Chapter 8
I felt a light tap on my shoulder, knowing who it is, I opened my eyes and adjusted them to the rooms brightness. I was woken up by Yelena, who seemed to be eager to show me her vest again.
"I wanted to wake you up with a pillow to the face but now is probably not the right time since you're holding a book." She spoke letting her accent slip through.
I chuckled. "You'd probably ended up having a book to the face if you did."
"So I finally finished modifying the vest." She happily said handing it to me.
"Okay, and?"
"I added more pockets."
I found it ridiculously funny that she added more pockets, I couldn't tell if she was joking but I'm pretty sure that she was serious about the pockets.
"It's not funny Natasha." She huffed.
"I know, I know." I said trying to keep a serious face.
"It's already 12 by the way, wanna head to the lunch room and grab lunch with me?"
I heard my stomach growl at the mention of lunch. "Yeah, sure."
"Maybe you'll get to see Maximoff again." She grinned.
"Shut up."
I hid my slightly tainted pink cheeks as I sat up on my bed and grabbed my shoes, trying to hide my embarrassment from Yelena.
We headed to the lunch room to see that there were a few students in here. Some were eating and some were still lining up to get food.
"Hey what's todays menu?"
"Honestly I don't even know, everyday they always change it up." She shrugged.
As I arrived at the register, I saw that it was mostly salads, fruits, vegetables and some sandwhiches. I saw some beverages too, there were some sodas and juices. I instead ordered water, some orange and apple slices and one ham and cheese sandwhich. While Yelena on the other hand had a bottle of pepsi and egg sandwhich.
We made our way to an empty table, until I accidentally bumped into someone. I was hoping it was Wanda but it turned out to be another blonde girl. I was glad that both of didn't drop our trays from the impact, so I quickly apologized.
"It's okay, I wasn't looking where I was going."
"Uh well, do you have someone to sit with?" I asked since I didn't see who she was sitting with.
"No I don't." She dropped her head down.
"Why don't you come sit with us?" I suggested.
"Really? Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother."
"No, I promise you're not, and Yelena doesn't mind either" I said looking at Yelena.
Yelena just shrugs."Yeah I don't mind, come on, the more the merrier I guess."
"See, come on, sit with us."
We all sat down with ours trays, then I remembered I don't know her name.
"I'm Natasha Romanoff by the way." Offering my hand for her to shake.
"Pepper Potts, I already met Yelena once before so I already know her name." She said as she shook my hand.
"Did you come here alone?" I ask.
"Yeah, my roommate was gonna catch up later but she had a change of plans to go have lunch with her brother."
"Maybe she could joins us later at dinner." Yelena smirked clearly knowing something I don't.
"Sure, I'll ask her later." Pepper smiled sweetly.
For the next few minutes we ate our lunches, pulling out a few jokes here and there, jumping from topic-to-topic.
On one which was about Yelena's vest, it was mostly her talking about its pockets. Which Pepper just listened in odd confusion, while I just laugh that she's still not over about her vest pockets.
I swear when I give her a gift, I'll make sure that it has a lot of pockets, nooks and crannies to which her heart desires.
I chuckle at the thought which only earned a confused look from both Yelena and Pepper.
"You're still judging me about my vest? I thought you liked my vest" she huffed.
"I did, I just find it funny that you're now convincing Pepper about it."
"Well the pockets part did seem pretty convincing though." Pepper laughed.
"You guys are no fun." Yelena huffed again.
