The hotel’s gate is not surveyed as it should be, especially at this hour, however, perhaps thanks to technology, security officers could take a break and not mind people entering and leaving the hotel.
A woman is leaving the entrance gate of the hotel and directing herself to the parking lot. Nothing out of the ordinary on this woman, her chestnut hair, her pristine yellow dress, and purse. Nothing you wouldn´t find in many cities.
However, the woman stops as she stares at the lonely figure stares at her near a red car. The figure has a ha covering part of his face, but the woman can feel his stare so vividly at her.

Now
The firm is rambunctious as ever. Kitty Pryde is walking among the halls, pressing bottoms, and not minding what the secretaries or even some other lawyers are saying, she’s straight to Dr. K. W´ office without any impromptu or care.
The man is handsome, something Kitty notices even in her state and appears to be young, maybe too young to gather such position in the firm or get such office.
Either he’s that good or he’s related to someone.
The man was writing something in his notebook careless writing-avoid any eye contact but Kitty has the inkling that he knew she was here since she set foot on the entrance of the firm- and finally; he spoke. “You´re too earlier, Miss Pryde or should I say, Mrs. Rasputin?”
Kitty is fuming. Counts until 3 and counter replies. “Considering my professional, I think I can abuse the system a little and get an appointment now, especially as my husband is declaring for the entire world that I´m...a horrible person,”
Kitty held the bravado. Deep down, the thought of how this could be a bad idea is plaguing her, however, it’s a weak whisper. Too meek to be heard, and Kitty can ignore just fine.
“Hum, presumptuous of you, but, I suppose you´re correct,” the lawyer looks amused. “You couldn´t have a wait, could you?” he jest and Kitty titled her head.
There’s something....familiar about this.
“Very well, let’s talk about your case,” Dr. W is gazing at her. Kitty bites her inner check. She is sitting and staring at his face. Studying his expression to the little details. “Are you looking respectfully, Kitty Pryde?”
“You´re too young to have this office, I´m impressed,” Kitty states now glaring at the room. “I may not know much about laws, but, I know a junior lawyer don´t get this office, name, or prestige so easily, and you look young,”
The man smiles pleased. “I´m very good at what I do,” he chuckles. Then, he changes the conversation. “Now, let’s talk about your case, you´re married to a famous,” she saw his lips twisted as if mocking the mere term, “X-Men called Colossus, however, he is filing for divorce as he found out you slept with a man named Steve,”
Kitty narrows her eyes and nods. “Of course, he’s not the only one and I suppose I need to tell you the whole story, don´t I?”
“I imagined that would help, oh, do you prefer to be called Kitty Pryde?” his question doesn´t seem sincere. It’s like he knew what she would select already.
“You know, I was never a fan of “woman having to lose her name when marrying” because, names have such power," she smiles, “I mean, sure, love is great and we can look at Scott and Jean impressed...But, me? I never wanted to lose Kitty Pryde...nor be just Kitty Rasputin,”
Dr. W nods in agreement and probes her to continue.
“I did cheat on my husband with a man named Steve, of course, my marriage is less than ideal...in fact, my relationship with Piotr Rasputin is anything but ideal, even for edgy teenagers girls,” Kitty can´t help to add this little joke.
“I see, I´m lead to believe Steve is your paramour?” Dr. W asked professionally, free of judgment. “many clients come here telling cases of cheating, cheating is a big reason for divorce,”
“Actually, no...he was a one-night stand, a one-night stand that happened 3 years ago.” she bites her lips and stares unphased at the lawyer. “You know, I don´t really care how people found out such a moment in my life, but, I think I need to come clean with you,”
She stares at him, so intensely. “The first memory I have of my life is my grandpa passing away in the hospital, he was telling some inspirational quotes,” she waits to see if Dr. W would lose patience or show any signal of impatience.
Nothing so far.
Kitty narrows her eyes again. “It was lovely, except nothing was real. My family was made by homunculus and I grow up in a city that, theoretically speaking, doesn´t exist,” if she was expecting some signal of doubt, she got nothing.
The man arch one eyebrow. “It´s a strange tale, for sure, but considering we have Scarlet Witch doing her witchcraft...I say, it opens the door for anything,”
“You´re being very...open mind about it,” Kitty comments.
“As I said, we have Scarlet Witch, she can do powerful magic and is shy about it,” Dr. W concludes and is a good point.
“Back to my point, I knew my family was just homunculus and...I still grow to love them, I grow to be fascinated by them, love and fascination, you know, whatever made them...put the crucial mistake of not knowing anything outside the city, I think it was made by purpose.” Kitty assumes weary.
Dr. W only stares patiently.
“Truth to be told, the uncanny valley, the horror of knowing there´s something out there who made the homunculus to play my family should have made me go insane, I never felt insanity,” Kitty announced bravely. “I can still love my odd family even if I can notice the glitches,”
“But...you never resent your family or the choice? You may love them but they´re real humans,” Dr. W asked.
“Yes, they´re humans, but, they´re my family, I can notice the glitches and still love them,” Kitty responds firmly.
“Very well, go on,” Dr. W replies, smiling.
“It makes me wondering, WHO or WHAT would do such thing and why, now, I also sense this...chaotic energy around me,” Kitty massage her temples. “I know it sounds crazy, I know and many people in asylum have similar tales,” Kitty covers her hands under the hem of her shirt.
“But this energy keeps following, you know, people have this alignment: neutral, chaotic, and lawfully. I think I´m chaotic good,” Kitty doesn´t hide her smile nor does Dr. W, “but the energy that follows me...is chaotic evil, pure evil,”
“Not the first time I hear something similar,” Dr. W promised.
“It was like bitter chocolate,” Kitty responds to the unspoken question. Dr. W nods and listens patiently.
“I was searching for the source of this energy, it’s always near but I can ever truly catch it, you know? But I can see the ones who seem to share a mind with this evil energy,” Kitty is deadpan now. “which leads us to Steve, Steve is part of a cult who seems to worship chaos,”
“And you seduced this man because of the energy?” Dr. W asked patiently, like a saint.
“Oh, it wasn´t hard to seduce him, and his chaotic energy was...smaller, compared to what keeps lurking around, however, it was enough...for a while,” Kitty stares at him. “Now, you tell me: what´s the point of all this? Why are you following me throughout all my life?”
Dr. W opens a grin, too wide to be human. “You knew, ever since that day, huh? Amazing!”
Kitty is deadpan. “Why? Are we talking about a chosen one narrative? Are you the big bad I should defeat?”
The man laughs darkly. “I know some being who would love if you did that...”
“Are you here to kill me?” she asked without missing a beat. The man/being stop smiling.
“Never say this, ever!” he urged never looking far from pleased. He looks so distraught.
“Kiss me,” she asked, and the being comes back to his merry, calm, and composed way.
“That wouldn´t be very professional!”
“Then why are you ALWAYS following me?”
“I want to see how are you fairing, just that,” Dr. W responds and Kitty exhales sharply.
“Ok, are you a real lawyer?” Kitty asked exhausted.
The corner of his lips twitched. “Yes, I can help you with your divorce and free pro bono, if you want,” he promised.
Kitty sighs again and swallows. “This is so strange, but I need a lawyer and the X-Men are angry at me...” she rubs her elbows.
“Oh, why is that?” he asked serenely, but his eyes are gold and scarlet now.
“I cheat on Piotr with a man named Steve, he was from your cult,” she stops and asks how many names he has, and Dr. W only replies with a sounding yes. “anyway, I also slept with Scarlet Witch and huh I had an affair with her for a long time...”
Dr. W titled his head now, parroting her earlier gesture. “and they hate Wanda Maximoff because...”
“Well, they had no problem when she told the Inhumas off, you know, their princess was cheating and gaslighting her brother, look,” she hurries to explain herself, “I know is a hypocrite move about hating someone who cheats and then cheats too, but, Piotr is a creep, Quicksilver, however, didn´t deserve to be gaslight, blame and be turned in to scapegoat for a family who likes a bit of inbreeding,”
Dr. W only smirks at that.
“But after what she did with the Inhumas...why the X-Men aren´t a fan of Scarlet Witch?”
“Wanda...took Genosha from Magneto, and while I see her reasons, some X-Men are ready to see her as the antichrist,” Kitty snapped at the question and then lower her voice.
“The X-Men kick me out and I´m living with my homunculus family at the moment, and Piotr wants to do this divorce as dirty as possible,”
“I can help you with this, I can help with all of this,”
“The price?”
Dr. W only smiles. “Just tell me more about your life, Kitty Pryde, just that,”
