Chapter 7
It was finally sunday, my morning routine is still the same. Wake up at 7, shower, brush my teeth, change, head downstairs and eat. Today I wore a black tank top, my red leather jacket with a pair of black jeans and my boots.
Melina and Alexei both dropped me off seeing its the last time they'll see me before the semester starts. Going here was really quick since it was sunday and suprisingly there was no traffic.
I headed to the administrator's office to get my schedule, and apparently the lady there did not have her cup of coffee this morning.
I didn't mind her anyways, she gave me my schedule and a definite noticeable side-eye but I ignored it.
I made my way up to my room. I took the stairs needing a little bit of exercise for my body. I finally arrived on the third floor and made my way through the halls to my room.
I took my keys out of my pocket and sliding it through the door, opening it only to find Yelena asleep on her desk.
I walked up to her and shook her shoulder a bit, she slowly woke up and complained that her body hurt. I laughed asking her how she ended up falling asleep there, until I noticed a vest next to her with a small sewing kit beside it.
"Why do you have a vest?"
"Why you don't like it?" She looked at me.
"Is that like an army surplus?" I laughed.
"Okay it had a lot of pockets." She trying to make it sound convincing.
"Okay?" I chuckled
"And I use them all the time, so I'm trying to make a few modifications to it." She reasoned.
"Ugh whatever." She said turning away.
I tried so hard not to laugh.
"Ugh shut up, the point is I've never... I've never had control over my own life before and now I do. Plus this is the first of clothing I spent my own money on."
I paused for a moment, finally agreeing with her. "Okay, I like your vest."
"God! I knew it! I knew you did! it's so cool right?"
"Yeah, It's cool." I chuckled.
"You can put so much stuff in there, you wouldn't even know."
"Yeah it does have a lot of pockets." I laughed.
"It does, don't you know how handy that is..." She paused.
"What time is it anyways?" She yawned.
I looked at my phone to see that it was 8 o'clock.
"It's 8"
"Damn, that's too early on a sunday, I'm gonna head back to bed."
She stood up from her chair and strechted her whole body, knowing that she fell asleep sitting down there for who knows how long, it'll probably hurt.
She opened her covers and plopped herself down her bed and just went to sleep. I just laughed her ridiculousness off seeing how happy she was with her vest.
I just shook my head as I sat down on my bed, I grabbed the nearest book on my shelf. Plugging my headphones on and search for some music finding the right one to start my book with.
I checked the book in my hands and noticed what I grabbed was a book by Madelaine Miller's "The song of Achilles".
I sighed knowing that this is gonna be sad but it still stayed as one of my favorites.
As I was reading my mind slowly started to drift away and my whole sight began fading to darkness.
