Loyalty is the first thing they teach you on this ship. Captain gives the crew a series of tests to prove their loyalty. But when you’re his first mate, loyalty is a given. Or well it’s supposed to. I was hired to murder the captain last week. I’ve been in his crew for a few years now gaining his trust, only now to have to stab him in the back both literally and metaphorically. Now the choice is mine. Go through with the murder and finally get the money to pay back my family’s crushing debt? Or save who I would call my dearest friend? The original plan was to invite him to a bar and attack him behind the building. As we reach the shore I contemplate what my decision would be. Once we docked I immediately got off the boat, and ran to the town nearby. I heard him call my name but I’ve made my decision no backing out now. Everything was going according to the plan. I knew he was following behind but I was quick enough to keep a good distance between us and have a head start. I ran into the shop to my left. Once I enter I see the sign of man who would give me my money. I open the door that lead to the office hoping he knew which room I came into so it would make things easier. The door opened again and I attached. The next few minutes a blur. And then I hear his voice again. He whispered “Aiden?” I turn my head and smile as I lie on top of the woman who wanted him dead. “Hi dear, just had to deal with some business. What do you want for lunch, my love?”
