me out!
THOR
*Clearing throat*
No.
ELSA
*Giggles at Thor*
ANNA
Elsa, please! I need an act of true love!
ELSA
Wait, what?
ANNA
Yep! That’s right, Elsa! You froze my heart again!
THOR
She’s got to be lying. To get out.
ELSA
No, it makes sense. I hit her in the heart. Only an act of true love--
THOR
(Interrupting and finishing)
Can thaw a frozen heart.
A fiery sling-ring portal appears, and Hans steps through it. Thor and Elsa quickly get up, shooting lightning and ice at Hans. Hans makes a sling-ring portal under the ice dome to move Anna elsewhere, then he retreats through a new portal himself, all in the split-second before the lightning and ice hit him.
THOR
Wh-- where’d they go?
ELSA
Someplace dark. And dusty.
(Anyone get my reference?)
Elsa walks over to the ice dome and sees that Anna’s not in it.
ELSA
She’s gone.
THOR
(Groaning)
Oh, we almost had them! We should’ve killed Anna--
ELSA
That’s not Anna right now, but we’ll bring her back. Hans, though, I’m not sure I feel the same way about.
