A Plan... (If you can call it that)
September 10th
Friday
Steve was sitting off to the side on one of the only accessible desks listening in on the ongoing conversation.
Which was between Tony and Natasha who were deciding on what to do. Thor making a suggestion every once and a while and the two of them would talk it over.
This had been going on for a good while now, and Steve was sure they were going to do nothing productive today, or maybe any other day.
So he continued to pick out objects in the room and draw them to the best of his ability.
“Look we are going nowhere with this” Natasha sighed shaking her head
“Well maybe having freshman running this entire club wasn't the best idea” Clint stated sarcastically
“Does anyone know where Carol might have gone?” someone asked, Steve wasn't too sure
“She said she had tryouts”
“Tryouts could mean literally anything.” Thor stated loudly, "Lots of sports require tryouts to get in”
“So we have no idea where Carol could be.” Clint announced and somehow slumped even further into the floor.
“What about you? You’ve been offly quiet.” Tony said turning himself to Steve's direction.
“Do you have any ideas?”
They turned over to look at Steve, who set his pencil down on his notebook.
“If I had any ideas I would have said them already”
“Well, shy people tend to not want to talk even if they have something they want to say” Tony countered
“Well I'm not shy, I just don't like talking to people I don't know” He stated
“Seems counterproductive.”
The room went quiet for a bit again. Nobody really knowing what to say or not wanting to talk. So they just ended back to square one.
Just the sounds of pen clicking, and rhythmic taps on the table. It wasn't an awkward silence like before but more of a tense silence.
Someone walked over to the window. Steve didn't care to check.
“We could start with on-campus cleaning.” The kid, it was the one he didn't know the name of
“Like we can figure out which areas on the campus and the most populated and get the most dirty and clean them up.”
There was more silence before a loud clap
“Good suggestion Bruce!” Thor congratulated (so his name was Bruce)
"Let me expand on that. How about for this first week or so we take notes of the school and write them down on the chalkboard, and on Friday next week we can meet back up and discuss what we've observed”
“Carol said we needed to meet up twice a week.” Natasha countered, getting a kick in the leg by Clint
“We can meet up on Monday and briefly discuss what areas of the school we each observe. So we don't run into each other and we can take up more ground.” Thor said
“That is. That's a solid plan.”
“Ok, I say we can split for today.”
As the group dispersed, Steve let the thoughts in his head stir.
It was the first day of school. What was there to study? He could get a head start maybe.
Or he could do some early scouting. Why spend an hour studying when he could use this time to do something productive.
Before leaving Steve looked over the classroom again.
It was definitely an odd classroom.
