Reports had been flooding in recently about vandalism being committed on various buildings.
Hearts carved into bricks and concrete; dead bodies of terrible people found with hearts of blood painted beside them; the month of June was turning out to be quite odd.
Local news channels speculated desperately as to the meaning of these increasingly common symbols. Critics insisted it was an attack on the LGBTQ+ community, considering the timing.
Until Spider-Man and Deadpool, famous hero/vigilante and deadly mercenary, showed up to a pride parade holding hands. Spider-Man's costume had been redesigned to be pink, blue, and purple, while Deadpool's costume was slathered in pink and yellow and blue. Pride flag colors.
It all clicked together, but it was only confirmed when witnesses spotted the violently colored couple committing the vandalism (+murder).
This wasn't an attack on the LGBTQ+ community...it was just gays being violently gay.
Peter snorted as he read the news. They had figured out he was dating Wade, and that he and Wade were behind all the heart shit. Apparently, Wade had thought it cute that Peter liked to carve hearts into their special rooftop, so he started doing it too...with the blood of his enemies.
Aww. That had been Peter's first reaction. How cute.
Peter needed therapy, probably.
