Chapter 6

Blade paced back and forwards in front of the tower before deciding it’d be best for him not to be waiting for MK to escape.

He made it back to the apartment and made sure Danny had some protection if the vampire found out where he was.

“Where’s the other guy?” Danny asked.

“Something happened, they got caught by Spider-Man and he’s dragged them into Avengers tower.”

Back at Avengers tower, the elevator stopped on the main floor where they relax.

Clint had been laying on the couch when he saw who Peter had dragged in. “Whoa! Hey! Why’d you bring them here?!” He jumped up.

“I caught them. See.” He gestured to the webbing around them.

Clint sighed, looking around the room then back at Peter. “Tony said he didn’t want you near this guy.”

“I know. I just. They did someone bad. Like really bad.” He whispered.

“I can hear you.” MK spoke.

“Who are you?” Clint asked.

“I don’t know.” MK shrugged.

“What’s going on?” A voice from behind interrupted.

“Spidey here caught himself something.” Clint moved out of the way to let Tony see.

Tony dragged a hand down his face. “Just.” He breathed. “Put them in here, I’ll question them and you.” He pointed to Peter. “Will not be going near them.”

“Clint. Get Steve.” He finished before going back to the other room.

— 🌙 —

“Who are you? What’s your name?” Tony asked causally. He sat opposite them, fiddling with a pen.

“If you say I don’t know one more time...” Clint mumbled.

Moon Knight drifted their gaze to the empty space. Looking at Khonshu.

“What do you want now? You already got me caught!” They slammed their fists onto the table.

K: “Me? What are you doing? Letting yourself get caught so easily my son.”

“I’m sorry.”

K: “Now get us out of here.”

“Can’t you?” They laughed.

K: “You are capable enough.”

“I know.” They chuckled, switching their gaze back to Tony. Khonshu was watching on.

“Uhh...” Tony blinked. “I only asked for your name.”

“Oh, right. I am the fist of Khonshu. The Moon Knight.” MK replied.

“Never heard of you.” Tony stated.

“Good.”

“So, you see things? Or are you just crazy.” Tony asked curiously.

“Both.” They said plainly, taking a glance at Khonshu.

“Right... So who or what do you see?”

“I see nothing.”

“Yeah...Seriously though.”

“No more questions. I was busy. I need to help someone who is being targeted by a vampire!” They stood up to leave.

“The kid said you made quite a mess. But we can’t do anything. We’re Avengers. That doesn’t mean what you do is right though.” Tony pointed.

“I don’t approve of your ways. But if you need help maybe we can set a better example.” Steve offered.

“Only if you can get me a good therapist. The other one tried to kill me.” Marc said.

“Do we get to see under that mask?” Clint asked.

“In your dreams arrows. I never take this off.”

“That’s incredibly unhygienic, coming from me.” Clint scrunched his nose.

“I might come back tomorrow, see what you have on vampires around the area.” Moon Knight ran out the building after that.

“If you overlook the insane amount of violence that guy does, they seem decent enough.” Clint said.

“Clint. What they do is wrong and it makes them just as bad as the criminals, maybe worse.” Steve snapped.

“Maybe we can help them? Help them see the good they can do. The less fatal option to do stuff.” Peter chimed in after overhearing the entire thing.

“It’s worth a try.” Clint hoped Peter was right. But a part of him really knew how someone like that can’t be changed or influenced that easily. “They did say that they’d be back tomorrow. We just need to get the information on the vampires.”

“Peter, didn’t you say Blade was with them?” Clint asked him.

“Yeah, they were talking one minute then the next Moon Knight kicked the wall full force. Blade had used a name. Their name.”

“What was it?” Tony urged.

“I don’t want to be the one to let it out. That’s not being respectful, even if their way isn’t right. I wouldn’t like it if someone revealed my identity.”

“Yeah, that’s fair.” Tony turned his attention to his phone. “Wait, they said they were the fist of Khonshu. Anyone know who that is?” He questioned. Tony immediately started typing on his phone, bringing up something. “Khonshu is a god.” He put it simply.

“There’s an old article on here that’s about a soldier who died in the desert where the statue of Khonshu is located. However not long after, the Moon Knight appeared but as a mercenary.” Tony covered his mouth after reading the next bit. “The soldier was Marc Spector.”

Steve stared in confusion at the screen. “But he...”

“Yeah. The one that I invited round for a drink, well it wasn’t Marc at the time.” Tony said. “Oh, it says Marc became a mercenary.”

“But he died.”

“What if, and Steve you better stay with me on this. What if Marc was brought back by Khonshu. That’s why the only thing you get when you search up the name Marc Spector, you get his death.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t mess with them. Since they have a god on their side who clearly favours them.” Clint added. “Just stay on their good side. They already don’t like you or Peter.” They pointed to Tony. “Says the kid’s annoying.”

“I am not annoying.” Peter whined.

“Really selling that their kid.” Clint joked.

“Should we tell Marc we know? Or keep this to ourselves?” Steve wondered.

“Best to keep this to ourselves. For now. Don’t know how someone like that will react.” Tony replied.
