Steve
Keeping Bucky in bed proved to be a challenge.
The Winter Soldier didn't need to stay in bed. An assassin needed to stretch his legs. Bucky was restless, grouchy, and itching for a fight. He'd chew Steve up for the littlest things. If Steve cut his orange slices wrong, Bucky made sure he knew it. If he made the bed wrong, Bucky would try to fix it himself. If Steve wouldn't put on a violent action movie, Bucky kicked him out.
Steve knew that Bucky was just sick of being stuck. He was a super-soldier too. He knew that Bucky was going nuts with all his pent-up energy. So, he was trying to come up with ideas that would give Bucky something to do. He tried books that worked a little, but Bucky was a fast reader. He tried to get Bucky to knit some things for the baby, but knitting made Bucky sad. He tried getting Bucky into online shopping, but Bucky thought that things were ridiculously priced.
"Back in my day, I coulda bought this for 25 cents!"
"Buck, there's inflation now."
"We fought for this country, Steve! We should get everything for 25 cents!"
Steve was about to admit defeat. "You wanna try watching a movie or a TV show."
"I'm stuck in bed, punk!" Buck barked.
"We can watch it here!"
"How much does it cost?"
"It's free!" There was no way Steve was going to explain Netflix to Buck.
They settled on one of the shows on Steve's list New Girl.
At first, Bucky was indifferent. But sure enough, he was completely absorbed into the show. "Give me cookie!" He yelled at Steve.
Steve groaned.
But at least, Buck had stopped complaining about being stuck in bed.
