Chapter 17
Shit.
How the hell has she forgotten her birthday and that Stark will probably want to do something more than lay around. A few intensely awkward moments with Daisy still pointing her gun with the team on the receiving side. Lucky for them she had more self-control or it would have been Tony first.
"Your back," Wanda said as she was the first to move over to Daisy with a bright smile on her face. The smile made its way to her green eyes which Daisy thought was mesmerizing how someone could wear their emotions so freely. She also took note of Wanda's hair change from the reddish dye to a dark brown with noticeable curls.
Wanda pulled the woman into a rather unsuspecting hug. Daisy had locked eyes with Natahas over Wanda's shoulder. The red hair gave her a look with Daisy gave her the finger. In which Steve gave her a stare of disapproval, always the polite one.
"So let me guess, Starks idea with Wanda's help. Fury and Maria were dragged in last minute after checking up on their recruits. Bruce and Steve didn't want to hide with Natasha, and Clint and Pietro stood by the idea.”
It was surprising to her how easily she had begun to know the group's motives even after less than a few months she had known them.
A loud crack of lightning broke people out of the small party they had held for Daisy much to her annoyance. It was quite obvious who just arrived at a loud entrance. Soon enough a loud booming voice filled the room.
"Ahh, Friends, I am late again?” Thor greeted them all with a warm smile as he welcomed his friends each with a hug which was mostly his muscles wrapped around him.
"Lady Daisy, it's great to meet you. We didn't get much time to talk last time. My deepest apologies yet I hope you expect this gift from Azgard that shall help you among your future adventures."
Smiling up at the taller guy she took the gift gratefully. He stood there like a child waiting for her to open it. He was one thousand years of age and act like a hyper child when he got excited.
The wrapping on the gift felt expensive under her fingers like fine leather. Did all Asgardians wrap their gifts up with leather or was it just the Royal family.
Neatly packed inside was a sort of necklace with what looked like a crystal on a thread of dark leather. It was very beautiful but knowing Thor it had alternate purposes if it came from his home.
She looked up at Thor confused as he caught on he good her the origin of the necklace, "The stone is called Moldavite. The necklace was from My Mother before she passed. It was created to enhance the wearer's ability if it bonds with its user. Mother had told me it was created long ago by her female ancestors. She gave it to me and told me to pass it on to whoever I deemed worthy of such a gift. And you Lady Daisy I deem worthy of the pendant of Power. It also has healing properties which would be most beneficial for you."
Daisy couldn't be more stunned that Thor was giving a piece of his family history to someone he had bearly talked to, let alone it was his dead mother's necklace or pendant as it was called. But did she need her powers enhanced? Without being biased already she knew she was quite powerful but what could this necklace bring to her.
"I also had fitted you with an Asgardian book on tales that you might find quite interesting. I was thinking to bring you a bottle of Asgardian finest but I couldn't remember the Inhuman's alcohol tolerance."
The first and last talk she had had with the prince, the whole inhuman thing. She had her powers since she was born but activated differently most. Is no need to go through the mist because the experiments that were done on her must have unlocked them instead. She felt that he was missing something about the Inhuman tale tho, though he wanted to say something she didn't press on about it.
"I don't know what to say Thor then Thank you, I'm extremely grateful that you gave me something your Mother gave you. It's an honour." He gave her a big smile as she looked down at her.
"It was an Honour to give it to you, Mother knew it would only bond with people who deserve its power. It looks like it choose you which is what Mother would have wanted her magic passed on." He pointed at the forest green stone in her bare hands as it became to pulse with a tint of green glow as it accepted her.
Thor was happy as he watched his Mothers legacy move on even if it wasn't through her children. If she was alive today she would love to meet the person who had her pendant. She was always so kind to the heart which only pushed Thor to do the same.
Wanda bounced over to the two but looked directly at Daisy. She took the Necklace from Daisy to take a better look at it. “Oh, it's beautiful” Thor watched as the pendant glowed a tiny bit more as it went unnoticed by the girls. He felt his smile grow a bit more, Young love is confusing he told himself as he watched the two talking to each over in low voices ignoring the party around them.
The Party carried on into the night as more people arrived. People Daisy had made good terms with after joining the Helicarrier. It had become quite loud which made Daisy stray away from her party sipping a bottle of beer. She observed everyone around her.
Pietro and Tony had taken to dancing with as many people as they could, it almost seemed like they were trying to outdo each other. Tony had shouted across the room at the younger man that it was unfair as Pietro had powers and he didn’t.
Above Tony’s whining people flocked to Thor as he told stories about his adventures which seemed hilarious to their drunken minds. Fighting dark elves was funny even after the clean-up. It wasn’t nice.
Natasha resided at the bar challenging anyone to a drinking game. Off cause, she had won each seven rounds of drinking straight vodka. Even though she was a little tipsy on her feet yet managed to keep her wits about her.
Steve and Bruce sat in a corner like her as they watched the world pass as they sipped equally on their drink cans. The two talked about themselves being the ‘mature’ people of the Avengers.
Daisy sighed in frustration as the drink she had wasn’t strong enough. She had noticed that she had a high alcohol tolerance even if she had gotten tipsy then it would wear off after ten minutes.
She moved through the crowded narrowly missing people dancing or chatting around. As she came to a stop at the bar, much to the tender's dismay, she grabbed the bottle of the strongest bottle there.
She heavily sat on the seat next to Natasha who seemed to be doing the same thing as she planned to do. That was until Wanda had drunkenly walked over by this time Daisy was feeling the effects of the stronger drink.
“You’re looking very beautiful tonight, Wanda,” Daisy told the slightly taller woman as she walked over.
And she wasn’t to lie, she was. Wanda’s dark hair hung around her shoulders in neat waves. She wore a red dress similar to the outfit She had worn back in Sokovia. Paired with simple black ballet flats and a matching shawl that hung around the middle of her elbows.
Wanda smiled sweetly at the compliment as they met each over. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
“Do I?”
Wanda nodded vigorously to prove her point. Daisy felt a little happiness in the pit of her stomach. She had never thought herself as good to look at. Well at not least for people her age. Back in Hydra ever since they could make her look older they would send her out to get information from older men and somethings women by manipulating them to sleep with her so the vital information was caught.
A song started to play, and Wanda perked up at the sound knowing the song. She started to drag Daisy into the middle of where the centre of the party was being held. Guest is entertained by Tony’s shouting jokes to anyone he sees. Daisy had hesitated but her mind was clouded by the bottle she had drowned.
The pair held hands while joining in on the shouting of songs that were playing till their throats were raw. Their hands were interlaced with each other as they wildly jumped around to match the surroundings. Everything was a purest Bliss settling in over them.
Until the music had slowed down and people began to pair up for the slow dancing part of the night. Daisy boldly pulled Wanda in by the waist as a bush settled over wanted already flushed cheeks. Even so, she went along by laying her head on Daisy's shoulder, as her eyes grew slightly heavier.
“You're a bad dancer.” Wanda pipped up as Daisy slightly stumbled over her own two feet jerking Wanda's head. Only now noticing how close their faces were away from each other.
Wanda could smell Daisy’s perfume, a mix of musk and rose made the woman lean slightly closer unconsciously. Neither Daisy noticed as she seemed to be transfixed by his look at Wanda.
It’s not like Daisy hadn’t noticed before but Wanda was breathtaking. Her green eyes were wide and happy and almost swirling with magic. A small tint of red flashes behind the innocent greens, a dangerous witch not to mess with. The shape of Wanda’s nose and how it slightly scrunch when she is excited. Following that was the shape of her lips which make her cheeks dimple with each joyful smile.
Both had noticed how now close that had gotten. With Daisy's arms slung around Wanda’s shoulders with Wanda bravely holding her waist. Foreheads press again one over swaying slightly to the music. Time seemed to stop as they started being bewitched by each other.
Everything seemed to all happen at once as they both leaned into each over as their lips met. The sent of both mixing strongly in the air between them as they held tightly onto their partner. It was a moment of pure bliss between them and only them as the rest of the room was blurred out.
It stopped as Daisy pulled away stopping the moment almost shocked at her actions, “I am so sorry. I don’t know what overcome me.” She apologised looking away from Wanda embarrassed with herself. She was unable to meet eyes again.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. I liked it. Your not a bad kisser you know.” It was like they switched personalities. Being drunk does change you.
Daisy turned to look at Wanda with a wide apologetic eye “Really?” Like she didn’t believe what she was hearing. It seemed like such a stupid thing to worry about him in her case but it was her first time having feelings when kissing someone that she liked. It was like a big deal for her. And when Wanda nodded her head most of the negative emotions and overthinking retracted from her mind.
Tony seemed to have noticed the exchange and wolf-whistled catching the party's attention. “Barton, Romanoff you both own me ten. Told you the two lovebirds would kiss.”
He drunkenly stood up and cheered as the rest of the party followed leaving the two awkwardly standing in the middle. Without even needing to talk they walked out of the room to avoid the embarrassment. Leaving the wild party behind they headed to the close of the two rooms. Ending up flopped on Daisy's bed.
“Let's talk about it tomorrow alright. I just want sleep.” And Wanda couldn't agree more.
That's how they were found in the morning by a one Natasha Romanoff, in a tangle of limbs and cover. She took a picture on her phone before leaving them in peace.
