Jane Foster of Midgard

It was the day of Thor and Jane's Asgardian wedding and Loki and Ophelia had returned to Odin's kingdom for the occasion. The throne room had been transformed into a masterpiece of wedding elegance. Tapestries hung from the ceiling in red with the Odin crest on them, flowers of all colors adorned every surface, and the guests were dressed to their absolute best. The day had come quicker than Ophelia expected. Her sense of time seemingly passing fast as she was in bliss with her happy relationship and newly found family. And today would bring her much joy. She sat in the pews of the great throne room beside Lady Sif. A warrior woman she had only met briefly during her past visit to Asgard. She was tall, fit, and always wore her armor. It was as if she were always ready for battle. Ophelia and Lady Sif had light conversation as the rest of the guests shuffled into the room.

"My honored guests! Welcome! Please take your seats and quiet down!" Odin's booming voice echoed from the alter. The music began to play, a traditional Asgardian hymn, and the doors to the throne room opened. Thor stood beside Frigga as they walked down the crimson aisle. Thor's hair was pulled away from his face and his armor was shinier than ever. And his smile was the happiest smile in all the realms. When he reached the top of the alter he kissed his mother on the cheek and she stepped to the opposite side of him. The music changed to another hymn and the doors opened once more. Jane stood in a floor length golden gown, a veil adorned her head cascading down past her ankles that effortlessly flowed behind her. Her escort, Loki Odinson. He had his arm linked with her and he too had a massive smile on his face. His helmet, polished to perfection, upon his head. And his armor just as perfect as always. When they reached the top of the alter Jane patted Loki's hand and leaned it to whisper something in his ear. Loki blushed then gave her a quick hug. Something that Ophelia never thought she would see; Loki and Jane sharing a fond moment between the two of them. Ophelia had always thought Jane simply tolerated the mischievous younger brother to her husband. But it turned out that, in time, she must have grown to care for him in some way. She must have considering when her family could not come to Asgard for the wedding she asked Loki to walk her down the aisle. An upgrade from her slapping him.

Loki looked to Ophelia in the front row of the audience and winked at her. Ophelia smiled gave a small wave. She could tell that beneath that tough exterior he was a softy. He enjoyed weddings and romance just as much as his brother did. He just didn't show that side of himself very often, and never before an audience of his royal subjects. Before long the ceremony started. Odin said a few words about his grand kingdom, as to be expected, and then turned the subject to his adoration for the man Thor had become and how proud he was that he had found the woman he would share his life with. An unexpected speech of flattery from the king of Asgard. Thor then recited the words his father spoke to him and Jane did the same. There were no personal vows for this ceremony. But the words still rang true. Full of love and respect. A bit traditional but true nonetheless.

After the ceremony Odin quieted the crowds cheers of excitement and well wishes. Thor took a step away from Jane and then sat in a seat beside Heimdall who had been granted a break from watching over the Nine Realms to attend his friend's wedding. Frigga then stood beside Jane and Loki stood by her other side. They faced each other and placed their hands in each others around Jane's body. Jane's expression grew from one of joy to anxiety. Ophelia waved to her slightly to get her attention and gestured for her to take deep breaths and to not be afraid.

"Now that Thor and Jane are wed. The Allmother and my son Loki will perform the immortality enchantment." Odin said and Loki and Frigga closed their eyes. They soon began speaking just above a whisper in unison. Ophelia leaned in to attempt to hear the words they spoke but she heard nothing but the slightest of sound. After a few long minutes their eyes opened and they both gleamed bright green.

"Jane Foster of Midgard. Are you aware and willing to submit your soul to the realm of Asgard?" Frigga asked and Jane looked over to Thor who gave her an encouraging nod.

"I am." Jane said.

"Jane Foster of Midgard. Are you aware and willing to give up your mortal life for an immortal one?" Loki asked.

"I am."

"Close your eyes." Frigga said and Jane did. A bright green light enveloped the three and Jane gasped as it shrank down into her skin. Her eyes flung open and she let out a rushed breath. Her skin sparkled for a moment and she hummed in content. Jane felt exhilarated. Every nerve in her body felt alive. She looked to Thor who had an even bigger smile on his face, if that was even possible, and a tear ran down her cheek. A moment later Loki and Frigga let go of their joined hands and they placed one of their now free hands on each of Jane's shoulders. They turned to the crowed.

"Goddess Jane Foster of Asgard." Frigga announced and the crowd clapped and cheered.
