The Start Of Something Greater
In this day and age, the Quirkless are a dying breed. This fact caused many laws to be made that prevent them from becoming something greater than a stepping stone in humanity’s evolution. While there were laws, there were also loopholes. With those loopholes, came the prime opportunity to start something massive. This was the driving motivation of three teens willing to fight back and become something greater.
Katsuki Bakugo sat in a bland waiting room. The thirteen year old finally fixed his tie, trying to think of anything other then his nerves. He managed to get out every wrinkle in his suit. Ruby colored eyes glanced to the clock, seeing that only a minute had passed since the last time he checked. The teen pulled out his phone and a voice started to speak from it.
“How are the breathing techniques helping sir?” The robotic voice came from Eagle, the A.I his friends and himself created. Bakugo shook his head.
“Not really working pal. Are the tests done over there?” With that asked, the screen changed. It now showed a girl with black hair typing away at a computer. She looked scarily thin.
“Kacchan, it’s gonna be alright. I just finished up the diagnostics and theoretical failure data. There is only a 3% chance of failure.” The girl turned to the camera and smiled. “You got this.” The smile helped calm his nerves just a tiny bit.
“Thanks Mochan… Show me the damn nerd.” The screen changed to show a green haired teen. He was currently scribbling away in a notebook. “Zuchan, square up.” Emerald eyes peered at the camera.
“Kacchan, just got word that everything is installed properly and everything is set up. Knock em dead.” With that, the screen changed back to Eagle’s standard user interface.
“Sir, you have been working on this before you even created me. If anyone can succeed, it’s you.” The red eyed teen finally let himself smile as his nerves faded away. With a deep breath, he stood up and grabbed the briefcase.
“Thanks Eagle. Put on the recorder, let’s destroy this.” As Katsuki slipped the phone into his pocket, two large doors opened. Out of the doors came the head of the company, a lawyer, and an electrician. The head of the company walked over to Katsuki and loomed over him. The teen put on the biggest smile he could muster. “Hello everyone. Didn’t realize I was gonna have multiple people as an audience.” The leading man chuckled.
“Well, just understand that you will have one Mr Bakugo. Especially since we’re talking about my building.”
“Hey, I know I’m young and new to this game, but I’m the new blood. I have everything under control. Now let me give you the presentation.” The blonde boy made his way to the elevator, the three others following behind him. He had to make sure he was in control the entire time, the minute he lost that element, he would fail. As they crammed into the elevator, Katsuki pressed the button for the basement.
The ride was quiet. Everyone stared right at the door and waited for the ding. Eagle was using this time to run extra tests on the data and send updates to the two other teens. Eventually, the doors opened and Katsuki led the way. The other men saw the large machine, and their jaws dropped. They stared at a large generator it seemed, it was cylindrical in appearance and glowed a light blue. Energy seemed to radiate off of the machine.
“Welcome to Bakugo Industries, the future of clean energy and security systems.” The teen waved his hand towards the machine. “And this, is the Arc Reactor. The new and best way of creating, using, and harnessing clean and renewable energy.” He watched as the men all walked up to the Arc Reactor. They were in stunned silence so he carried on. “This bad boy can power this building for the foreseeable future. Now you might ask, ‘How long will that be?’” He smirked as all eyes were on him. “The Arc Reactor can power this building for 800 years before needing a tune up.” The head of the company walked over to him.
“Katsuki Bakugo… What guarantee do I have that this won’t fail..?” Katsuki’s smirk grew wider as he walked over to a series of buttons.
“Because my good sir, you are my very first customer. You reached out to me since you wanted to help the environment. This will be step one. I want to give you and future generations the absolute best I can offer. You reached out to me, this new fish in the pond. So why would I half ass my first job?” If the smile on the head man was anything to go by, Katsuki had sold his very first product.
Momo Yaoyorozu and Izuku Midoriya were sitting on a couch. The two teens were playing Uno as they waited for Katsuki to get home. They were nervous as well, they couldn’t be there for their friend and it was getting to them. The black haired girl was the first one to throw her cards into the air.
“When is he getting here? Did something go wrong..?” Momo looked towards the door as she said that. Izuku turned his head towards it as well.
“If something went wrong, Eagle would’ve told us.” The girl sighed. “I get it… it’s very nerve wracking, but this is Kacchan. If anyone can do it, it’s him.” The green haired teen smiled wide, having full confidence in his friend. That said friend barged into the house, an even wider smile on his face.
“Boom bitches! Katsuki’s back from fucking war!” While the blonde teen could be subdued, he was mostly a loud and volatile person. Sighs escaped the other teens as he sat next to them. “And let’s just say, I fucking won.” He reached into the pocket of his suit and pulled out a piece of paper. The two teens zeroed in on it and saw the very large number. Izuku started to laugh.
“Holy shit…”
“Language.” “Language.” Eagle and Momo spoke at the same time. The paper was a check. With this check, Bakugo Industries could truly begin.
