4.0 Beck's Big Break

The next few months were calm as Siva started to recover from his brain injury. He was incredibly lucky that the cane was wood because he could have had irreversible damage done to him if that wasn't the case. He healed almost completely but did have some lingering symptoms that would most likely not go away for awhile, if at all. He was still having seizures, anxiety, and migraines but they could all be controlled with medication so he was okay if those symptoms stayed with him for the rest of his life. The only thing that couldn't be remedied with medication was the fact that he is still immunocompromised and could possibly stay that way for several years, even decades.

Everyone was relieved when he gradually stopped fainting suddenly as well as his body going weak. They celebrated the night the doctors said that he was allowed to dance again. The anxiety that everyone felt when thinking about Siva having to leave Hollywood Arts due to an injury was finally gone. He was quickly the top of his dance classes again, working out and training every day to get back into shape and become better than before.

Siva wasn't the only one who was getting better and better at their craft, Beck is auditioning for the new movie, Miss Fire. Moose and Siva are extremely proud of him and are convinced that this will be his big break. The audition was soon so he was going over his lines at lunch, Siva laying on his bicep when Cat came over and tried to take them.

"Ooh! Script pages! What are you auditioning for?"

Beck chuckled and gently took the script back from her, "Not for you, thōḍuṁ lāla, and it's for a movie called Miss Fire. It's about this woman cop who gets fired and then goes on this crazy rampage."

Jade, having walked over during his explanation, responds," That's so cool, I hope she kills a few people on the way."

Cat giggled at her girlfriends dark humor then asked, "So who plays the woman cop?"

"Paget Brewster."

"Oh wow, she is such an amazing actress, that would be such an amazing experience for you!" Andre gushes, happy for his friend.

"So can we see the script," Cat and Jade asked simultaneously.

"Nope."

The next day, Beck is seen gently guiding a groggy Siva so they can get to their first class. Siva had stayed up until midnight waiting for Beck to get home so he could ask him about the audition. Moose was not very happy with him for compromising his health for something so simple but knew that Siva probably wouldn't have slept before then anyway due to worry. They all met up in the main hallway, next to the vending machines.

Beck smirked at the two girls in the group, "Hey, you guys said you wanted to read the script?"

Everyone lit up, "You got the part!!"

Everyone was in Sikowitz' class learning about using emotion in dialogue when Beck came walking in 15 minutes late with great news for everyone in the room. They were all going to be extras in the movie and the directors decided to give Beck a bigger part.

Instead of a waiter with only a few lines they decided to switch his role to the main leads son who was kidnapped six years ago and she became obsessed with finding him and arresting his kidnapper, This was decided when Paget and Beck met each other and everyone could tell they looked more alike than the guy who was supposed to be the son. Him and Paget connected almost instantly and the director decided to let that natural chemistry come into play in the movie instead of the array of emotions the son is supposed to feel to be stunted.

At the moment they were filming the scene where Paget's character meets her former partner at a fancy restaurant, the group of friends as extras for this scene.

The scene starts with Jeff's character, the former partner, speaking first, "Why do you have such a disgusted look on your face?"

Paget scoffs, "Because I'm having dinner with you."

Jeff points at her, "See, that's the kind of attitude that got you fired."

Paget laughs bitterly, "No, I got fired because you told the lieutenant that I was erratic and too obsessed with finding my son to the point that I was apathetic towards victims."

"That's because you are erratic and obsessed!"

"What's so wrong with a mother wanting to find her child!" She cried, standing abruptly and leaving the restaurant.

She rushes out only to run into a teenager and a person who seems to be his father. She hears the boy gasp and whisper something under his breath. The large man then starts apologizing, grabbing the teen by the shoulders harshly and roughly dragging him along the sidewalk, away from her.

She watches them go, confused, until the teen looks back at her and she knew.

That was her baby boy.

She immediately goes to her car to follow the man who has her son, loading her gun as she drives slowly.

The scene shifts to the son and his kidnapper. The large man drags him down a flight of stairs down to a dark and barren basement with only a bare mattress on the floor and chains on the walls. This has been the teens room for the past six years of his life.

The large man then cuffs his wrists together behind his back and then shackles his ankle to the cement wall, muttering to himself all the while about how he knew that taking him outside was a bad idea. Feeling incredibly frustrated, the kidnapper starts taking his frustrations and anger out on the chained teen. He's in the middle of this when he feels a barrel of a gun on the side of his head. He freezes for a second only to be on the floor a half a second later with a bullet in his brain.

Paget kneels next to her son who is nearing unconsciousness and runs her fingers through his hair soothingly, "Matthew, honey, wake up."

He shifts a bit then groans at the pain he's in. When his vision clears, he sees someone he thought he would never see again.

"M-Mom?"

Paget breathes a sigh of relief, her son remembers her.

She nods, stroking his face soothingly, "Yes, baby, it's me. You're okay now. You're safe."

Then she looks into his eyes (the camera) and smiles, "Let's go home."

The group of friends are all in shock at the end of the premiere of the movie. They are all dressed to the nines in the large theatre, staring blankly as the credits roll. Siva is the first one to say something.

"Wow! That was amazing, manino tasi! You did so well," Siva gushed as he hugged his tall boyfriend.

Moose hugged them both, squeezing his loves tight, "I'm so proud of you both!"

Everyone starts praising the movie and Beck while he just smiles with tears in his eyes. He brings everyone into a group hug, then wipes his tears away as he laughs wetly.

"Thank you. You guys have no idea how much your support means to me."

Siva and Moose bring him into an intimate hug that was soon gently interrupted.

Paget smiled at the throuple then addressed Beck, "Beck, I wanted to be the one to tell you that the directors and producers decided that this should be a trilogy. Kind of like the Taken franchise or even the Mission Impossible movies. I can't wait to work more with you."

After she walked away, Beck turned to his boyfriends with a broad smile.

"You guys were right. This is my big break."
