Chapter 1

— 🌙 —

Moonlight flooded the city, helped by the streetlights which lit up in patterns. Billboards advertising the latest product blinded the passers by, probably wishing they were either out drinking or in bed right now.

It was quite late, almost half past 10 to be exact. So Spider-Man shouldn’t be out right now, but Peter being Peter had snuck out.

He was currently staying at the avengers tower for the weekend. They agreed to help him train as well as making sure he follows the rules Aunt May left for him.

Sure, he shouldn’t be out right now. But Peter felt as if something was going to happen, his spider sense was making him frantic all day. So finally waiting for the right moment, he went out to investigate why.

After searching the streets and found nothing, he wished he just stayed inside. It was getting colder and in order to not have Tony tracking him, he wore his homemade suit, as well as an extra hoodie over the top.

He rounded a corner quickly after hearing screams. It was blood curdling, as if a monster was loose and the people were fearing for their lives.

What Peter saw almost made him turn around and throw up. His stomach turned at the sight.

Three people were sprawled out on the ground, barely recognisable. Their faces were brutally smashed in, one of them was missing a few fingers. Two of them had broken legs.

There was a fourth that was currently underneath the creature in white. The cause of all this Peter thought.

After giving one last spiked blow to the fourths head. The creature in white turned around to stare, or at least face towards Spider-Man.

Blood splattered all over them caused Peters spidey sense to warn him. Blood was dripping from their fists as they slowly stood up.

“Hey! You can’t do that!” Peter tried to scold them but they just tried to run away.

Peter instantly webbed them to the nearest wall and tried to scold them again.

“There are other ways to bring them down, not like this. Are they even criminals?!” Spidey began to back away as his spidey sense warned him in time to jump, avoiding a sharp moon shape aimed at his legs.

“Hey! Get back here!”

By then, they disappeared into the shadows.

Peter sighed and thought it’d be best to return.

When he arrived at the tower, entering by sneaking through. Which failed due to the high security that place has.

Jarvis had informed Tony of Peter returning. “Sir, Peter has returned. He’s making his way up now. Would you like me to tell him you’ll be waiting?”

“No.” After putting down his tools, Tony walked out of the lab and made his way to the main room. Patiently waiting for the elevator door to ding.

Peter walked through the doors, head down. He heard a noise, footsteps maybe? So he jumped up to the ceiling and began to crawl across to the other side to get to his room.

“What are you doing Peter?” Tony called out, startling Peter that he fell feet first on the floor.

“It’s late, you shouldn’t have gone out. If something happened and we didn’t know. You’re not even wearing the suit I made for you!” Tony dragged a hand down his face and sat up, making his way towards Peter. “Listen, I just don’t want you going off if we don’t know where you are.”

“I’m sorry.” Was all Peter said before heading to his room.

Meanwhile, after Spider-Man left to go home, the mystery person had followed him from a distance. They had heard a rumour that Spider-Man had joined the avengers and just wanted to know if it was actually true.
