An early morning knock woke Eddie up from his peaceful sleep. Laying in bed, staring at the ceiling, he really considered just ignoring it and going back to sleep. But the jerk just had to keep knocking.
"Eddie go answer the door," Venom hissed. "And I'll eat them for you."
"No Venom," He huffed as he rolled out of bed and stomped over to the door. "Let me kill them first." Ripping the door open he froze, "....you?"
Peter smiled and awkwardly waved, "Hi Eddie, did I wake you?"
Eddie could feel Venom's excitement at seeing the other man. He still couldn't believe the symbiote actually had a freaking crush on him.
"Yeah.. no, I mean wh... what are you doing here?" He asked, having never actually expected to see him again.
Peter just shrugged. "I... don't know. Can I come in?"
Before Eddie had a chance to say no Venom poked his head out, "Yes! Come in please!"
Both men hesitated, Eddie wasn't really ready to deal with all this, and Peter wanted Eddie to actually be ok with him coming in. Growing impatient, Venom took it upon himself to pull Peter inside and slam the door.
Eddie sighed as he walked over to the fridge and pulled out a beer, "Want one?" He asked, only then noticing the other man was carrying a bag.
"Uh, sure. I didn't know what you or your friend like so I just bought some fried chicken. I know it's a bit earlier but I figured I shouldn't show up empty handed. It was an attempt at a bribe."
Venom grinned as he reached out and grabbed the bag out of his hand, "Thank you!" He said before digging in.
"I did mean for you to share... never mind."
Eddie smirked as he popped off the cap and handed Peter a beer, "He doesn't really share. So? Ok, what do you want?" He asked bluntly, not wanting to drag this out. "Look if this is about your little secret I promise you I won't tell anyone, so you don't have to worry about that."
Peter smiled. "Oh I know you won't."
Eddie raised his eyebrow.
"You keep my secret and I keep yours," he motioned towards Venom. "We both have to trust each other."
"You do have a point, we are on the same page so...? Was that all? I don't mean to be rude but I'm surprised you came back. I mean I did kidnapped you."
"Technically he did, not you," Peter pointed out, taking a drink from his beer.
"True, so what did you need?"
Peter looked around. "Well, I guess I'm just curious about him... and you. You see ever since that fun night of both terror and hilarity I can't stop thinking about it. First I was nervous about someone knowing who I am again, but the more I think about it the more relieved I feel. It's kind of nice."
"No one else knows who you are?" Eddie asked.
Peter shook his head, "No. I assume no one else knows about Venom?"
Eddie just gave him a look while taking a swig of his beer. "People know."
"Really?" Peter asked.
"A few, I mean there's Mrs. Chen."
"She's cool," Venom interjected.
"Then Anne."
"Anne? Girlfriend?" Peter asked.
Eddie eyeballed him, that still being a sore subject. "No..... ex."
"Oh... sorry. So it's safe to say a few people know about Venom? It must be nice to, you know, have someone to talk to about it. I guess that's mainly why I'm here, it's nice having someone that knows. Also, Venom is very intriguing."
Venom stopped eating, "See Eddie he likes me."
"Don't give him a big head."
"He's my first alien encounter and there's so much I want to know, if you're willing to talk? I mean I have nothing planned today. We could hang out if you want, maybe I can ask some questions. If you have any questions about me, I don't mind answering them. We can talk about stuff..... maybe on a regular basis?"
Eddie stared at the other man, "You mean like... friends? You want to be friends with the guy that kidnapped you?"
"Eddie!" Venom grinned, growing excited.
Peter shrugged, "I mean you were a polite kidnapper and did feed me after all. Why not?" He asked again, actually making puppy dog eyes at Eddie this time.
"I think it's a good idea," Venom chimed in.
Eddie wanted to say no; he really wanted to say no. He didn't keep friends because he didn't trust them and frankly he didn't want to have to worry about other people. But the look on Peter's face reminded him of the look that Anne used to make when they were together. It was a face that would get her whatever she wanted whenever she wanted it. Eddie couldn't help but smile, he used to love that look so much and for a moment he almost felt like he had it back.
"Damn...fine," he agreed as he sat down on his couch. "Wanna watch the game?"
Peter grinned widely, "Sure!" He agreed as he plopped down next to him. "So how does Venom pee?"
Eddie sighed, already regretting his decision, "For the record you can only use that face once a month," Eddie warned as he flipped the TV on.
