You Gon' Have to Go through the Pain
"As a child, I was very in love with the stars. As a human, a victim of my perceptions, it is natural that I should love light. And as a passive dreamer, it is natural that I should be attracted to the most distant inaccessible light." --Eileen Myles
"What is Midgard like?" Hel asked.
"It is beautiful," Thor said.
Loki was amused. "Not as glorious as Asgard."
"The sky is blue," Thor continued. "The plants are green."
Like Oma's eye? Jörmungandr asked.
Thor nodded. "And yours."
"Will we live in another cage?" Hel asked.
Loki hugged his daughter. "We shall never be caged again."
Where shall we live then? Jö asked.
"I do not know yet," Loki said.
"B-But we happy?" Narfi asked.
Loki kissed her forehead. He hoped so.
"Will he be with us?" Hel asked, eyeing Thor warily.
Loki shrugged. He did not know what Thor was planning.
Thor was the rightful heir to the throne; he could not deny his responsibilities.
Loki didn't envy him anymore. He just wanted to be with his children.
Thor was silent as he watched over them.
How many times had he prayed to the Norns?
Loki prayed once more. He didn't pray for himself; he prayed for his children.
But his children had suffered enough.
He was not foolish to think that the Avengers would welcome him. He only hoped that they would not hold his actions against his children.
Perhaps, they would offer a better prison than the Aldafaðr...
Loki's arms tightened around his children. He never wanted to let go of them.
