Chapter 5

“Going to my place first. Gotta get something.” Jake said after climbing on the back on Blades bike.

“We’ll wait there until it gets dark to look.”

“Yeah, can’t have people seeing those fangs of yours.” Jake reached his hand up to Blades mouth.

“Hey!” Blade whacked his hand away.

They made it to Jakes apartment. He unlocked the door and locked it again after letting Blade past. “You want a drink?” Jake grinned his way.

“I’m good for now.” Blade crossed his arms over his chest.

“You know, if you need it. Don’t hesitate.” Jake sat down on a chair. “We’ll be here a while so sit down.”

Meanwhile Danny had watched Jake return with someone else. He didn’t know who they were, they carried a sword and guns.

“You seen who it was yet?” Danny spoke up.

“Forgot you were here. No, going out to look tonight.” Jake replied. “Ah.” He pointed to Blade.

“B’s gonna help. He’s an expert on vampires. Knows all about them. Isn’t that right B.” Jake smirked.

“You the one that’s being targeted by a vampire?” Blade asked.

“Yeah, if it wasn’t for Mr Knight, I’d have been dead.”

“Hey Jake? When’s Marc retuning? I prefer him than you.”

“You’d really want Marc instead of me?”

Jake sighed then zoned out for a few seconds.

“What-“ Marc muttered after seeing that the mask wasn’t on. He pulled it over his head, covering their face.

“Blade.”

“Marc.”

“You want any blood?” Marc offered.

“I’m fine. I have substitutes remember.” Blade sat down.

“Blood?” Repeatedly Danny.

“Yeah, B’s a vampire himself. One of the best actually. Well, the best only when he drinks blood.” Marc filled him in.

“A vampire!” Danny jumped up.

“He’s a vampire hunter as well. Don’t worry, he’s not like them creatures you saw last night.”

“Marc, you should of left it at vampire hunter.” Blade added.

“And if he saw your fangs and panicked. At least now he knows you’re an expert.”

After about half an hour, Marc got up and stretched. “It’ll be about four hours until it gets dark, wanna walk around somewhere?” They asked Blade. “Danny will have to stay here.”

“And where would somewhere be?”

“Spy on the Avengers.” Marc said.

“Why would you want to spy on them?”

“I may or may not have got their attention and now they see Moon Knight as a possible enemy.”

“I’m not helping with whatever that is. But we can walk to a corner I’ve been seeking out for a while.”

“Where’s it at?” Marc asked.

“I hate to say this but it’s opposite Avengers tower.”

“Alright.” Marc agreed.

They both looked at Danny. “Stay here, won’t be long.” Marc has said.

— 🌙 —

Instead of running and jumping over buildings, they decided to actually walk to the place. It was about a 20 minute walk to their destination.

It took them not even five minutes to clear the small vampire hideout. There wasn’t that many in. The vampires had been taking people to certain locations for a while and this was the last of the few that Blade cleared.

“That didn’t take long.” Marc commented. “Want to get a coffee? Take one back for Danny.”

“I don’t drink coffee, but sure.” Blade shrugged.

They reached the nearest coffee shop and waited in line.

“So what do you drink then?” Marc asked.

Blade decided not to answer. Instead flashed his fangs at Marc.

Marc had ordered two drinks, one was for Danny. They went to walk out of the shop when Marc saw a familiar face about to enter.

“Not now.” He moaned.

“What—“ Blade was cut off by someone stopping in front of them.

“It’s you!” They whispered loudly.

“What?” Marc replied. “What’s me?” They thought It’d be best to just continue walking away.

However the guy glanced over his shoulder at them twice before following them from a distance.

“He’s following us.” Blade noted.

“Yeah, annoying little spider that’s what he is.” Marc mumbled.

“Oh, he’s just stopped.”

“He’ll just be changing into his suit. It’s Spider-Kid. Here, take these back, I don’t want him knowing where I’m living.” Marc handed Blade the drinks.

After a few minutes, Marc had seen Spider-Man above. He should really work on his stealth Marc thought.

“I know you’re following me.” Marc tilted his head in Peters direction. “What do you want?”

Peter jumped down to face Mr Knight.

“You’re the caped guy from the other night aren’t you?”

“No. I’m Mr Knight.”

“What are you doing?” Peter asked.

“So you can tell the avengers? I’m helping someone. Can you stop following me now.” Marc turned to continue walking.

“Hey! Um...do you want to visit the Avengers tower?”

“No. Tell arrows I said hi.” Mr knight waved.

As soon as Marc rounded a corner, they immediately started running towards their apartment.

— 🌙 —

Panting, Marc frantically shut the door behind him.

“Did he follow you?” Danny asked.

“Nah, I doubt even the spider can follow me when I’m frantically running away.” Marc sat down on the floor. “We got a few hours left before it’ll be dark.”

“You gonna put the other suit on?” Blade asked.

“It’s not clean.” Marc pointed at the folded suit.

“It’ll be dark anyway.”

Marc had changed into Moon Knight suit. “Better?”

“More protected.” Blade nodded.

— 🌙 —

Eventually it got dark, so Blade and Moon Knight headed out to the alleyway that the vampire was last seen. They had no idea if they’d even show up randomly. Probably not if they were after Danny.

“Should of used Danny as bait.” Marc noted. Blade cursed himself for knowing that Moon Knight was right.

“You stay here, do not move from here. I’m going to get the bait.” Blade pointed at Moon Knights feet before fleeing back to the apartment.

“Yeesh, yes sir.”

In the distance Moon Knight could hear footsteps get louder and louder as they got closer. There was multiple, running from something. So Moon Knight disobeyed that one thing Blade told them to do and went to investigate the sound.

They came to a halt not far from where they were. There was three people, two were armed and the other was someone young who cowered in fear.

“Hey!” MK got their attention.

“Oh no, no no. Please, no.” One of them shuddered, slowly backing away. “Please, I don’t want to die like this.”

“That’s a shame.” With each step MK took, the guy began to cry. “Liked it better when you were screaming.”

While the first guy was busy, the second escaped. Although, they didn’t get very far before being glued to the wall.

“Please! I don’t want to stay here with them around. Not again!” They struggled.

“With who? What’s happening?”

“Please, I don’t...I don’t want to die like this.” They cried.

“Who?!”

They got no more words from them since they were now a crying mess.

Spider-Man jumped up to the roof of the building to look down at the alleyway. His eyes went wide when he realised who it was. He crawled down the side of the building, making sure he can’t be spotted.

Spidey saw the damage. It was brutal. The guy was missing a hand. Had a severe broken leg and Peter definitely felt like throwing up. He was about to go down until his hearing picked up someone near by. They were looking for the caped one.

“I told you not to move!” They shouted. “You haven’t killed anyone in the time I was gone have you?” Blade rounded the corner and saw the scene in front of him.

“I knew it.” He crossed his arms. “He’s against being used as bait. We’ll have to find another way.”

“Just knock him out and drag him here.” Moon Knight shrugged.

“That’s a terrible idea.” Blade tilted his head. “What have you done.” He scolded. “You know the other guy escaped.”

“Yeah, aren’t they the unlucky ones.”

“Marc.”

“B.” Marc looked his way.

“You’ve made one hell of a crime scene. You’re going back right now.” He sighed. “Just. Just keep Danny safe for now. I’ll deal with the vampire.”

K: “But aren’t you a vampire hunter as well?”

“Yeah.” Marc nodded.

K: “Then what are you waiting for my son. There’s one right there.”

“Ok, make sure you—“ Blade was cut off.

“You’re asking me to kill a friend!” Marc shouted at the space where he could see Khonshu.

K: “We can do this our way. Other people only get in our way.”

“No no no no. Stop. Stop talking. You bird!” Marc kicked the wall where Khonshu stood.

Meanwhile Spider-Man is still watching the whole thing.

“Marc. Come on.” Blade started walking away. “Tell your god to go do one.”

Spider-Man crept above them, following them. But they came to a stop.

“What?” Marc asked.

“Shh, I can hear someone following us.” Blade whispered.

“Where?”

Blade pointed up to the roofs where Peter was.

Marc glared at the roofs before making a turn in a different direction.

“You’re leading them to the tower aren’t you?” Blade laughed.

“Ah, come on. Just leading the kid back home.”

They both stood outside of the tower. Staring up at it.

Spider-Man swung from behind them, now standing in front of them.

“You are coming in here and we are going to find out who you are!” Spidey grabbed Moon Knight with some webbing and yanked them inside.

“Listen kid, I’ve got stuff to take care of. Vampires to kill, again. So either this is quick or I’m going to jump out a window.”

“How do we not know you?” Peter questioned. “Blade I’ve heard of, but you. Literally nothing.”

“Good.” MK said as they were being dragged to the elevator.
