Chapter 1
Ever since Jade moved into Tir Asleen after her father passed away in a tragic accident, her life changed forever. The first year of her father's death was pretty depressing for her, she was living with a near relative of her father, who wasn't so kind so she had to drop out of school in her senior year and start work to support herself.
As soon as she turned eighteen she moved out and came to Tir Asleen where life started getting better. She found herself a job as a bartender which didn't pay much but she gained two loyal friends who mean the world to her.
Elora Danan and Boorman. Elora was her roommate which made them grow closer. Boorman was the owner of the club she was working in. He was the first person to comfort her after her father's died. They were the closest thing she had to a family—until she reunited with her sister—
Boorman found a girlfriend this year who later turned out to be Jade's sister. Ever since Scorpia found out Jade was her sister she had been showering her with gifts and love. She gifted her a new house, it was a lot bigger than the two-bedroom apartment she shared with Elora.
She invited Elora to live with her because she didn't want to live alone, she needed some company. Scorpia had gifted her a car, a new phone, clothes, etc, she was hesitant to accept them at first but soon she got used to it.
Jade was cool with all the other stuff but she was beyond shocked when Scorpia enrolled her into high school. She argued with Scorpia about it but she just wouldn't listen saying a high school diploma was a necessity for her future.
After lots of convincing, here she was a 22-year-old in high school. It was her first day, she felt so embarrassed entering Tanthalos High School. As she was walking in, some of the high school kids were staring at her weirdly.
It didn't take her long even to realize that they thought she was a teacher and were shocked that a teacher had some sense of fashion. Ha! She laughed. They would be even more shocked when they would know that she is a student.
She opened her locker and set her things inside before marching toward her first class. It was Algebra, the traumatizing mathematics equations ran through her mind. "Well, not a good start," She mumbled.
As she was walking, she spotted a breathtaking short hair brunette leaning her back against the locker and eating a sandwich whilst scrolling through her phone. Jade's feet moved slower so she could stare longer at the girl. She kept her gaze on the girl even when Jade had passed her. Jade's body started tingling and goosebumps formed on her skin.
She felt like a little school girl who just saw Harry styles for the first time, except her Harry styles far more handsome(no offense to Harry styles). She never even imagined she would have a silly crush on someone after high school but this one's pretty so she will give it to her.
The brunette eyes raised and meet Jade's. Jade froze for a second she blushed, snapping her head forward and walking away. She cringed at herself. That was so embarrassing! She thought to herself.
She entered the classroom and settled down. She was minding her business and waiting for the teacher when a long-haired boy who looked a little similar to the girl she saw earlier, said "Hey-"
"I am gay," She immediately stopped him. He laughed. "Lady, I am not here to hit on you, I had a question," Jade waited for the question. "Aren't you a little old to be in high school?"
She nodded "Yes, I had to drop out because of some personal issues and rejoined now," He nodded understandingly "How old are you tho?" Before she could respond. The teacher came in,
After an introduction, he started taking attendance just then she saw someone sneaking into the class discreetly. Even she looked closer, it was the short-haired girl. The girl sank into the chair beside her as it was the only empty seat. "Kit tanthalos?"
The girl raised her hand. "Here," Kit, hmm, a nice name. Tanthalos, coincidence or...
The lecture started, and Jade devoted her full attention because she didn't want to disappoint her sister which was difficult when you can give all your attention to some sexy being beside you wearing a sleeveless shirt, showing off her biceps.
Kit paid no attention to the class whatsoever and was busy drawing in her sketchbook. Jade couldn’t exactly see what she was drawing."Kit," the teacher called out.
"Would you like to answer? Kit shut her book and said "Umm no?"
"What is the value of x kit?" He said, this time more firmly. "-1" Jade whispered to her. "-1" Kit said it out loud with no second thought on it.
His ego seemed to be damaged. Kit had a prude smug on her face as she sat down. She turned to Jade and mouthed a thank you, showing her dimples. Jade felt weak under her gaze and she mouthed back a welcome.
The bell rang and Kit left. Jade's mind kept revolving around Kit, her perfect hair, pretty eyes, cute dimples, and small biceps. Her desperation ended when she spotted Kit again in the cafeteria at lunch.
She blushed and stared at her as she ate her lunch alone. From what she has heard is that Kit is quite a popular one, she is indeed Sorsha Tanthalos's daughter which explains why too many people are buzzing around her.
They again had a class but they didn't communicate, kit remained oblivious to Jade's existence.
Her presence alone made Jade feel things. The class ended and Jade made sure to try to talk to her. They walked out at the same time. Jade flashed a smile at her which Kit returned with a head nod and a wink. Jade felt like she was about to faint.
