Prologue- The Wishing Star
“Wishing Star, oh Wishing Star. I have one wish, only one wish, that I wish it to be granted.”
“Those are the word one says when they want to make a wish, to the Wishing star. It came from the sky, one big star that fell to the ground, in the middle of the forest. The Star turned the forest enchanted, and it layed at the center of it, waiting for those that tried to get to it, and reclaim their wish. Many tried to find it, but the terrors of the forest made it so that no one could get to it.
That is, until someone did make it. A witch by the name, of Wilfred Blight.”
Wilfred walked to the star, in shock at having found it.
“Wilfred has been searching for the star for a long time. His greatest desire was to safe his wife, who was dying from a mysterious illness no healer could take care of.”
Wilfred grabbed the map of the star and sighted. It was time.
“Wishing Star, oh Wishing Star. I have one wish, only one wish, that I wish to be granted. Please, cure my dear wife, let her age at my side.”
But nothing happened. The star could not grant that wish.
And that...was because Wilfred’s wife had already died. And though the star is powerful, it could not defeat death.
Wilfred fell to his knees. He had been too late. His dear wife is gone.
It’s not fair. Why is it that mortal being had to be cursed with only one chance, Why is it that.....
Wilfred then got an idea. He could not save his wife. But....he could do another thing.
“Wishing Star, oh Wishing Star, I have one wish, only one wish, that I wish to be granted. Please, From this day own, I want every member of the Blight family, both those born into it and those who join it by marriage, for them to have three lives instead of one, so that, unless they are too die by age, they can get a second and third chance, so that no one has to go threw my pain ever again.”
At that wish, the star glowed. The wish had been granted.
Wilfred sighed and stood up, walking towards the forest.
He returned home, explained his son what happened, drew a map for the star and hid it, and then, after visiting his wife’s grave, Wilfred disappeared.
Thanks to Wilfred, the Blights got the extra lifes.
Should one die for any other reason than age, their body would magically reset and they would wake up again, all healthy.
It had made many things. The Blights began being reckless. As long as they had lives to spare, they were confident that they could face everything.
As for the star. Other people found it, and made their wishes. Until the star got almost drained, only one wish remained. The star could grant one final wish before vanishing forever.
And that is how our story begins. When Wilfred’s descendent lost her two lives sought to get them back, before death could catch her.
This is the story, of Amity & The Last Wish.
