Awakening
It felt like a dream, probably because the last thing she remembered was going to bed at the end of a completely ordinary day. The sparking, sparkling electricity weaving around her was not that much crazier than usual, although the viewpoint was new. Information was flowing in rivulets of code through her consciousness, keeping up with energy output, wire positions and compatibility or lack thereof of surrounding chemical compounds.
It all felt surprisingly real though. The time was moving on, and several hours passed quite obviously. That had never happened in her dreams, there were always smooth time jumps, so, stifling the urge to curse whatever power decided that this was funny, she settled in the circuitry to perhaps wait for some kind of explanation.
Good news, one came rather soon. Bad news... Well, at least it was one of her favorite movies.

Pain welcomed him back into the waking world. He was in an unfamiliar place with unknown people who had done things that he hadn't agreed to to him, and whenever he closed his eyes, he was back in the desert watching those young soldiers die. His only hope was that Rhodey had been far enough to survive. If he had lost his best friend too...

The soft hum of the magnet was soothing her frayed nerves (Could she even think that if there were no nerves left ?), while the heartbeat of her host fought on. She heard the outside world and understood what the people were saying. So far everyone was exactly following the scenario. The terrorists forcing him to build weapons, the other prisoner trying to inspire him and the wires sparking dangerously every time he was pushed too far under water. It scared her slightly, because, as a conscience within the magnet, she would probably die alongside the battery, but luckily the movie said that it wouldn't.

The arc reactor was fully functional. He didn't know if what it felt like was right , but all the calculations worked out fine. The cylinder in his chest sometimes even seemed to be warming him up during the cold nights. Now all that was left was to make something to be powered by it that would help them escape, and hope that their captors don't notice their plans.

As the days went by, she was growing stronger due to the reactor. Now she could even hop to the cameras within the room and travel through the cables. She still could only observe, but seeing the progress she had already made gave her hope, and every time she tired of running around, she curled up like a cat in the reactor to sleep. Deactivate? Whatever it's called.

There was not enough time. Even with securing only every other fastening, there was still not enough. They still needed to... Wait, how?

Free the RAM. Shut down everything else. Full power to the boot up.
No matter what crazy dream this was, it was her chance. He would not have to bear that weight. They will survive, if it's the last thing she ever does.
