An odd start
“What the hell are you doing?!”, the Hawk almost screams. Barely noticeable, Loki flinched.
“What do you mean Bird-brain, I was supposed to bring him here to eat? Cap told me to so don’t get mad at me!”, Stark replied, obviously confused.
“I think Clint is talking about how Loki isn’t wearing anything to dampen his magic”, the Captain said. “There may still be hope for redemption when it comes to Loki, but that does not mean that we can blindly trust him. Trust is something that you have to earn, and-“, he continued while standing up. His voice had started to change into a more formal and patriotic tone.
“Yeah, yeah Old Man I get it you don’t have to give me another speech”, Stark replied and rolled his eyes. Loki looked surprised, he had assumed that they at least had been monitoring his magic. There was really nothing stopping him from using his magic to escape. What kind of foolish creatures would even mention it before him? Only Midgardians.
Loki starts to reach for his magic, and then… Stark turns towards him. For some reason the brown eyed man distracts him. Loki have been alive for 1070 years. During this time, he had fought countless battles and have had to use his magic to survive. Nothing had ever distracted him from being able to use his magic before. All colour disappears from his face as he realise it. Stark had distracted him easier then anyone or anything ever had.
“Here you go Rock of Ages”, Stark says while clipping on a small metal bracelet on Lokis right wrist. He had missed the opportunity, but his interest in the man before him suddenly heightened. First the man of iron had resisted the sceptre, and now he had managed to distract Loki. “Are you good, Tall, Dark and Evil?”, Stark asked, with a concerned voice and a smile on his face. Once again Loki felt startled.
“Yes, I am fine”, Loki replied after a few seconds, carefully watching the man before him.
“Good, cause now it’s breakfast”, Stark replied and dragged Loki with himself further into the kitchen area. The Midgardian had a steadfast grip on his arm, and Loki felt slight discomfort as the scars on his body were not fully healed, and he had not been concentrating on healing less extreme wounds.
The short man handed him a round bread with a hole in the middle, explaining that it was called “a bagel”. When Loki sat down, they Hawk went out of the room. The Man with a monster inside excused himself quickly as well. Only the Widow, the Man out of Time and Stark were left, and Loki wondered were his not-brother Thor could be.
When he started to eat, the Widow studied him, and Stark threw out some snarky comments. Without thinking, Loki replied. Stark raised his eyebrows, then grinned and kept chatting with him. Loki smirked back at the man, then continued to eat.
“So princess, when you’re done with that we’re gonna have a date at the lab where you explain magic, I’ll invite Bruce”, Stark said. Some colour disappeared from Lokis face, remembering what the monster had done to him. Then he frowned.
“Don’t you already know how my magic work? You were able to make these magic suppressors”, Loki asked while holding up his bracelet.
“Thor gave us the big handcuff, and I was able to pinpoint which things were necessary for it to work and put all of those in the bracelet, really not a big deal”, Stark replied.
“Well then I shall assist you and tell you about my magic, but first I’ll need to bathe”, Loki said, as he stood up. Stark nodded and started to escort Loki back to his room.
“If you need company in the shower, just tell me”, Stark said and winked as they got to Lokis room. Loki was about to groan and roll his eyes, but for some reason he didn’t.
“Maybe next time”, he replied with a smile. Then, while Stark still had a stunned expression on his face, Loki winked and walked into his room. Right before he closed the door, he got a glimpse of Stark smiling. Stupid mortal.
Loki undressed, showered, and then untangled his hair. During this time, he got into his first interactions with JARVIS, who helped him find a brush. With his hair free from tangles, clean from blood and dirt, the newly dressed god opened the door. The mortal was still standing where Loki had left him, this time tinkering with some small device.
“There you are Princess!”, Stark said when Loki opened the door.
“Here I am, indeed”, Loki said dryly, and then let Stark escort him towards the elevators. The mortal pressed some buttons inside the elevator, and the doors closed behind them. Then they started going up, towards the lab.
