Questions and introductions

The next day, Marianna asked for her pastries again, and Wesley obliged. He went down the elevator at about 6:00 am on this Friday morning and thought nothing of it. Seeing it as a simple job he could do to help service Mr. Fisk. He drove the big black Cadillac down to her shop. The blue sign of y/n’s shop barely visible with the morning sunlight peeking out from the roof.
As Wesley approached the store he saw her through the glass storefront, behind the counter rolling out a new batch of sugar cookies. Her H/C hair put up in a low ponytail, humming a bit of her favorite song to herself as Wesley came in.
“Good morning.” He said as he approached the counter. Y/n dusting off her hands and walking back to the register. “Good morning!” Y/n said with her same chipper smile and tone.
“If I could get the same two apple turnovers and the one cherry please.”
“Of course,” Y/n said as she grabbed the two with the tongs “Your total is 5.40.”
Wesley paid and gave his same thank you and his toothy grin.

Saturday

Fisk and Vanessa were both up and early this morning, there was a morning breakfast they had to attend at 8:00 which everyone agreed was simply too early.
But Wesley still found himself at Y/n’s bakery. He paused outside the door. Asking himself why he was here, he didn’t need anything, his employer didn’t need, so why was he here? Wesley couldn’t think of an answer besides he had gotten stuck in his schedule and had become so used to his routine that he found himself here, in the doorway of the aromatic bakery.
“God, did you have an existential crisis out there?“ Y/n said with a light laugh. “Excuse me?” Wesley asked genuinely. “Sorry! I mean you stood out there for like 5 minutes staring at me, dude” Y/n said, focusing on stocking up the showcase with her delicacies. “My apologies, really I didn’t mean to.” Wesley said, he hid his embarrassment well, but not well enough. “Oh really you’re fine! It’s no big deal!” Y/n said, breaking her focus on her task to make look at him. She never really had the time to recognize his handsomeness, he was slick and cool, and always suited up like he was ready to go to court. He didn’t look strong but he wasn’t weak either, a lean tall man really.
“We’ve never introduced ourselves, My name is James Wesley. I come every morning to get the pastries for my employer.”
“Oh! I’m Y/n Y/L/N! Uh I make the pastries for your employer!” She said with illuminating goofy smile. “Are you here to buy anything? You aren’t in your normal rush.”
“Of course I will! I won’t pass up a chance. One cherry turnover please.”
“Alrighty!” Y/n said as she handed it to him. “This one can be on me, Wesley.” Y/n said. “Well thank you very much” Wesley said as he walked out, waving goodbye.
As he walked back to the car, Wesley realized just how much she had changed his day. He could answer his question now. He knows why he went inside, well who he went inside for.
