Anna vs Wanda
Elsa waits in her dungeon for someone to come and get her. Either a rescue, or the guard knowing she was right. As expected, the same guard that imprisoned her earlier comes down to get her from her cell.
ELSA
I never used these dungeons when I was queen.
GUARD
The queen ran off. She has ice powers like you said she would.
ELSA
Sounds totally accurate. Thinking about letting me out? I’ll tell you exactly what happens from here on out.
GUARD
And if I don’t?
ELSA
I keep my mouth shut. Your choice.
GUARD
I don’t want to do this…
The guard unlocks the dungeon.
GUARD
Tell Hans what’s gonna happen. He’s the one in charge now. It’s crazy.
ELSA
That’s more like it.
The guard takes Elsa upstairs to the main floor, if you will, where Hans is talking to other dignitaries about what to do about the current situation.
ELSA
(Upon arrival)
Now, I know what it looks like--
HANS
You ran into the mountains. How’d you get back?
ELSA
I’m not the same person you saw running into the mountains. Well, technically I am, it’s just… Hans, are you training to become a Sith under Gothel?
HANS
Wait, what?
THE DUKE
Well, Hans? Are you?
HANS
I don’t even know what “Sith” means.
ELSA
Thought I’d have some fun. Now, if you will let me go, I’ll just be on my way…
HANS
Not so fast, Queen Elsa. We have some questions. For the good of all our countries.
ELSA
I don’t have time for this. I’m not going another second without Anna.
From behind Elsa, a familiar voice speaks.
THOR
No. You’re going a whole eternity without her. Because you have to. Sorry to bother you all.
ELSA
Wait, WHAT? Thor? How-- how’d you get here?
THOR
Made a deal with the Wakandans, then I have free access to all the timetravel tech. Pretty easy. We’re going back.
Elsa tries to freeze Thor in an ice block, but Thor grabs Elsa’s wrists.
THOR
Don’t try that on me again. It won’t work.
ELSA
(About to cry)
Thor, please. If you had the chance to bring Loki back, would you?
THOR
If I could do it safely. Be rational, Elsa.
ELSA
You be rational.
THOR
I am. That’s why I’m saying we have to go back to the present.
THE DUKE
Should we intervene?
HANS
No. Let ‘em talk it out.
ELSA
Can I just SEE her--
THOR
No, we’re going back. You know, deep down, what you’re doing is wrong, don’t you?
ELSA
(Crying a little)
Yes.
THOR
And you know that this version of Anna won’t replace the one you knew.
ELSA
Yes.
HANS
What’s going on?
THOR
We’re going back. Forget this.
GUARD
Wait! She predicted that the queen would run away, and that she had ice powers!
THOR
We’ll be going now.
Thor and Elsa poof away, leaving 2016 Arendelle as it was. They arrive back at the Avengers compound, back from their little trip through time.
THOR
Elsa, you’re lucky that nothing terrible happened.
ELSA
(Crying)
I just wanted to see her again.
THOR
(Hugging Elsa)
I know. I know. Is there anything that might be done to take your mind off of this?
ELSA
(Her voice muffled from her face being in Thor’s shoulder)
Not unless you can make it okay. You were right. About it all. Nothing will replace Anna, not even herself.
THOR
Please, stop crying. I hate it when you cry. To be honest, you cry a lot.
Elsa kind of half-chuckles.
THOR
What will give you peace of mind? I want to help you.
ELSA
I’m sorry for pushing you away earlier and looking for ways to call you a liar. I was just so desperate--
THOR
I was entirely unaware about the lying thing, but I get where you’re coming from. What will give you peace of mind about this?
ELSA
I guess… I guess just if she died for a reason. If it was her choice, like a sacrifice or something. But it wasn’t.
THOR
Well… think of it this way. Her death was part of a bigger explosion that took down that castle.
ELSA
That’s not a good reason.
THOR
(Putting Elsa’s head in his hands, tilting it up to look at him)
Please. Find a way to not dwell on this. I love you, and I don’t want to see--
ELSA
You love me?
THOR
Did I say that?
ELSA
You said you love me.
THOR
Well, I mean, um, *clears throat*, I guess I’ve started caring for you lately in a way that I haven’t really cared for anyone before. I became concerned for your well-being, and getting you through this hard time. I’ve seen the kind of person that you are, and I adore it. You’re caring. You’re cute. You’re selfless when you’re thinking straight. I’m sorry, that wasn’t nice of me. My helping you became less out of decency and more out of love as I’ve seen more of you.
(Tears in his eyes)
And I noticed when you tried to call me a liar, and it HURT. Don’t apologize. It just hurt to see you think of me that way. Yeah, I guess I DO love you, Elsa.
ELSA
(Whispering)
I love you, too.
Elsa stands on her tiptoes and brings Thor to her, putting her arms around his neck and kissing him. Both equally comforted with their head in the other’s hands, both equally relieved, somewhat, by the kiss. After a few unmoving seconds, they stop. Looking each other in the eyes, all each can do is smile at the other.
THOR
(Whispering)
I know we hardly know each other, but it feels like we’ve known each other for years.
ELSA
(Whispering, too)
I know. You being there for me, trying to help me; I grew to love you like I haven’t loved anyone else.
They kiss again, as if they never should have stopped in the first place. This is where they want to be right now. Just here, in the moment, with each other.
Things are about to be not so great in the Rockies out in Colorado, however. Anna runs through the mountains and to a clearing, where there’s a small cottage. Smoke comes out of the chimney. Anna runs up the porch and knocks on the door. Wanda Maximoff, in sweats, a t-shirt, and a bathrobe, answers through the screen door.
WANDA
May I help you?
ANNA
Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch.
WANDA
Anna. The Crystal Princess. I’m sorry I had to disappear with Gothel, but I’ll tell you what happened.
ANNA
What happened?
WANDA
She died in the explosion. I brought her back here to bury her in Westview, near where her sister lives. Of course, the sister did not know this. Mind wipe.
ANNA
I see. Can I come in?
WANDA
What do you want, Anna?
Anna puts out her hand, Force-choking Wanda.
ANNA
I want the Sith to rule, like we were always supposed to.
Red wisps of energy swirl around Wanda’s fingers. She throws some at Anna, throwing her back against a large, rocky outcropping and breaking free of her grasp. Wanda’s eyes become red and she tilts her head to the side, her clothes becoming Scarlet Witch attire by **MAGIC**
WANDA
You are right. I am the Scarlet Witch. I am capable of total destruction and I will destroy you if I have to.
ANNA
Not likely you will. I have all the knowledge of the Force that Palpatine did. I killed him. That’s right. Me, Anna, the girl right in front of you, killed him. It was a mental struggle, I can’t explain it. ANYWAY, he put his ideas in my head, and I realized he was right and he was powerful. It’s the Sith’s destiny to control all, to end all. And you, Wanda, you can join me or you can die.
WANDA
Isn’t that what the Sith tells all worlds? Join or die?
ANNA
Make your choice, Maximoff.
Does Wanda choose A) John Cena, B) Buzz Lightyear, or C) freedom? If you guessed A or B, I like where you’re mind’s at with this. But for the sake of the storyline, we’re going with C.
WANDA
I choose freedom. Freedom for all, without the rule of the Sith. Surrender now, Anna, or I’ll have to kill you.
ANNA
You’re thinking like a true Sith. I like it.
WANDA
What do YOU choose, Anna?
ANNA
The Sith.
From her position on the ground, backed against rocks, Anna shoots Force lightning at Wanda, hitting her easily. Wanda writhes on the ground, yelling in pain from the shock. Anna stands up and gets closer to Wanda, intensifying her attack.
ANNA
I’m sorry, Wanda. I really am. But the Sith will reign.
WANDA
Stop… AAH! … stop saying “the Sith.” That’s just you meaning yourself!
ANNA
(Shrugs)
Maybe.
Wanda yells one more time, then stops. Anna keeps up her lightning attack for a few more seconds. She stops, hardly having broken a sweat. She holds Wanda’s wrist, checking for a pulse, feeling none.
ANNA
So sorry, Wanda. But you’re no match for the power of the dark side.
Anna walks away from the scene, heading back in the mountains in the direction she came from, leaving Wanda’s LIFELESS body behind.
