I Wish Somebody Woulda Told Me
”What can I say that will enable you to understand the depth of my sorrow?” —Mary Shelley
They could not be discovered so soon!
Thor had hoped that Odin would not discover their escape until they were off planet.
The footsteps were coming closer and closer.
Thor’s nostrils burned from Loki and the pups’ terror. He just wanted to keep them safe.
The footsteps came to a halt.
Thor looked up expecting the worst—
Loki burst into tears. “Mama!”
Frigga’s eyes filled with tears. “My darling boys.”
“How did you find us?” Thor asked.
“Heimdall whispered in my ear,” Frigga said. “He told me what you are planning.”
”Father has not discovered us?” Thor asked.
Frigga shook her head. “I am throwing a banquet. Your father has been busy seeing to it.”
It was the perfect distraction.
“There is not much time,” Frigga whispered. “But I need you both to know how much I love you. You have always been my burning sun and my night full of stars.” Frigga kissed Thor’s forehead. She knelt before Loki. She stared at her grandchildren with tears in her eyes. “I should have known—I should have protected you.”
Loki cried. He wanted her to know them.
Frigga kissed his cheek. “No matter where you go you will always be my son. Now, you must go.”
Thor helped Loki to his feet. He did not know how fate had turned, but he would do whatever he could to face it.
