Feeling under the Weather
Mystique woke up with a pounding headache groaning as her alarm clock goes off signaling that it was now time to get on up for the day.
'Man my head feels like it pounding.' She thought as she rubs her temples trying to stop the pain.
Then suddenly a faint but noticeable itch appeared in her nose, so she sniffed. The sniffle was rather wet and didn't help satisfy the itching sensation in her nose. Through it was clear that it wasn't working. Her nose kept itching and her nostrils flared. Her breath hitched and knew a sneeze was coming.
"Aaaaah... Aaaaaahhhh..." Mystique tilted her neck back as her nose quiver and flaring until finally releasing her sneeze. "Aaaaaaaahhhh-choo!"
Mystique double over with a quiet sneeze. She sniffed and groaned before a familiar voice spoke from next to her.
"Bless you, Raven," Kato said.
"Thanks," She groaned rubbing her nose with her forefinger.
Kato sighed as he looked at her girlfriend noticing her blue nose seemed a little red this morning.
'Raven doesn't look so good this morning.' Kato thought looking over at Mystique as she started to get up from the bed as she sniffed her nose sounding stuffy.
He watched as her nose started to twitch as she was halfway off the bed. Another sneeze was coming.
"Aaaaaah... AAAAAAAAH...!" Mystique tilted her neck back. She then brought her arm to her mouth to cover her incoming sneeze as she ended up sitting back on the bed. She took another inhale before she exploded.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
She double over as she released a much louder and messy sneeze. When she finished letting it out, she was slightly breathless. She moved quickly stood up swaying as she headed to the bathroom to blow her nose before getting ready for work.
'What is going on with me? Sneezing in the middle of the night and again this morning?' She thought wiping her nose with her arm as she headed to the bathroom.
Kato blessed his girlfriend again before grabbing his phone and heading off to wake the brotherhood for school after making a quick call.
Kato was in the hallway standing next to his and Raven's bedroom door listening to the phone ring a few seconds before hearing a male voice answer.
"Hello."
"Hi, this is Kato Hall I'm to let you know, Principal Darkholme won't be coming in," Kato said. "So could the assistant principal, please fill in for her today?"
"Yes of course."
"Thank you," Kato said hanging on up.
Kato then cracked open the bedroom door and called out to his girlfriend. "Raven wash on up and put some new pajamas on! You're not going to work at school today."
"Ok."
Kato then headed off to start making breakfast after making sure the brotherhood was all up and getting ready for school.
Kato was in the kitchen cooking some grits and bacon. While waiting for Mystique and the brotherhood to come on downstairs for breakfast.
He was thinking about taking Mystique breakfast on upstairs so she could relax and eat in peace. Since she seemed to be coming down with something.
He was pulled out of his thoughts as Toad, Lance, Fred, and Petiro cane running downstairs sitting down at the table. Just a few minutes after breakfast was done cooking.
"Morning boys," Kato greeted.
"Morning," The boys greeted back.
"Where boss lady?" Toad asked noticing Mystique was missing this morning.
"She unwell this morning. So she is resting upstairs," Kato said putting some grits and crumpled pieces of bacon in a bowl. " "Eat up and off to school. I have a girlfriend to care for today," he said heading on upstairs.
He arrived upstairs and was standing outside of his bedroom door about to open it when he heard the sound of Mystique about to sneeze from the other side.
"Aaaaaaah... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh...." She inhaled.
Kato's hand rested on the doorknob as he debating on opening the door. He didn't want to get sneeze on if she was near the door but wanted to make sure she was fine. A final inhale later, an explosive sneeze was heard as he partly opened the door.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOO!"
Kato fully opened the door and there stood Mystique locked into a sneezing position while standing by the bathroom door in a fresh red nightgown. She recovered from the sneeze and sniffed wetly and loudly blowing her nose.
Her poor nose was bright red and she looked flushed with bloodshot eyes. Kato stood there chewing his lip with concern in his eyes.
"Bless you, Raven," He said.
"Thanks," She said wiping her nose with a tissue before tossing it into the trashcan.
"You okay?" He asked as she sat down on the bed head resting in her hands.
"Yeah I'm fine," She groaned. "Is that my breakfast?" She asked her voice hoarse as she looked at the bowl in Kato's hands.
"That's a lie you look sick," He said. Also yes this is your breakfast," He said as he headed her the bowl of grits.
"Maybe take it you called in sick for me."
"Of course I did your stubborn. And of try going to work if I didn't call in sick for you. Now eat up and then checking your temperature."
Mystique sighed knowing that she will be stuck in bed all day if she does turn out to be sick. Her boyfriend always like this whenever she is sick or injured. She began eating her food as Kato headed into the bathroom to grab the thermometer.
A couple of minutes later came back out of the bathroom with the thermometer. When he noticed Mystique hovering the empty bowl over the nightstand.
"There a problem?" Kato asked. Mystique answer was her sneezing.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOO!"
Immediately after the sneezing fit. Kato walked back into the bathroom grabbing the box of tissues. He walked back out giving the box to Mystique, before taking her empty bowl. She quickly thank him before blowing her nose.
"Bless you."
"Ugh," She groaned throwing away her tissue. "Thank you."
"Let's check temperature now," Kato said signaling for her to open her mouth.
She nodded and opened her mouth as the thermometer was placed under her tongue. A few minutes later it beeped letting him know that it was done.
He took it out of her mouth and sighed reading the temperature.
"Yeah, you're sick fever of 100.2, " Kato stated reading the thermometer. "Let's get you comfortable and then I make you some tea."
Mystique nodded as Kato lay her down tucking her into bed.
"When I get back I give you some medicine then you will get some rest."
"Yes, doctor Kato or Frozen Tigerman," Mystique said coughing while laughing.
"Just cause my mutation is a tiger appearance and ice breath doesn't make my name frozen Tigerman," He sighed walking out of the room with the bowl. "Anyway, I will be back with your favorite kind of tea," He said leaving the room as Mystique got more comfortable in the bed.
