“Oh c’mon, Peg. I said I was sorry!” Steve said as Peggy washed her face and put in her curlers for the night.
The fuming brunette said nothing, just climbed into her side of the bed and turned away from Steve as she bed down for the night.
Steve sighed and tried to coax her into talking by pressing a kiss to the back of Peggy’s neck.
“I promise that next time I go out on a mission, I’ll be more careful, no more death defying stunts, Captain’s honor.” Steve murmured pulling her close to him, and smiling when she did not resist him.
Peggy still didn’t talk to him, but Steve swore as he was drifting off to sleep he heard Peggy whisper.
“I love you too, you stupid idiot.”
