Divergence

Tony Stark truly expected that he would die in a banged-up spaceship, stranded a million light-years away from home. Instead, Tony wakes up 10 years in the past and only hours away from that fateful trip to Afghanistan. Now, he is desperate to use this opportunity to atone for past mistakes and to create a better future for the people he loves. But to do that is harder said than done when you don't know whom to trust, and you have a compromised SHIELD and a very alive Obadiah Stane to deal with.

It's been a while since I wrote long-form fanfic. I put up my fanfic writing hat when I abandoned my Harry Potter/Batman crossover series 'Amalgamation'. However, as I re-entered MCU fandom after a two-year hiatus, it turns out I still had some anger over the death of Tony Stark and this fanfic is the result of that anger. It doesn't help that I'm addicted to reading time travel fix it but they are not enough fanfics that go all the way back to the very beginning of Iron Man's origins. A lot of the seeds that were sown in Iron man movies had long-reaching consequences and shaped the fate of the overall series. I want to thank first my beta and one of my favorite people theseancequeen for beating my ADHD/Dyslexic mess of a chapter into shape and for rooting for me the loudest when I came up with this batshit idea.
