Chapter 1
The exterior of Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters looked humongous to the little girl standing in front of it. The little blonde girl had to crank up her neck to try and see everything. It’s hard to believe that her daddy works here. For as long as she could remember, her daddy lived with grandma and auntie. But now, he is living in this humongous place.
Normally mommy would be dropping her off but something came up back home. That’s the whole reason she’s coming to visit daddy. Since they live so far away it’s hard to get to see him. It always surprises her that people actually live on earth. How can they stand the smell? Other than visits, she’s always been on the moon with her mommy. And every time she comes, daddy would take she somewhere fun and exciting. She can’t wait to see where they go this time. She couldn’t wait. She was getting so excited just thinking about it. She was about to start walking to the door when she suddenly felt fur on her left side. She looked over and it appears mommy sent Lockjaw to watch over her.
She reached up and gave him head pats. So she’s going to spend at least the next week with both Lockjaw and her daddy. As she was giving him love, the front door opened. A man stood in the doorway starring at them. She walked up to him with Lockjaw following her. “Hi, I’m looking for my daddy.”
“Uh…”
She watched him. The man just kept making noises like that. She looked passed him to try and see if her daddy was near by. She walked passed him and then Lockjaw teleported inside with her. “Daddy! Where are you?” She called out.
The people around turned to look at her and watched her make her way deeper into the mansion looking for her daddy. The dog, which by the way is huge; seriously he’s like 5 feet tall, started sniffing around trying to catch the smell.
Lockjaw seem to catch the scent because after a bit he went off running. Luna went following him.
Peter needs to start waking up earlier. It’s noon and he just woke up, but it’s Saturday so he’s not in trouble for missing a class or anything. He was slowly making his way downstairs when he heard some loud footsteps. At first he didn’t think anything of it, but it didn’t sound like they were slowing down. And they were getting a lot closer to him. That’s when he got knocked over. And he could see Lockjaw starring down at him.
“Well, hello there buddy. What are you doing here? Nothing’s happened to Luna or Crystal right?” When Lockjaw decided to lick his face, he took that to mean that everything is fine. He takes his job as protector of the royal family very seriously. So if something was wrong he would not be carefree like this. And speaking of being a protector, the only reason he would be here is if Luna was here. So, where is his baby?
“Daddy!” There is his little angel. He started to work his way out from under the Amaquelin families loyal companion. It took a bit of work but eventually he was let up.
“How is my cute little lady?”
“I’m okay. I’m really excited for the visit.”
“That reminds me, baby you weren’t scheduled to come see me this weekend. What’s going on? Is everything back home okay?”
She nodded her head. “Mommy said that she just needed to take care of some things and until she finishes I’d be coming to stay with you. And then when I got here Lockjaw showed up.”
That means that something is going on that Crystal doesn’t want Luna to know about. Which means most likely Maximus is stirring up trouble again. Which means to keep Luna safe, she needs to be here with him. And as added protection just in case, Lockjaw is here too. He’s not going to turn away his daughter. She needs a safe place to stay and what better place than with him. Maximus doesn’t know where on Earth he lives, so he will have no idea where Luna is. So that is good. But how is he going to explain this to the others? They have no idea he was once married nor that he has a daughter. That’s going to be fun to explain. How is he going to explain that his ex-wife is not of this world nor technically is his daughter. Because looking at it from a technical standpoint his ex and daughter are from the moon. So yes they are not of this world. Which means the others are going to find out that aliens actually do exist. And that means they’re going to wanna know how he met Crystal and found out about everything. Oh he’s getting a headache just thinking about it.
“Baby, you know that I love to see you, but I need warning to set up. That’s why your mommy and me talk so much before you come visit. I need time to plan out things to do. When it’s a surprise like this, I haven’t prepared. I don’t have any of your favorite snacks or your toys here. I don’t think I’ve had time to figure out something fun to do during your visit, when it pops up like this I don’t have anything planned.“
“So it will be spontaneous. We make it up as we go.“
“For the weekend that can work, but I have a job now sweetie. And I’m not sure who will watch you while I work.”
“Lockjaw can.”
She looked so confident in the idea the Lockjaw would take care of her while he works. He really didn’t have the heart to tell her no. But he does have to explain that she needs someone who can at least make her food. And Lockjaw is not able to do that as far as he is aware. But he has been away from the moon for a while so maybe he learned. “Luna, if while I’m working you get hungry would he at all be able to make you a meal?”
“No silly.”
“ then I’m sorry honey but Lockjaw can’t watch you then. He’ll still be there to protect you. But you need someone who can do things like making you a meal.”
“Can’t I just go with you?” And then she started giving him these puppy dog eyes. She is adorable and it is very effective.
He sighed just before she started to cheer. She should not be so excited to go hang out while he’s working. Most of the time she’s active like him and he’s not sure how much she’ll like just sitting around waiting for him to be done. Because while he’s teaching he can’t really watch over her the way he needs to. His focus will be on his class. He’s certain that she’s going to be bored to tears wait for him. But what can you do? She’s a stubborn as the rest of the family.
