Hi!Thank You for giving this fic a try. Just a few things before we start...1. To read this you do need a bit of background knowledge for both fandoms2. This takes place after Homecoming and before Black Panther so, until the start of the story, the Marvel cannon stays the same unless we mention things in the plot. We decided to have mercy and exclude the angst that would have been Infinity War.3. As you may tell from our account name (or the fact that I used the word our) this fic is written by two people. We usually write and brain rot at the same time but there may be different styles in the writing. (they are pretty similar tho)4. Please no harsh comments. This is our first fic and we are trying our best. We accept constructive criticism and plot ideas tho!kinda adding onto point three... in the notes we will tell you who posts.The main author is Just A Person #1 (aka the genius who came up with this)The co-writer is Just A Person #2 (aka the person who just got autocorrected on pretty much all of these notes)If you have any fics that you wrote that may be based off of this, please comment them since, as readers and fans we are always looking for something new to read and just so we can get credit where credit is due.Promise notes won't be this long from now onCan't wait to see you all at the end of the fic!Enjoy~ Just A Person #2 :)

Tommy Messes Up (be honest... are you surprised?)

Phil told him this was a bad idea. That he was too young to be a vigilante like the rest of their weird family. But eventually, he caved. With a few warnings, of course. His specific words were ”Be careful. Stay out of sight. Help the little guys until your powers grow. And don’t do anything stupid.” Well, when did he listen to anything reasonable? Stupid should be his middle name. Tommy Stupid Watson. Beautiful. An absolute masterpiece.

Anyways, it started when he got out of school. Ah, school. A truly horrible place. A lonely, cold, miserable place. You see, his family just moved to America. Work opportunities, Phil said. It was halfway through the year, and everyone knows that he is the weird transfer from the UK. So he was lonely. Everyone else already had their cliques since it was his Junior year. But it was fine because as soon as he got home he could go bother Wil or Techno.

But continuing the story, Tommy was walking home. It was normal. He had his headphones in, blasting Wil’s band through the speakers. It was completely normal. That was until he heard an explosion. Explosions aren’t terribly uncommon, it is New York, the home of the Avengers. The city of chaos it seemed like. Tommy decided to see what was going on. And so, like any normal vigilante, Tommy carried his freshly made suit with him.

It was the greatest suit ever in Tommy’s opinion. It wasn’t much, but it was a masterpiece considering the limited materials Phil had. It’s not like he had Stark Industries or S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s backing. In Tommy’s mind, Phil was the smartest man in the world. Even smarter than Tony Stark (Phil would constantly deny this). The suit was a simple, sleek design. It was mainly white with red accents. The red was mainly on the shoulder and knee pads, as well as his hood and mask. His gloves on the other hand are black. His suit luckily had places for his wings to spread out and was burn resistant so his fire wouldn’t destroy the suit.

He ducked into an alley. This was the moment that started a roller coaster of a week. But Tommy didn’t know that as he changed into his suit. Logically, he should’ve known that this was a bad idea. Explosion equals one of the bigger heroes most of the time. But you know, his hero mentality refused to accept not helping. After he quickly changed, he unfurled his wings and shot up onto the roof.

Tommy was able to pinpoint the location where the explosion was via the giant pillar of smoke. Legitimately, you could probably see it from the other side of the city. It must’ve been a big bomb. Tommy continued to sprint across the rooftops. He still did not like flying long distances.

The building that was partly blown up was a bank. Of course, it was a bank. Why wouldn’t it be?

As Tommy stood on the roof across the roof, he looked for the robbers. It was a big bomb. The entire wall with the vault door was blown to smithereens. The crew looked to be about 4 people. The crew looked skittish. As if one of them were going to betray the rest. So obviously they hadn’t known each other long. And people say he wasn’t smart.

Tommy glided off the building as he listened for sirens. Luckily for him, there was construction on the road that led to the bank, so they were delayed. A few months ago, Tommy would’ve been frustrated that they were so far away. But now with his powers, he wished the construction would delay them longer.

People with powers should be cautious, Phil taught him that. With the Accords and everything. As an agreement for the ‘Rouge Avengers’ to come back and work with the Avengers they had to change the Accords. So now instead of forcing the Avengers to work with the UN under watch, they have to have a tracker with them at all times and anyone with powers must be registered. As well as anyone working as a vigilante. Tommy did his research when his wings first started coming. He was smart. It totally wasn’t because he was bored. Nope, not at all.

Tommy stepped into the bank. The alarms were blaring in his ear. Except for that, it was quiet. The people who were in the bank left. Which made his job a whole lot easier. The crew hadn’t noticed him yet. He wasn’t even being super quiet. They were all stashing money and jewels into bags.

Tommy took this as an opportunity. Using his wings he propelled himself forward onto someone’s back. They screamed in surprise. The rest of them turned around. “What the hell!” One of them yelled. Tommy used his momentum to push ‘Person 1’ (he isn’t very creative, give him a break) to the floor. His wings kept him standing. Another one charged as the two others continued to stare in shock. Tommy quickly dodged out of the way and pushed the person to the floor just hard enough to knock them out. They crashed into a heap next to ‘Person 1’. Two down, two to go.

‘Person 3’ pulled out a knife. Tommy felt his eyes widen. They charged at him and he ducked. The knife soared over his head. Tommy grabbed the hand holding the knife preventing it from stabbing him. He started to warm up his hand. Not quite conjuring a flame but enough heat to be uncomfortable. They dropped the knife. Tommy let them go. They used their other hand to hold the burning hand. “What the fuck dude!” He screamed. Tommy punched him in the nose and he kicked him to the ground using his boot.

During the commotion, the last person took it as their opportunity to book it out of there with their money. Unluckily for them, he had lots of practice of running either away or towards his brothers so he was pretty fast. Tommy booked it after them. As they were about to exit the bank Tommy tackled them. Tommy groaned as he landed in a flower pot with rocks. Maybe the tackle was a bad idea.

‘Person 4’ was curled in a ball against a stone wall. Sirens were approaching. Tommy slowly stood up. He was going to be sore in the morning. Whatever, it was so worth it. Police cars skidded in front of the bank. “PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND STEP OUT OF THE BANK SLOWLY!” This could be a problem. Tommy crouched down and unfurled his wings. The police brought up their guns. Phil was totally going to kill him. He flew forward. Apparently, the police were not expecting that as no shots were fired.

Tommy soared above their heads. He chuckled as he heard one of the policemen turn to his partners and whisper, “Dude, he looks like the crow! Imagine if they were related!” If only they knew.

Tommy’s family was a weird thing. All of them had different powers. Tommy’s father, Phil, ‘The Crow’, was also a vigilante. He was known as The Crow because of his giant wings that resembled a crow’s. While Tommy’s feathers were white and red, his father’s are pitch black. His father also happened to be a technological genius.

Techno, Tommy’s oldest brother, was also a superhero. It must’ve been a family gene. Techno’s thing was weapons. Whenever he grabbed something that could be used as a weapon, he instantly knows how to use it. without any training. He also has the best stamina and strength ever. But as a downside of him being a legit powerhouse, he hears voices when he uses his powers too much at a time. Techno doesn’t have a ‘superhero’ name and Tommy thinks that is dumb.

Wilbur, Techno’s twin, has siren-like powers. He can manipulate people to do anything with his voice, has enhanced hearing, and also has telekinetics over water. Wilbur also doesn’t have a superhero name since he tends to stay out of the spotlight and therefore isn’t well known.

And then there was him. Tommy, one of the coolest people alive, second only to Phil. Like his father he had wings. And as he mentioned before they were red and white, a stark contrast against his fathers. He also has fire powers. Tommy hasn’t used them much but whenever he does, he gets drained really quickly. The first time he tried to use them he set his room on fire and passed out. Techno and Wil haven’t let it go and that was a month ago.

Tommy’s superhero name was still undecided, but he had a good excuse, unlike his very cool brothers. While they had been vigilantes for months and didn't even try to make a name, Tommy was still just starting so of course he didn't have a name yet. Whatever his name will be, it must be worthy of him, and he just hasn't found one yet.

If Tommy had been listening closely, he would’ve heard the sound of webs slinging into the bank. Unbeknownst to him, this was the start of a rollercoaster of a week. It was only Monday.

POV - Peter. P

The criminals were knocked out when he got there. That in itself was strange. He would never say it in public, but the police are a bunch of idiots.

When Peter had arrived, there was already the signature yellow crime scene tape wrapped around the front door. Luckily he was a well-known hero and the police let him right in.

The lobby was a disaster, broken shards of glass were scattered across the floor, rocks from the plant beds looked like they had overflowed. And that was before he looked at the back wall. Even though firefighters were surrounding the wall with their hoses, it was still smoking. That would explain why he heard the explosion from outside his school. The bomb had done a lot of damage.

Inside the vault, money was spread all over the floor. Three people were curled up in balls inside. That was his second hint that the police had not done this. If the police had done this they would’ve been in handcuffs not knocked out on the floor.

Peter looked around and saw a fourth criminal handcuffed to a railing. Luckily for Peter, he was awake. He walked over.

Karen, his A.I, didn’t bother with using the voice changer. It wasn’t that big of a surprise after the disaster of an attempt last year. The criminal whimpered when he saw him approach. The backbone on this one is practically non-existent.

“You-you’re the Spider-Man,” he was basically crying.

“No I’m the Grinch,” he stated with a totally straight tone of voice.

“It wasn’t my idea! I swear!” Peter took a deep breath. He knew this already, he could see it from a mile away.

“What’s your name?” He asked. Peter could tell this could take a while. The dude was shaking like a leaf.

“Th- Theo,” he mumbled. Peter probably wouldn’t have been able to hear if it wasn’t for his enhanced senses. This man probably wasn’t going to be much help. Peter decided to get straight to the point.

“Who stopped you?” Peter knew it wasn’t an Avenger cause no one on the team had wings. The wings were a pretty big clue.

“I don’t know,” he mumbled. Peter sighed. He was right, the dude was useless. “He had wings and I think some other power. He used it on Simon, it made him drop his gun!” Peter noted it down in his brain. Multiple powers, actually quite cool. “He was terrifying! With his bandana and his hood. He moved so silently. Like a ninja!” Now the guy was rambling. Great.

What else did he need to track this guy down? He racked his brain as Theo spouted nonsense about ninjas. Oh, he probably needs to know what he looked like. That might help a little. “Dude, stop,” the rambling slowed down. “What did he look like?” he asked. Theo stared at him. “What did he look like?” he repeated.

“Oh umm, his suit, if that’s what you want to call it, was basically a hoodie and jeans but like meshed together sort of,” Peter blinked. That description made no sense. But Theo continued. “He had some sort of red visor on so I couldn’t see his eye colour,” he paused. Theo was trying so hard to think of a description. It was honestly kind of funny. “Oh and also he had blonde hair I think. I saw some of it poke out from under his hood.” That was actually kind of useful.

“Thanks, have a good day? I guess?” Why did he say that? Theo was a bank robber for christ’s sake. He really was an idiot. Peter swung out of the bank. He had learned one very important thing, he had a new vigilante on his hands. Vigilantes aren’t exactly uncommon, he even started as one, but they normally stuck to the shadows and did not do something and stop a bank robbery of one of the biggest banks in the city. He swung around until he found a building he thought was in a good area to keep an eye on the city.

“Karen?” he didn’t know why, but Peter always had to make sure Karen was online.

“Yes, Peter,” her voice was always a calming presence.

“Can you run a check on any past sightings of this new vigilante? Use the description Theo gave us,”

“Of course, Peter,” he smiled. Karen was always incredibly helpful.

While she was doing that, he leaned back against the small barrier that was next to the edge of the building and thought about his day so far. School was school. It was boring. Flash was still a pain in his ass, which kind of sucked but whatever. He couldn’t care less at this point. Although, he was no longer the weird loner kid anymore. He could leave that job for the UK transfer. He thinks his name was Tommy. Before he could think more about it, Karen interrupted his thought process.

“There haven’t been many sightings of this particular vigilante,” Peter sighed that wasn’t going to be much use. “But that may have something to do with the fact that he hasn’t appeared any time before 3 weeks ago,” Peter blinked. That may be slightly more useful. If he was relatively new, then he probably didn’t have a set pattern or allies. It would be so much less stressful if Peter could keep an eye on them.

“Thank you, Karen,” he said standing up. Time to inform Mr. Stark.

“It is always my pleasure Peter,”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, Peter may have procrastinated telling Mr. Stark. It wasn’t on purpose, he swears. He just kept getting distracted. So he ended up telling him at around midnight. Thank goodness for Tony’s unstable sleeping patterns. Also, his idea to add a window he could crawl through to get into the lab.
Luckily for him, Tony was still wide awake. Peter took off his mask as he closed the window. His footsteps were silent as he walked across the cluttered lab. Tony was definitely in the zone, as he didn’t notice when F.R.I.D.A.Y announced his presence. “Welcome back Peter,” she greeted him politely.
“Thank you F.R.I.D.A.Y,” Peter really wanted to learn how to make his own A.I they were just so cool. He suddenly remembered what he was there to do. Peter tapped Tony’s shoulder.
He may have denied it later, but Peter saw him jump off his chair and onto the floor. That just proved Peter’s point that he was in the zone.
“Jeez kid, you scared me!” Tony exclaimed. Peter chuckled. Tony gave him a look. He shut up. Mr. Stark was terrifying when he wanted to be, but Peter wouldn’t change it for the world. “What do you need at-” Tony glanced at the clock. “11:30!” Peter stuttered. “Don’t you have school tomorrow?” he asked.
“Yes,” Peter started. Mr. Stark gave him a look. “But, I’m heading home after this,” Mr. Stark gave him a look which said ‘you better or there will be hell to pay. “So, there is this new vigilante around.” Tony nodded as he started his explanation. “He has wings so that’s pretty cool. Also, some other power that I’m not too sure of. His suit looks pretty high-tech for being a vigilante.” Mr. Stark was writing all of this down on a notepad.
“Anything for the appearance?” He asked.
“He’s blonde. But I’m not too sure about that one, since that detail came from one of the criminals involved in the heist,” Peter told him. Tony nodded.
“Good job, kid,” he said. Peter smiled and nodded. “Now you better get home before your aunt notices you’re gone,”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tommy felt like he was on the moon. He stopped a pretty cool bank robbery. He didn’t get shot which was awesome. Tommy quite liked being alive thank you very much. Sure his school day was horrible, but what can you do about that. He didn’t do the rest of his normal route as he was swamped with homework. So after he flew away from the bank, he quickly retraced his steps back to where he left his backpack.

Luckily for him, no one had stolen his bag. That in itself was rare. Thinking back on it, Tommy really shouldn’t have left his bag in a random alley. He really wasn’t the brightest somedays. He should work on his common sense a bit more.

After he had quickly changed back into his regular clothes, a blue sweater and jeans, he walked to the nearest park. It was always easier for him to work in the outdoors. After sending a quick text to his dad that he wouldn’t be home for a bit, Tommy found a secluded spot to work in. It was just underneath a small tree near the center of the park. He turned down the volume in his headphones and got to work.

His homework wasn’t too hard, it was just the amount. He had stuff for LA, History, and most of his sciences. Tommy decided to knock out stuff from his LA first. It wasn’t his strongest subject so it would probably take him longer. It wasn’t long before the park started to fill up. A mixture of younger kids and teens flooded the park around 4. Everyone had their groups and it made Tommy miss his friends from the UK even more.

They all swore to keep in contact, but it was hard with the time difference. Tommy probably would be less lonely if he actually made more of an effort to make new friends, but he missed his old friends too much to do that. Life kind of sucked.

But as he predicted, his homework didn’t take that long to do. He had finished most of it by 5:30. He had to stop as Phil texted him saying dinner was almost ready. So he packed up his mess of papers and notebooks and left the park. As he walked out he saw a group of kids around his age joking around. He wished he could do that. The friends that he left behind in the UK would have made this place so much better even though he would still have to hide his powers and the fact he was a vigilante from them.

The walk home was quiet apart from the music from his headphones, and so was the house when Tommy first walked in. Immediately, as he stepped out of the front entry, the chaos that was Wilbur and Techno bombarded him with questions that, to Tommy, seemed a little weird for them.

“Tommy! Lovely to see you!” “How was school?” “did you make any friends?” “Was the park busy?” “I hope you weren't too cold on your way home.” “Ya! Did you have your jacket?”

Tommy started to walk back into the hall. This was definitely weird. “Why are you guys acting so nice?” he questioned as the twins leaned over him. “What do you want?”

“Well,” Wilbur started as he looked at Techno.

Tecno leaned over from beside Wil, “We may or may not have broken a few plates when setting the table”

The twins backed off just a little only for Tommy to hear a slight twinkle in Wilbur’s voice as he said, “If Phil asks what happened, we need you to say you tried to scare us when you came in which caused me to drop the plate.” So he was trying that trick.

Tommy rolled his eyes. “You know those fancy words don't work on me.” he leaned closer to the twins “But,” he could feel them start to listen, oh they were desperate. “I’ll do it if you clean and fold all my laundry for the next two weeks.” Techno visibly deflated, he hated laundry.

“One week” Wilbur countered. “And you can have a bit of our candy stash.”

Techno looked sharply at him “No! We are not sharing that!”

“Just a bit of it.” Wil said, “we have a ton anyway.” Techno nodded, “fine. But none of the chocolate coins.” it sounded like a good deal to Tommy, he may finally get another chance to find this mystery candy stash.

“Deal!” Tommy nodded as he shoved his way past the twins and into the living room. He dropped his bag on the floor and fell on the couch taking up all of the three-person space.

A sudden weight on his legs made him yelp and sit up to find Techno sitting on him smirking like he just won a bet. He reached for the remote and turned on the tv to what happened to be the news.

“Get off me you stupid prick!” Tommy shouted as he tried to push his brother off of him. Techno didn’t budge. “Fuck you!” Tommy screamed. Techno just continued to scroll through the tv channels. Apparently, nothing interesting was on as he just clicked back on the news channel. Techno turned to Tommy with an evil grin on his face. Luckily Phil saved him.

“Boys! Dinner is ready!” Phil’s yell came from the kitchen. Tommy pushed Techno off of him. He landed on the ground with a thud. And then all of the sudden Tommy was on the ground, have been pulled there by Techno, and his brother was booking it down the hall. Tommy rolled his eyes. No matter how much Techno denied it, they all knew he had a playful side.

Dinner that night was simple. Just spaghetti and meatballs. But it was still delicious. The discussion around the table was just Phil asking them how their day was. Wil, instead of paying attention in class, was writing a new song. That didn’t surprise Tommy or anyone in their family. Techno, on the other hand, was reading The Art of War. That also didn’t surprise any of them.

His day was boring as well. Just school. There was no way in hell would he be mentioning the robbery. His dad would be incredibly disappointed. He specifically told them to stay out of the spotlight while they were still kids, and Tommy did exactly the opposite today.

Sounds from the news channel filtered in through the open door. “-stopped by a brand new vigilante, earlier today.” Tommy swallowed, he had a feeling he knew what the news was talking about. Something his dad probably wasn’t going to be too happy about, It seemed it wasn’t just him who heard it, as Phil had stopped eating and looked up when it said ‘new vigilante’.

“This new vigilante has been reported to have wings-” the rest of the sentence got drowned out by the overwhelming silence. His family had all stopped eating and turned to stare at him. He chuckled lightly. He knew he wouldn’t get in too much trouble, but he would have to suffer the ‘disappointed’ dad look.

“Care to explain, Tommy?” Phil asked. His eyebrow was raised and was very much concerned.

Tommy stuttered. How could he explain this without sounding like too much of an idiot? “Well, you see here, there was this robbery earlier,” his dad gave him a ‘no shit Sherlock’ face. Techno and Wilbur were holding back smirks, he could tell. “And I just so happened to be nearby, and I thought, well the construction would delay the police and the robbers could’ve been gone by then.” His dad nodded. Ok, maybe he won’t be getting into as much trouble as he thought. The worst-case scenario at this point was that the suit would be taken away for around two weeks, maybe a bit more.

“But what I didn’t account for was the news stations and their persistent reporters.” He was phrasing this well, Tommy thought. “And, the police arrived just as I was leaving. So I was quite efficient if I do say myself.” His dad sat in thought for a minute. Tommy prayed that he wasn’t about to get grounded too bad. He had broken the biggest rule of his dad’s. Don’t do anything in public or during the day.

The news story was still playing in the background. It was recounting the story far more in-depth than Tommy had explained it as. But it did give him information even he didn’t know. “And our Friendly Neighbour-hood Spider-Man dropped in shortly after this new winged hero left. From what we have been able to gather, he was gathering information on this new vigilante from the robbers. We don’t know what he plans to do with it, we can only speculate.” Tommy stopped eating. That could be a problem.

“Ok, in my defence, I didn’t know about that,” his family stared at him. “I’m sorry ok! I didn’t mean for this to happen!” Why were they just staring at him? He took a deep breath and cleared his head. He was ok, just had a bit of a mental breakdown there.

“I’m not mad at you Tommy,” his dad always had a calming voice. “It’s just a lot to adjust to. I might need to re-think some plans I had made.” Tommy’s breath returned to normal. “But, I am going to take your suit away. You were being reckless. It will only be for a week and a bit. Just so that things calm down and people hopefully forget about the incident.” That wasn’t too bad. Hopefully, nothing else would happen and they could continue their normal vigilante family. Hopefully, they wouldn’t come into any contact with the Avengers for a while.

In hindsight, it was a foolish hope.
