Bucky
Someone was knocking on his door.
He gripped the knife in his hoody pocket tighter as he approached his door. Cautiously, he opened the door to see a gangly pup grinning at him.
"Hi! I'm Peter. I live right across the street, and I saw that you had just moved in, and I wanted to say hi! And give you these." He thrust a box of cookies at Bucky.
Bucky breathed a bit easier.
An energetic pup was not a threat.
"Uh, hi. I'm Jamie."
"Awesome! It's so nice to meet you!"
"Yeah, you too."
"My aunt and I wanted to invite you to dinner! I wanted to invite you sooner, but she said we should let you settle first. But you've gotta be settled by now!"
"Sure, I guess. Should I bring anything?"
"Well, my aunt's big into vegan and healthy eating, so if you want something actually edible... Not that she doesn't make good food. It's just really green!"
"Uh, I have soup?"
"That's awesome! It was so nice meeting you!"
Bucky watched the pup bounce away. He wasn't quite sure what he'd gotten himself into, but maybe it was time for a change.
