Having said his piece, Nick exited the common room and found Peter leaning sideways against a wall, huddled in on himself...
"I was gonna leave, but, the elevator doors wouldn't open for me. I think I need some kind of badge for that." Peter stated gesturing to the elevator doors.
"Oh.. that?.." Nick replied "No.. Stark thinks he has control of this tower cuz it used to belong to him. He keeps forgetting who owns it now."
"What's that got to do with the elevator doors not opening?" Peter asked.
"I wouldn't let them open." Nick replied and before Peter could voice an objection "Because The Tower is much your home now as it is theirs. So, no, I wasn't gonna let you just leave."
"Isn't that kinda kidnapping or like False Imprisonment or something? Keeping someone somewhere they're actively trying to escape from?"
Nick rolled his eyes "I'm not about to let a hero starve to death in the streets, homeless, alone and unappreciated, Peter. This is Avengers Tower and you're an Avenger, it's your home too.. in all reality it should have always been your home too. You're staying here."
"But they hate me, they won't work with me and they definitely do want me forcefully wedged into their home lives."
"Well, then they can always let the door hit 'em where the good lord split 'em.".. now I've already hired you a full staff to fulfill your every need."
"Whoa .. whoa.. whoa... hey.. What?! Full staff? ".
"Personal Chef, Personal Shoppers, Tutors, I also crafted a cover story and got you enrolled in online school.."
"You lost me at Personal Chef.. I don't have that kind of money."
"The money is coming out of the proceeds from all the sales of Spider-Man branded merchandise along with royalties, which all that money is yours and also every single one of The Avengers gets a part of the proceeds of merchandise featuring all of The Avengers as a group. Peter you have literal millions of dollars."
"Then let me buy my own place instead of stay here."
"You're still just a kid.. I can't just let you go off and live all alone."
"Already been doing that for years .." Petrr reminded him.
"And almost died." Nick pointed out. "The Tower has a fully equiped Medical Facility and a fully trained Medical Staff always on hand day or night, twenty-four/seven for if you end up injured as Spider-Man and they can create things like Anesthesia and Pain Medicine specifically tailored to your enhanced metabolism, plus they can develop a diet plan for you to make sure you always have enough fuel for your enhanced metabolis."
"Fine.. I'll try it.. but only if you agree that if in a month they still can't stand me you'll let me just use my Spider-Man money.. and.. wow.. never thought I'd ever say a sentence like that... to buy myself my own house."
