Bucky
Bucky was miserable. He couldn't find a comfortable position. He couldn't get up and move around. He couldn't stop worrying about the baby. He knew he was being unfair to Steve, but Bucky had been fighting for the last seventy years. He couldn't fight this. He couldn't protect his baby. He just had to hope that everything would work out all right.
"Have you thought about names?" Steve asked.
"I was thinking Winnie," Bucky admitted feeling the ever-present pang of grief over his mother.
"I like that." Steve grinned. "What about middle names?"
"Haven't gotten that far. You got any ideas?"
Steve lit up. "I've got a few!"
"Well, let's hear 'em."
"I was thinking Sarah or Peggy."
"Hmm." Bucky tested them out, "Winnie Sarah. Winnie Peggy. I like Sarah better."
"Love you." Steve wrapped his arms around Buck.
Bucky nuzzled closer. He was home.
"I was thinking we do something fun before the baby comes."
"Thought doctor ordered me to stay put?"
"Bruce thinks it'll be ok as long as you take it easy."
"Where you wanna go?"
"Tony's got a beach house."
"Hmm."
"Just think about it, jerk."
Getting away did sound nice.
