Brainwashing and brainfreeze
"Fuck" Maeve exhaled. The overwhelming feeling of panic and terror rushed through her body while everything seemed to be happening in slow motion infront of her. "Stay here" she seemed to hear her dad say, though it was if he mouthed the words and actually said them moments later. Thoughts rushed around Maeves mind, scrambled, Maeve knew she had to help. Was this need to help a feeling of obligation or her wanting to do good? she wondered, but that would have to wait until later, right now she needed to help Bucky and stop him from hurting anyone. Feeling rushed to her limbs once again as she snapped out of her trance like gaze, eyes unglossed, mouth shut, focused on the task at hand she quickly rushed to the interrogation room hoping it was not too late.

As quickly as she got down there was about as quick it took for Bucky to tear through nine agents. Maeve was in horror of what she had seen, the state their bodies were left in, she was shocked that a person she had talked to not too long ago and was Cap's best friend, could do something like this. Maeve was trying to remind herself that this was not Bucky but the alternate murderous identity Hydra had created to do their bidding. Zemo was in the fetal position on the floor. He acted as if Bucky was some crazed maniac who suddenly snapped, Maeve knew he was lying and as he stood up she dragged him by his hair and slammed him into the wall. She demanded that he tell her the truth before she did even more damage to his face, he did not appreciate this.
"But what about the cameras? you wouldn't dare hurt me and risk outing yourself." Zemo quietly remarked.
The cameras shattered and Zemo's smile faded and quickly turned into a frightened grimace.
"What cameras?" she whispered loud enough only he could hear.
Quickly confidence turned to fear and he knew this would not end well for him.
"Now you're going to tell me exactly what you said to him and how to reverse it"
"Nev-"
Before he could finish his sentence Cap and Sam came running in and while attempting to ascertain exactly what had happened, Maeve could hear screams, so many screams. Trying to locate the source of the screams, she closed her eyes and concentrated on them, then once she did locate them she went into the persons mind and saw Natasha fighting Bucky. Maeve re-entered her own mind, leaving the other persons and ran to the large area she had seen through the other persons eyes.
Sam and Cap tried to call after her but soon enough they started to hear the screams too and Cap followed after Maeve. Soon enough Maeve found the source of the screams and just as she did, she saw Bucky pointing a gun at Tony. She tried to scream , to say anything at all, but she couldn't. She tried to force the words out but only breaths exited her mouth. She had not seen the iron hand Tony had put on and thought that her dad was about to die. Terror washed over Maeve as Bucky pulled the trigger, she wanted to move, to do anything other than just stand there with her mouth agape but before she could move, he pulled the trigger. Seeing that Tony had infact not died and had his hand shielded by the iron hand, she heaved a sigh of relief as a single tear ran down her cheek. Before, everything seemed to be happening in slow motion but now everything was at its normal pace. Maeve ran over to Bucky and started laying into him, punching over and over again with no end in sight. Bucky was not fazed by these attempts to hurt him, instead he grabbed Maeve's right wrist and with his metal arm, crushed every bone in it. Pain ran through her body as she tried to pull away from him, but he did not loosen his grip. Maeves cells started repairing instantaneously but Bucky's grip stopped them from fully repairing. As Maeve tried to pull away a searing pain ran up and down her arm, Maeve had been hurt before but due to her healing it never hurt for this long. Maeve cried out in pain as she tried over and over again to pull away. After a few seconds had passed by Bucky's attention had been caught by something else and he released Maeve from his grip. In this time, Tony had went to chase after Bucky , but not before he could sternly tell Maeve through gritted teeth
"I told you to stay out of this!". To which Maeve responded "I only wanted to-" her sentence was interrupted by Tony flying away. Maeve then exhaled only loud enough so she could hear "help". Maeve struggled not to cry as she got up off the floor and went to find Sam.
