Surprise.

About three weeks later…

Winter was just around the corner. The cold wind whipped around each street corner of Hell’s Kitchen, Y/n hated the cold, she always seemed to prefer spring or fall. The apricity of a winters day never was the same as the warmth of the sun on her skin on a breezy spring day.
Wesley on the other hand, loved the cold. The suit laden man seemed to always wear the same professional attire, which got quite hot in the summer time. He was always to busy to attend to ‘normal’ spring or summer type things. Like relaxing in the sun or swimming in lakes or simply an afternoon picnic. Hell, the last time he did any of those things was when he was living with his parents back in Massachusetts.

On this particularly chilly early November morning, Y/n was late to work. See over the past three weeks, Wesley grew to become Y/n’s first regular. Every morning he came in around 6:30 AM and ordered the regular two apple and one cherry turnover. and left at about 6:45. And if he had to be completely honest, those fifteen minutes were just about the best fifteen minutes of his day. Y/n was a ball of sunshine. Those fifteen minutes felt like a warm vanilla scented hug. And some days it seemed that’s exactly what he needed to get through his day.
So this morning, his schedule was disrupted. He parked his car where he always did and walked up to the shop as he normally did, and pulled the door handle to find it locked. He peered in the shop to find no Y/n and the showcase completely empty. Undoubtedly he was worried. So used to his line of work his anxiety ridden brain jumped to her being dead. Of course the rational side of his brain convinced him that the chances of that were simply too small. He decided that eventually he would have to move on and get to work. After all, Mr. Fisk needed him.
