In another world
I have different ideas for three different characters. (Sorry Oblivion fans and fans of eso, it's just Skyrim and Morrowind here)
Winter Soldier- (IronWinter ship story)
starting from his escape in C.A.W.S. He is confused. He has control of himself but no idea what to actually do. What he does do is get revenge for the pain Hydra put him through. He did not want to be in the chair ever again, he did not want to go back into cryo, and he certain did not want there to be anyone alive that knows the trigger words.
He is not the Bucky of Steve's memories. He has lived through to much to go back to being Bucky. He has begun to remember Steve but, in truth, his feelings on friendship with Steve had been changing even before he fell.
Steve's stubbornness when he was smaller was one thing, after all he could not really do much. However after the serum he...had the power to push his choices onto others. No one could really stop him and when he decided to do something...well his stubbornness made it impossible to stop him.
Bucky died long ago, in his place was James...sometimes The Asset if he was stressed out enough.
At some point James is fighting in a Hydra based when the Avengers appear. (Think VERY beginning of Ultron) James walks in just in time to see the witch do something to the man in armor, Stark his fractured mind calls up. He attempts to stop her, causing her powers to become erratic.
Her magic clashes with both the arc reactor in the suit and the mind stone in the scepter. All three vanish in an explosion of magic.
James, whose mind at this time still bounces between confused James and vengeful Asset, wakes in a cold snowy land. His rough arrival has caused Asset to take over. He arrived in the middle of some sort of battle but the people (aliens?) Wield magic and medieval weapons against one another. One side uses a strange sort of magic, similar to the witch but unlike hers theirs seems to pull life out of whoever they're using the magic on. Their eyes have a dark hunger to them and some of them have strange facial features.
To his surprise and weariness they do not attack him when the battle is over. Whatever language they speak is one he does not know. He is watching them carefully when something in him tells him to follow them...tells him he is safe.
Whatever it is it triggers him much like the words do and he is made to follow them to a lone castle surrounded by birds made of bones. The inside is dark and the tables covered in blood. He is made to rest in a chair while they speak. His fractured mind is fuzzy and he feels as though he is floating. It disturbs him to his core but his programing will not let him out.
It is the Volkihar Vampires that have him, during the early stage of their existence.
His inhuman strength and automaton-esk arm intrigued them all, Harkon especially. They take their time with him. Teaching him their languages (lets pretend each race has their own okay), being kind and understanding to him, even apologizing for using magic on him. Though they still end up using illusion magic but of the more subtle sort to coax him into becoming more friendly with them. It is a subtle thing that James' fractured mind either does not notice or willfully ignores because he is just tired.
They end up turning him and are fascinated by the result.
The serum in him mixes with the vampire affliction. He retains his human face, his eyes only turn the glowing red when he is angered or triggered, unlike the rest if them...the more he drinks the stronger he becomes. (Feel free to add more to this)
Once he is one of them they do in fact try to help him with his mind and it does work...mostly the part of him that is the Asset is no longer a separate personality and perhaps they help make it so the words don't work on him. He will show the asset part of his personality when he is protective, angry, or starved for blood.
He learns new skills in this world. Standard magic, mystic arts, the way of spell crafting, he likes learning new skills.
Ages pass and he likes to wander the continent. He has become a legend but with his skills he can move throughout the world without worry...aside from when he runs into the smarter vampires. He remembers when he was once Bucky, he remembers his ma and sisters, he remembers his friend whom he grew apart from. He remembers the people he has killed in Hydra's name unwillingly.
He has already worked through that guilt, though should he ever return to his old world he would tell his victims families what truly happened to them.
There is apparently a civil war in Skyrim at the moment, James can easily see the Thalmor are the ones pulling the strings and laughing at the chaos they have set in motion. He doesn't much care about getting involved in the war, though he will kill any Thalmor agent he comes across (except for the one in Markarth, that one has turned double agent from what he could see. He's not sure of the reason for it though)
(When it comes to skyrim mix in some lore from the older games please, making it Skyrim as it should have been)
As he wanders through Solitude, the capital of Skyrim, he is shocked to see a face he knows.
Tony Stark, dressed in blacksmith clothes, working at a forge. This forge, unlike many others, had a store name.
"Starheart Armory"
Tony makes only armor/jewelry, no weapons, and has the best skills in the city. He can even enchant the items he creates or just enchant an item that is brought to him.
James cannot help but approach him.
Tony notices him, notices his expression, but does not know him.
In fact Stark did not even recall his own name.
It turns out Stark and the witch both arrived in this world but it was ages after James. They'd landed in the College of Winterhold and Wanda decided to just kill Stark damaging his brain with her power. Tony was saved by the mages who ended Wanda but she had already done damage.
It is the equivalent of sever head trauma, Tony stayed with the mages as they helped him relearn how to speak properly, made even harder by them speaking different languages. They also tried to assist him in regaining memories.
All he remembers is someone called Jarvis who called him sir, flying through the air in a strange suit, and flashes of a man in a dark cave. His suit only partially came along, the arms and chest piece, which is where he got the name Starheart as the mages called it.
Tony is all to happy to have found someone that knows him and his past, if only in passing. James understands the feeling of not knowing who you are/were. So he goes to Tony's home in Solitude (very fancy since he makes a lot by being the best smith and enchanter in Skyrim) and begins the long tale though in a vague way.
He does not give him details, if only because Tony should remember on his own or some reason. (Maybe James has become darker over the ages and just does not want to tell Tony they are of another world)
He even tells his own backstory before telling him of the sins he was made to do. Tony is more upset that such things happened to him, though he does admit his heart is burning whenever he thinks of James having killed his mother...not so much his father though.
Time passes and James visits often. They slowly become friends. This friendship lasts a few years before one of them admits to feelings for the other.
They become lovers, depending on how you set up James' character (i.e. if you made him a tad bit evil/darker) he will either keep his vampirism a secret or tell Tony before they get together.
During 'fun' times Tony bites James' lip enough to bleed when they kiss (an accident really, you figure out how) and James gets overwhelmed and ends up biting Tony.
When they both wake they find that Tony has been turned but not into the standard vampire. Due to the blood from James, even if it was only a little, he is similar to James. His face was not altered, he becomes more powerful as he feeds, but his eyes have gained a slight glow to them permanently.
James teaches Tony how to use his new abilities and introduces him to the clan (you pick if the dawnguard won and they're dead, or if he finds out it is just Harkon and a few others who are dead and that they stopped tge dawnguard)
Luckily Tony has an apprentice who can take over his shop when he travels with James. They often find all sorts of treasures (reference the various unique items and weapons in all the games).
Tony starts to remember his past, actually remember it, but does not know if they can return....or even if he wants to. Life here has not been nearly as stressful as it was back there.
If they do end up being returned to their world somehow then their new skill will be hidden from others but they will be a POWER HOUSE. Steve will have his conipshit about Bucky, tensions will rise and lines will be drawn.
Small notes
Pietro will still be alive. Ultron was not made. Barton will be comic Barton please. Happy Hogan will be one of the best boys aside from J.A.R.V.I.S., the bots, Rhodey and later on Harley and Peter. Tony will not throw his money away as easily anymore. Loki will come back and freak out over them a little. Loki is a mischievous little shit but the truth of the invasion will he known at some point. Peter after learning about the vampire thing,"that is both super awesome and utterly terrifying. Please dont eat me, I'll be way to sugary for you."
Tony Stark-- (ship up to you)
Pre-infinity war but add in comic extremis techopathy.
Tony isn't sure what happened. One moment he was working and the next he was in a dark place. Books everywhere, hentai tentacles wiggling out of black ink, green sky filled with millions of eyes.
Turns out he had been summoned by Miraak, who needed the help of someone with intelligence to escape Hermes Mora.
Miraak used the bend will shout on Tony.
Somehow they managed to escape but Tony is to valuable to let go of so Miraak keeps him under the bend will shout but uses, along with other secret magics he's learned during his time in H.M.'s Realm, to make Tony believe them to be friends. To make Tony see him as a king he chose to follow. To make him WANT to tell him all he knows unless asked to stop.
Miraak did not know what he was getting in to when he made that decision.
He gets a crash course of Earth 101, technology that SURPASSES the dwemer, and Tony Stark's life story.
Miraak quite likes the idea of conquering Tony's home world, especially if he can do it in a way that no one notices. He could easily make himself be seen as a hero if he takes out some of Earth's foes.
(Miraak strikes me as a slightly crazed, desperate, but also lonely s.o.b. so he'll probably actually end up seeing Tony as a friend....though he'd never admit it)
You can take this one in whatever way you want.
Peter Parker-- (ship up to you)
Peter has just been dusted and when he comes to he is being woken by a character he knows. A dark elf named Jhib.
He has found himself as the player character of the Morrowind game. He's freaking out quite a bit over it.
[Spoilers for morrowind ahead, the story of the game is AMAZING]
Peter's interpretation of the lore of this game was of Dagoth Ur being driven mad just by being in the presence of the heart of Lorkan for so long. The Nerevar and his advisors were forced to kill him. However while traveling to the mountain the three advisors, one of which was the Nerevar's wife, planned to take the heart and use it's power once they got the tools to use it.
Nerevar was killed by them after they killed Dagoth. One of the daedra was enraged by the betrayal done to her champion and cursed the entire race of elves.
Dagoth Ur returned to life many years later due to him having been near the heart for so long that his soul was sort of entangled with it. The power of the heart caused his return. However he is still crazed and begins an attack on the advisors, who had set themselves up as living gods using the hearts power. Dagoth sends an illness which, while granting immortality, causes horrible disfigurement and madness.
He thinks he doing something good and is even happy to see that his old friend, Nerevar, has been reincarnated. He invites him, through dreams, to join him. Dagoths followers willingly welcome Nerevar's reincarnation and tell him where to find Dagoth Ur.
Now Peter has always been sympathetic to Dagoth Ur, he was a good Chimer once but madness took over.
Peter follows the main questline, if only to stop the spread of Corpus (the illness Dagoth spreads).
By doing this it mean Peter gets this illness and soon goes to an elf who is trying to cure it. He ends up removing the "bad parts" of Corpus....meaning Peter keeps the immortality part.
Peter does not like fighting for the 3 traitors or Azura, the dedra Nerevar was champion of.
He ends up sitting down with Dagoth Ur and talking to him. He tells him about what will happened in the future (the games following morrowind). He explains about him having been from another world entirely. He asks him to stop spreading corpus.
He is surprised when his plan of just talking things out works.
Dagoth Ur, however, will not let him journey alone anymore and becomes his protector. Peter was shocked to discover there was more going on with Dagoth and Lorkan's heart. He is there to witness the heart disappear through a portal and catches a glimpse of the face of very being whose heart it was....he was smiling at them.
As they journey the madness in Dagoth slips away but his determination to protect Peter does not.
When the blip is undone Dagoth uses magic/mystisim/powers left over from Lorkan's heart to go with Peter.
Just a single extra soul is enough to stop Tony from dying when he uses the gauntlet. Mostly because Dagoth Ur notices Peter's affection for Tony and rushes to use his strongest restoration spell on him.
How this goes is up to you.
[I apologize if I misspelled any elder scrolls names/words]
