Tensions Rising
2016- the day of secretary Ross's meeting.
Dear Diary
we messed up, I know we did. We shouldn't have gotten so cocky as to think that we could just take on a group of mercenary's and think we could win. Why did we think that? its not like Sokovia was a win for us. My dad and I haven't talked much since Sokovia, he cant deal with it, with me. I still blame myself, I don't think I'll ever not blame myself. I wake up most nights reliving everything all over again. New York, Killian, and Sokovia, my therapist says it's PTSD like with my dad. My therapist says to just breathe in and out, and in and out, over and over again until the pit in my stomach goes away. What makes it worse is how erratic and uncontrollable my powers have gotten, I never had great control over them, but it was getting somewhere, Sokovia ruined all that, now even the littlest thing makes me anxious and suddenly i'm being sedated for " my own safety". WHICH IS BULLSHIT. I don't need the protection here, they do and every second i'm around them I get scared I'm going to hurt them. Surprisingly i wasnt the one who couldn't control her powers this time, Wanda tried to stop crossbones in Lagos and ended up hurting people, she's blaming herself too much for this, it was all our faults she should never have been in that position in the first place. General Ross, or should I say 'secretary' not that he's done anything to earn the title, wants to have a meeting. I don't know what it is going to be about but it cant be great seeing as he hates the avengers. I'm technically not an avenger because i dont want the public attention seeing as that can only make my anxiety worse, but I am still going to be there, It's not like they're going to stop me and if Ross tries to then idk what will happen. gotta go now, bye.
*In the meeting*
*thinking* "god who does this guy think he is showing us those videos like we weren't there??!! he wasn't even there."
Ross threw something called the Sokovia accords at us, wanted us to sign it. Never knew that treaties were so long and single spaced. Ross is talking to us like he's better than us, like if he tried to do what the Avengers did he could do it perfectly. Yes the Avengers need some restrictions and rules, but these are way too restrictive, they want to take every alien, enhanced, or other than basic non magic performing human's blood to test. The Accords say that it would be mandatory, so against peoples will. Obviously I am not on his side and agreed with Steve that we should go against the Accords, he may be a little too against them but it's either that or my dads side, i can't believe Nat went with him on this especially after how rude he was to me. Nat always protected me but i guess now i'm going to have to protect myself. We're going to get Bucky now, I'm going in with wonder-boy, and if Bucky is still brainwashed hopefully i can help with that.
*In Bucky's apartment*
*bucky and steve having their conversation*
Maeve: "Hey guys I know your doing your thing or whatever, but these agents are gonna be here any second to take Jax over here, and they're not gonna be nice about it. "
Bucky: "who the hell are you?"
Maeve: * waves hand hi* " oh i'm Maeve" she said giddy and smiling as if there weren't at least 30 guys armed with guns about to break down the door.
*The guys break in*
Maeve: "oh shit" Maeve had been trained by Nat and happy, but before this she had pretty much been the guy in the chair after everything went down in Sokovia, Maeve complained about not doing more but secretly she liked it, the knowledge that at least then she can't hurt anybody, she wont fail. Maeve took after her dad and his high IQ, she got it tested once and it was higher than his, didn't tell him though because she was scared it would hurt his ego, she was 12.
*fighting between Maeve and the soldiers ensues as Bucky and Steve escape down the stairwell*
While fighting the soldiers Maeve quickly realized just how useful her time spent training and going to the gym was. Maeve got bored and saw Steve chasing Bucky on the roof next to the building she was in, so like a completely normal and stable person, she jumped out the window and used her telekineses to make sure she didn't just fall 10 stories. She then chased them until they got brought in.
Maeve: panting and out of breath "oh god.... how do they do this *pants* does the super soldier serum give you lungs of steel?"
officially Maeve was never there. Maeve caught up with Steve and everyone else, Tony obviously knew that she was there but Maeve still played coy.
Maeve: "oh hey I heard you guys got caught doing some illegal stuff"
Steve and Sam: *glare*
Sharon: "....bird suit"
Sam: "BIRD SUIT???"
Sharon: "I'm just telling you what it says"
*sharon and sam leave and tony comes in*
Tony: " Maeve I thought I told you not to be a part of this" Tony groaned
Maeve: " I wasn't there, didn't you see the arrest record" Maeve sarcastically commented
Tony: "Maeve leave before your grounded"
Maeve: "oh no i'm so scared" Maeve sarcastically commented
Tony: "Maeve I swear to-"
Steve: "Tony it's fine she can stay what did you want to talk about?"
*they have their conversation*
Steve: "SHES A KID"
Maeve: "actually shes 26"
Steve: *annoyed* "what does that have to do with this?"
Maeve: "Im a kid, shes a grown ass woman"
Steve: "So?, she still is allowed to make mistakes."
Maeve: "yes she should but she shouldnt be exempt from the consequences, besides my dads right, shes not a united states citizen so she could be easily deported if ross really wanted to"
Steve: "yes but he is completely wrong on-"
*Zemo brainwashes bucky*
Maeve: "fuck".
