Betrayal
“How could you?” His voice had never sounded so cold. “I trusted you.”
Those few words hurt more than any other wound could. It dug deep into her soul and she almost caved. She wanted to tell Connor everything. She couldn’t stand him looking at her with such anger and betrayal. But she had to do this. She needed them to hate her. That was the only way he’d believe her. Only way for her to save them, her family. So if this is what it took to make sure the people she loved with all her soul had more time to live, she would do it again in a heartbeat.
She saw Connor turn around and storm out of the room. Angel looked at her one last time before running after connor. Guilt took its place resting heavily upon Aurora's heart. She turned to look at Aiden, whose face was blank. His gaze was empty, she could tell he was hurt though by the way he clenched and unclenched his fists over again.
“Aiden, I can expl-”
“Get out. Now.”
“Wait, no-”
“Get out now before I make you Aurora. I really don’t want to hurt you but you’ve done enough.” A tear rolled down his cheek, Aurora had only seen him cry once. She knew she had hurt him, hurt them all. But if she did this right they’d all understand in the end. She picked up her bag and walked out the door. This wasn’t over, she’d see them again. And one day they’d be on the same side once more, for now it was time to end things before they started.
