Summary
Y/N L/N had been with the Avengers for a while now. They had taken her telling them about her powers fairly well. SHIELD still weren't told about it so when Director Fury is notified, he connects it with something from her past and deems her a threat. She reconnects with someone from her past, she’s able to work through some of her pain, and their relationship gets stronger with the time they spend together. When something goes wrong with her powers, she’s taken back to the Avengers, and Fury comes to a decision about her future on the team.
Note
This is the shortest chapter but istg I don't want to hear about it please. It'll get HOPEFULLY better as it goes on. But no promises. Also, I might have to change the summary bc this has no outline whatsoever. I'm so sorry to anyone who hopes this'll be at least decent.

Here's the rest of it

"Hey, Y/N." I sit stere for a second, just staring at her. She's a lot taller now. And part of her face is covered by what looks like. . . burn scars. I look down, everything Fury told me coming into focus in my memory. That night. . . "I would hug you but." She jokes, gesturing to the restraints. The doctor comes back over and removes them. Izzie comes over to me, wrapping her arms around me, and I immediately do the same. She holds me at arms length smiling. I half- heartedly do the same, before looking down again. "Wow, I haven't seen you since" "Mom and Dad's funeral." I finish for her. She nods, releasing me. I look at her guiltily. "Izzie, I am so sorry." "Pretty bad isn't it? You always apologize for things that aren't your fault."

"Except, this time it might be." Director Fury interjects. "Y/N. what is he talking about?" Nat questions. "Would you like to tell them or should I?" I go to speak but the words get stuck in my throat. "Fine then." Fury takes out the pictures again, setting them on the table. "Y/N, what does this mean?" Fury explains to them how my powers may have been the cause, and I stay silent. Izzie looks at me, her expression unreadable. She then turns and walks out of the room. Seeing my sister so upset causes that familiar pressure to grow in my head. But as it reaches the point the flames would start. . . they don't.

I put my head in my hands, groaning quietly. "Y/N? Are you okay?" Wanda crosses over to me. "Yeah, it's just-" "Your powers don't work." Fury confirms. He points behind my ear. "It's used to stop dangerous Inhumans from hurting people." "She isn't dangerous." "How much proof do you need Romanoff?" She scoffs. "It isn't like she meant to." Fury shakes his head. "Which might be part of the problem. If she can't control it, who knows who she'll hurt." Wanda speaks next, "She's been training, she's getting so much better." "But we can't take that chance." "He's right. I am dangerous." My eyes start to sting as I suppress the tears. Everyone stops as Izzie stands in the doorway.

"You have powers?"
