Steve
"Maybe, we're looking at this wrong," Sam said. "We've been going off the assumption that Bucky would act like Nat. But what if he's not?"
"You mean that he's not lying low?" Nat asked.
"No, I'm sure he's lying low. If it were you, you'd be out of the country as fast as possible; you'd be constantly moving; and you'd be on constant guard. But Bucky's not just a spy. He's a soldier and a POW. So, maybe, his priorities are different."
"But why wouldn't he come to me then?" Steve asked.
"I don't know, Cap."
"It might just be that he's still making sense of everything. I mean Hydra messed with his head," Clint added.
"So, if he's not on the run. What's he doing?" Nat asked.
"Cap, it'd really help if we knew what he was." Sam had left the subject untouched so far, but he was right.
"I can't." He couldn't. "You don't understand. In our day, you had to keep it quiet. I can't break that trust."
"Steve, this could be the missing piece. We need to know." Sam prodded.
"He was an Omega," Steve whispered. "We thought that I would present as one, but I ended up presenting as an Alpha even before the serum. We switched our papers 'cause I looked like one anyway, and Omegas couldn't get decent jobs. If we hadn't, he'd never have gotten drafted." Steve's shoulders shook.
It had been his idea. It was his fault what happened.
No wonder, Bucky didn't want anything to do with him.
