Chapter 5
Okay so, when the five mutants were going to training, they expected it to be in a fairly big room right?
Well, they didn't expect it to be in a huge fucking basement which had a jet in the middle of it. So you can say that they were surprised to say the least. But when they were done being in awe the five of them went to get their suits.
Apparently Hank had made them. He was, they learned, 'crazy smart' as Scott explained. So not only could he turn in a blue cookie monster well... monster, but he could also make super awesome suits and he could fix the jet when it was broken. So yeah, the guy was crazy smart.
Anyway, back to the training.
First thing they had to do was to explain what their individual powers were, and then use them. This way the X-Men could understand better what they were dealing with exactly. Rahne went first with Berto not far behind, they went first since it was easy for them to use their powers. And they wouldn't break anything or hurt anyone, you know, the usual.
Third was Sam, but he had to go into this special containment thing, that was so that he wouldn't accidentally blow himself up or something. (He was very much capable of doing that) The others were, just like with the previous two who went before him, very impressed of his powers.
Dani and Illy were the last ones, because of course they are. The Blonde was a bit hesitant so Dani took the lead and thus went first. She didn't need to show them much though, she had already shown them the demon bear when they were fighting the Smiley Men. Her other power they literally saw last night so... yeah. So she basically only had to show them the healing power she possessed. She needed a volunteer and asked Illyana if it was okay to use her.
Illy had a few nasty cuts and wounds already, she had collected them over the years. But she accepted and let Dani heal a small cut on her arm so Dani wouldn't extract too much energy from herself. (Because the loving dork would literally give her all of her energy if she didn't stop her)
It was quite beautiful to see actually, at least that was what Illy thought of it. If you saw it from an outsider perspective it would look like golden strings were flowing in between the two, you would feel the energy even if you stood miles away, giving you a relaxed sense of belonging and peace.
After the Brunette was done Illy was completely healed, well her wound was, but anyway.
Now it was Illyana's turn, she was hesitant to say the least. Dani gave her a reassuring squeeze and Rahne flashed her a gentle smile while Sam and Berto were as awkward as ever and just put their thumbs up. She cringed. But she man-ed up (or however you write that) and showed her armour and sword. She also took a short trip to Limbo and brought a flower back which she gave to Dani (any moment was a good moment to flirt)
She didn't show her third power though, it was too personal.
Besides, only Dani knew about it. (Or so she thought)
"You're not going to reveal your third power to us Illyana?" The Professor said. "How?" She asked in disbelief.
"I've been in your head, seen what you saw, know what you know. Mostly." Okay, that sounded creepy. "If she doesn't want to show us then that's fine" Rahne quickly defended, she was trusting The Professor less and less. He knew too much.
There was an awkward silence filling the room afterwards. Berto and Sam unnoticeably set Sam's pants on fire a minute later, redirecting all attention to them, saving Illyana from it. (She didn't like being the center of attention if you hadn't noticed already) When the issue was settled and Sam's pants weren't on fire anymore they continued with the training. But not before Berto found the youngest eyes and winked. She thanked him silently.
It all went fairly smooth after that, as it was just some combat training. No powers or anything. They discovered that most of them really needed to learn how to fight properly as some of them were just terrible at it. Even without their powers they should be able to protect themselves after all.
They split into three groups. The 'Hopeless' which had Berto and Sam in it, then there was the 'Surprisingly alright' with Dani and Rahne, and lastly the group which only contained of one member. Which (Of course, at this point who else could it be) was Illyana, named the 'You definitely had combat training' group.
It was all one-on-one combat training, it was the most effective (studies say at least), so the mutants fought each other. Except for the Blonde who fought against Jean. She was smart and surprisingly fast, she had a more calculated fighting technique as Illyana had a more straightforward one. But nonetheless very effective.
Then finally after a few hours they were finished. (Thank the lord Jesus or whoever you believe in) All of them were sweating so much that the oceans would look dry compared to them. The five of them quickly collected all of their stuff and went straight to their rooms as it was already late. Tomorrow morning was another training and they needed some well-deserved sleep.
