Chapter 2
I was right when I said this was huge, as Maria was guiding us through the halls, she was pointing out each classroom, bathroom, and the rooms where the students were sleeping in.
She points out that students have a curfew at 10 pm, and that they should be in their rooms before that, she guided us to where the lunch room is, the gym, and there's even a laundry area. I was impressed that this school has a huge pool on the right side building.
Next, Maria led us to my room where it was on the third floor of the building, we took the elevator since all the students were still in class so no-one was crowding in front of it, Maria told me that my schedule will be given to me when I already settled in. We arrived in front of my room and I took a mental note that I was on Room 27.
Apparently I was suppose to have a roommate, the room was a painted with a plain light gray wall, there were two big closet near each side of the doorframe facing the window, there two beds on the sides, at the middle wall has a big window where you can sit on the frame and watch the outside world moving forward.
At the end of those beds has a small workdesk with a small desk lamp with two drawers on each leg, next to it was a door I guess was the bathroom but what I noticed the most is that I already have a roommate. How did I know? My side was completely empty, there were no bedsheets, no bookshelves, and well its not decorated yet.
Her side of the room were decorated with hand drawn portraits on the wall, there were two shelves full of books, and a brown box from what I eas guessing was a jewelry box. Her bed had gray bed sheets with a black blanket and two floral white pillows.
She was fairly organized, I can tell she's an artist, how? well her desk tells me other wise, it was filled with crumpled papers, some scattered and some had unfinished sketches paired with some pencil shavings and a very short pencil. She has a lot of skectchbooks displayed on her desk shelf, along with a lot of colorful markers, pencils and pastels.
"So solnyshko, what do you think?." Alexei asked me.
"I think its great, but I do have one question that its still on the back of my mind though." I answered, looking at Maria, trying to find the right words before saying.
"Does this place support the LGBT+ community or do I have to hide myself so I don't have to risk getting bullied?" I asked, I know on the outside I look like I could kill anyone in just 30 seconds, it's just a shield to protect myself from harm.
"We don't get asked this question often but yes we do, some parents don't agree with this idea, so only a small percentage of the school is not so open to the LGBTQ+, but overall it's safe enough to have students express themselves." Maria answered my question without hesitation, and at that instant I knew that I was gonna like this school.
As we finished the tour, we were once back at the front of the school, but only Maria was there to bid us goodbye.
"We will be expecting your arrival very shortly Natasha, for now make sure to pack everything and your schedule will be given on sunday." Maria told me with a soft smile.

The drive back home was very quick, I mostly fell asleep in the backseat. I was woken up by Alexei once we arrived, I managed to get myself to get out of the car and head my way inside.
I head upstairs changing into something comfortable mostly consisting an oversized shirt and a pair of shorts before starting to pack most of my things.A few minutes of packing goes by, I heard a knock on my door.
"We ordered some take-out, you wanna join us for dinner solnyshko?" Melina asked me.
"Yeah I'll be down in a minute, I just need to pack something before I forget." I said glancing at my phone to check the time in which it was 5:48.
A few minutes go by and I noticed that it was almost six, so I quickly pack some of my shoes, mostly my converse and my vans before heading down stairs. They order pepperoni pizza and some lasagna.
"Are you excited this sunday?" Alexei asked while taking a bite out of his pizza.
"Yeah I can't wait, but I'll miss you guys."
I answered slightly glancing down my lasagna.
"Don't worry luchik, you can always visit us during weekends and holidays" Melina said.
"I know but still, I'll still miss you during the weekdays." I said.
"You'll never know you might meet someone there." Alexei chuckled while waving his eyebrows jokingly at me.
I blushed at embarrassment knowing damn well that I might but hey who am I to get my hopes up.
"As long as we get to meet them, we won't have a problem with you spending more time there." He said laughing.
"Dad stooop." I said getting more embarrased.
We finished eating our pizza, I helped Melina with the dishes by putting them in the washer. I bid them goodnight as I was heading up to bed as I felt myself getting more tired.
I tied my hair in a ponytail, knowing that when I wake up it'll still find its wait to get loose and resulting in me having an awful case of morning hair in my mouth.
As I laid there I felt my eyes slowly closing and I start drifting away in my sleep, I thought about what the next day will bring, just hoped I'll make a good impression.
