Chapter 8

(Jotunheim)

Loki appeared on the ledge of a frozen cliff and sighed he looked over the cliff frowning seeing Midgard on the other side

"Weird I was supposed to be at the border between Jotunheim and Helheim" Loki mumbled a golden light shimmered beside him revealing Iðunn looking highly annoyed wearing warm clothing

"I told you, you'd have to go through Jotunheim to get there. That meant no taking short-cuts Loki" Iðunn huffed Loki rolled his eyes starting to walk away with the goddess following after him

"Iðunn all I want is to free my sister and my eldest sons, so excuse me for trying to get there quicker" Loki grumbled the blonde goddess sighed grabbing his arm and stopping Loki in his tracks

"I know Loki but this is better I promise, here I have something for you" Iðunn pulled out a golden compass giving it to the trickster god. Loki took it looking between the compass and the keeper of the golden apples in curiosity

"What is this supposed to do exactly?" Loki asked

"This will help you get to Helhiem, it shows the direction of the realms. You are currently on a path to Muspelheim and trust my Surtr does not take kindly to uninvited guests, to the east of us is Alfheim, South is Midgard, and so on. Each realm has a symbol on the compass you know all of them so all you need to do is follow the arrow" Iðunn explained. Loki examined the compass and sighed noticing something

"The bridge is in the palace" Loki grumbled the elder deity nodded

"It is but you'll be fine, just don't get caught, and if you do get caught be honest about your intentions. Jotuns respect honesty more than anything in all the nine realms" Iðunn said

"When all this is done and over with Iðunn, you and I need to have a serious conversation about putting my life in danger cause this is not the first time you've done this" Loki grumbled starting to walk in the direction the compass was pointing to, Iðunn pouted following after him

"Oh come on Loki last time wasn't even that bad," Iðunn said Loki rolled his eyes

"The last time you sent somewhere I met a Jotunn named Howard" Loki pointed out

"And you got your baby boy out of that" Iðunn responded smugly

"He's the only good that came out of that relationship and you know it" Loki glared at the goddess, Iðunn frowned looking up ahead

"I know and if it makes you feel better I'm joining you on this adventure old friend" Iðunn smiled sadly, Loki's tongue clicked tilting his head

"For some reason that does make me feel better," Loki mumbled the blonde goddess smiled brightly the two heard something and froze in their tracks. The god of mischief grabbed onto Iðunn and cloaked them into being invisible. Just as three Jotunn soldiers on some beast patrolled the area

"We should unmask ourselves" Iðunn suggested Loki slowly turned to her

"Did you just say "you'll be fine just don't get caught", what kind of backward logic is that" Loki hissed Iðunn shrugged

"If we want to get inside the palace without any trouble we need to give ourselves up," Iðunn said the dark-haired god left eye twitched with irritation

"I could just cloak us just as I am right now" Loki pointed out

"Yes but-"

"Why is there a but in this situation is actually so simple we make our way to the palace, I make us become invisible then we find the bridge between here and Helheim and use it to get to Hela. That seems very simple doesn't it" Loki sassed Iðunn huffed

"Yes, Loki it does but the bridge is locked behind a door, the key is in the possession of Laufey" Iðunn explained Loki took a deep breath trying to hold on to the last of his patience

"Why didn't you mention this in the beginning," Loki asked calmly Iðunn shrugged

"It didn't seem important at first," Iðunn replied Loki blinked looking at her

"I want to stab you so bad right now" Loki grumbled before unmasking them, the Jotunns noticed them and called out to them

"Halt there Asgardians!" The biggest soldier yelled out Loki sighed knowing this was not going to be what he planned it to be before turning to Iðunn

"If this makes journey makes my children orphans, I'm going to kill you in the afterlife" Loki stated bluntly, the goddess smiled at him bubbly which in turn made the trickster god roll his eyes as the soldiers approached them.
