Late-night Sneezing
Mystique lay in bed, her blue-skinned form barely visible under the soft glow of the moon filtering through the curtains. It was the middle of the night, a time when everything was supposed to be peaceful, serene, and still. Yet, something was stirring deep within her, causing her nostrils to twitch and flare uncontrollably. She could feel it—a sneeze building up inside her, slow and deliberate, like a wave gathering momentum before crashing against the shore.
"Haah...ahhh...Haaah...Aaaaahhh...Haaahhhh...Ahhhhh...Aaaaaaahhhhhh...!"
The sudden arrival of a sneeze jolted Mystique awake, and she began to sit up in bed carefully, not to wake up the peacefully slept white fur tiger lying next to her. Her breath repeatedly hitched, her nose twitched, and her nostrils flared up and quivered, and her eyes were squeezed shut, the vital sign that she was about to sneeze.
It was the middle of the night, so she didn't want to sneeze now and risk waking up Kato, her boyfriend, but there wasn't a way around it. She needed to sneeze badly as her nose continued to twitch, and her nostrils flared up and quivered about to erupt like a volcano.
"HAAAAAAH... AH-CHOOOOOO! Aaaaaaaah...AH-CHOOOOOO!...Aaaaaaaaaaaaah...AAHH-CHOOOOO! HaaaaaaAAAHHH...AAHH-CCHHEEWW...!...HAAAAAAAAAAH...AAAAAAHHHHHHH-KKSSHHEE...!...AAAHHH...AAAAHHH-CHOOOOOO...!"
Mystique sneezed quite loudly six times, throwing her head forward with every sneeze, and shooting a gust of saliva out her mouth and a stream of snot from her nose upon each sneeze. The sneezes were painful, and Mystique groaned and sniffed the snot back in as she rubbed her nose with her forefinger.
When Mystique sneezed, Kato opened his eyes and turned to his right after hearing her sneezing fit."Raven?" He groggily asked as he looked at her with his foggy eyes as she continued to rub her nose after sneezing six times in a row.
"Sorry, Kato. I didn't mean to wake you up. I was trying not to so you could sleep," Mystique groaned. "What time is it?" She asked.
Kato turned to look at the clock on the nightstand before he responded to her question. "It's fine, Raven. You just surprised me when the quiet of the night was suddenly broken," He said soothingly."Also, it is 12:25 AM," He replied.
Mystique cringed after those two sneezes. She was wide awake. She was probably going to be up all night now. Mystique laid back down, sniffling while stareing at the ceiling, hoping to fall back asleep.
She coughed as quietly as she could. Kato looked over at his blue skin girlfriend for a minute with concern before drifting back to sleep. He spoke again.
"Bless you, by the way," Kato said with a yawn before dozing back off to sleep.
Mystique would respond until another sneeze built up in Mystique's nose. Her breath hitched again. "Ahh...ahhh...!"
Mystique grabbed her nose and pinched it shut, trying to keep it from escaping, but that didn't work, so she stifled the sneeze.
"Ht'kshht!"
"Bless you," Kato muttered, half awake.
Mystique heard him and sighed in relief he wasn't fully awake, only to feel another sneeze coming. She stifled five more sneezes, but they were louder than the last one.
"HT'KShht!! HNN'Gtt!! NN'Gshh!! HT'Shht!! HNN'Gtt!!"
Mystique sniffed, rubbing her nose after her sneeze fit. She would sigh in relief, still seeing Kato was sleeping, only to feel another sneeze begin to build up inside her nostrils. She could feel it was about to be one she wouldn't be able to stifle. "Aaaaaaaah... Ahhhhhhh...Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh...!
Mystique got out of the bed she was sleeping in, and into the bathroom, her breath hitching uncontrollably.
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhh...! Ahhhhh!....Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!....Ahhhhhhhhhh...!...Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh...!
This was going to be a big one. Mystique hand moved her hand in front of her face, fanning as she continued to inhale and nose twitching and flaring uncontrollably.
"Aaaaaaah... Aaaaaahhh...Aaaaaahhhhhhh...!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Mystique let out a massive sneeze, shooting a stream of snot out of her nose, and landed into the sink in front of her. She sniffed as she grabbed a tissue out of a nearby tissue box. She wondered if she was catching a cold or if her allergies were acting up.
When she was about to blow her nose, another sneeze came on. "Ahhh..."
Mystique was hoping she could stop sneezing soon. It was draining so much of her energy. She brought the tissue to her nos,e preparing to sneeze into it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
Mystique sneezed and quickly blew her nose. Within seconds it was covered entirely in yucky snot. She tossed the tissue into the trash can sniffing a few more times before washing her hands with soap and warm water.
Her nose was finally satisfied with the sneezing but felt more would come. Walking out of the bathroom, she got back in bed and quickly drifted back off to sleep. All the sneezing had tired her out.
