High School AU
Connor was so tired. Tired of people, tired of talking, and tired of keeping up the mask. He just wanted to crash at home and watch rom-coms with his siblings. But he had an image to uphold. Well I guess he didn’t have to uphold the image. Nor did he really want to anymore. But he looked like what everyone always assumed was the popular preppy type. He was blond, white, blue eyed, and to most people good looking too. Connor didn’t really see it but who was he to stop people from admiring. Connor has had a single girlfriend the entire high school experience, and it was his best friend Cas. Freshman year people had really wanted them together so they tried it. Two days later, Cas broke up with Connor and came out to him as a lesbian. Instead of breaking them apart though, it brought them closer together. Cas had almost came out right after but was too afraid to. Connor being the best friend he could blamed the breakup on him so she wouldn’t have to deal with people pestering her with questions. He had tried coming out himself a few times but no one believed him. They all thought he was joking, they made a couple jokes about their relationship and always tried to turn the story around, but Connor would always shoot them down and retell it how it went. Except for one summer some people saw Cas kissing a girl and when school started again it was all the school was talking about. That week was hell for Cas because not only did that same girl cheat on her, the school kept pestering her with questions. Connor tried to get everyone to stop. He tried using his godforsaken social status to get all the rumors stopped within a week, but the damage was already done to Cas. What really stopped everyone from focusing on Cas was when Aiden and Angel came to school. After “insert weird week related name” Cas was still popular and still known as the queen of the school, but she wasn't the same. She hated people, hated knowing how quickly they switched up from shunning her to loving her within weeks. How easily they went from targeting her to now targeting or ‘focusing’ on the fresh meat. Sometimes people at his lunch table would still joke around asking if he was a queer too, and when he would imply that he was, they would just awkwardly look at him and move onto a different topic. It was so frustrating because everyone wanted him to be some that he wasn’t and when he tried to be himself no one took him seriously. He had tried moving tables, eating outside, skipping lunch, but no matter where he went people followed. Everyone called him a dumb blonde to the point where he really just wanted to dye his hair and move schools. But Cas was here and she loved his hair. And also threatened to cut his dick off if he tried to do anything to his hair without her approval. The bell finally rang, bringing him out of his thoughts. He left his last class in a hurry. Practice was after school, he would meet Aurora by the bleachers and they would watch volleyball practice. And soccer practice. And softball practice. Now, Connor wasn’t really a fan of sports. He didn’t really get them. But Angel Auctor-Vitae was on almost every single sports team in the school so he quickly became a fan. Cas was a cheerleader too, so he always came to support her. (she knew the real reason why he came every time though). Aurora tagged along everytime too. She said it was because she never wanted to walk home by herself but Connor knew it was about her MASSIVE crush on Cas. Aurora was a grade younger than them, which is why he knew Cas never wanted to outright say she had a crush on her too. But Connor knew. He knew them both too well to not be able to tell what was going on between them. Cas’ brother Kisho also did a lot of sports, he was well known for being the best quarterback the school has had for a couple years. He wasn’t that close with Kisho, but they both had one thing in common. They wanted Casora together. That's right, they had made a ship name for them. Sometimes at lunch or afterschool they would meet up for a bit and try to get their sisters to confess or plan something to get them to finally get together but nothing had worked. Aurora’s best friend Aiden was also a big part in this whole thing. And get this, his twin is none other than the most amazing person on the planet, Angel Auctor-Vitae. And not only that, when Kisho and Cas moved here Aiden was the one who showed them around. Kisho kept telling him, ‘It was love at first sight’. So maybe that was another thing they had in common. They were both helplessly pining over the Auctor-Vitae siblings.
