Chapter 1
Winter soldier:
A frantic call came in while Maria was sitting in a small data analysis room, it was Fury saying he needed her here. Deep operations only. “We can get there in four hours” she quickly said “make it three” he replied. That's when you received the call. “We need you here, meet me in D.C.'' she demanded frantically through the phone. “I don’t understand, I'm just about to leave for the Celje mission?” you questioned her. “It’s Fury, he said he needs help, deep cover only.” she explained. “Understood” that was all it took for you to change your flight plans ``i'll meet you there” you confirmed before hanging up the phone. With that you guys were off. To go bags that were never unpacked were quickly picked up and jets were boarded with a destination to D.C. You were able to get there in about 4 hours. Upon arriving at the designated safe house, well more of a cave really, the team began to set up. You and Maria were unable to reach Fury through the phone. Then over the S.H.I.E.L.D radio you hear that Fury has been shot and that Captain America is in pursuit of the shooter. Damn, the assassination was expected, but not really the framing of Captain America. Well, guess it made sense though, strategically.
Next thing you knew you were in an operating room, where just behind a sheet of glass. Fury lay bleeding on the table, as doctors tried their best to patch him up. The line began to flatten and they charged the defibrillators. you stood beside Natasha and Maria as the three of you, all looked helplessly as they tried to bring him back. They all said quiet prayers under their breaths. Probably to gods none of you even believe in. Eventually they called out the time of death. Stepping back and taking deep breaths and blinking your eyes up to the sky to try and hold the tears in. His body sat on a table covered in a sheet in the middle of an empty room full of the harsh fluorescent white of a hospital.
Natasha looked at the body for who knows how long. Eventually you and Maria walked in “we need to take him” After a breath, Natasha stormed out of the room with Steve Chasing behind her. Then you and Maria began preparations to transport his body.
They’re framing Steve for Fury’s death. There’s a S.H.I.E.L.D manhunt for both Steve and Natasha. This ought to be a fun time.
“Let’s go asshole” you huffed. Maria laughed a little, and nodded “let’s get him out of here” she agreed
“Hydra is here in S.H.I.E.L.D, all the way up to the top.” you signed, Maria nodding her head along. you headed to the bunker “we’ll get him there, then get him some real help.” Maria reassured. “Yeah, Fury is too stubborn to let Hydra take him out.” you joked earning a small laugh from Maria. Once you got there it was a flurry of our own doctors as they took furry down the hall. You both finally took an actual full breath for what felt like the first time, Maria sat down “We need to get Steve of Nat off the grid too, we don’t know how much of S.H.I.E.L.D has been compromised” your mind was too loud to sit, you needed to move, your legs, your hands, it didn’t matter “then we have to figure out a way to shut all of this down.”
Then it was heard through the radio we had connected to S.H.I.E.L.D’s frequency, that Steve and Natasha, as well as another ally had been caught. “Oh shit” you said, turning to Maria. She closed her eyes, shook her head in exhaustion and smirked a little and shook her head “Looks like i’m on a rescue mission.” you pinched the bridge of my nose and took a deep breath. “I just have to get my hands on one of those swat uniforms.” she said as she walked out of the room, and you couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Godspeed!” you yelled after her, doing a little two finger salute.
you heard the door open and began speed walking down the hallway, just on the border of a jog. Nat, Steve, and you’re guessing the newest member to our squad, Sam, followed swiftly behind Maria. Sam began to list off the amount of blood Nat had lost with a voice of experience. This isn’t the first time he’s had to give injury reports. “She’s going to want to see him first” Maria responded, leading them to the room where Nick Fury lay on the bed, very much alive, and sarcastic as ever. The doctors treated Natasha’s bleeding shoulder in Fury’s room, as you highly doubted she would let anyone treat her anywhere else. After fury listed off her ailments, the team began to discuss just how deep hydra had wormed its way into S.H.I.E.L.D. Peirce, that was who you all knew was at the top of this particular chain of command. As the doctor said, cut off one head, two more will take its place.
Fury went over the plan of assuring that those helicarriers never become operational. Steve insisted that your team couldn’t just take down the carriers of the parts of S.H.I.E.L.D that were taken over by hydra, it all had to go. Maria was the first to agree with him, you trust her more than just about anyone, and you live by the code of don’t trust anyone ever. So you were quick to agree with her. Soon everyone else followed suit. Then, They set off. You began to pack. Moving everything from one cave to the next. Watched the news, and put everything Fury requested into a storage container, and made sure there was a working lighter in there.
They set up a grave site for Fury, a headstone and everything. We visited the site to mourn with some old friends. Then Fury walked away from his empty grave. “Hydra is far from extinct yet” He signed. “I know, but we’ll figure out how to take down some ice nazi’s. Natzicles if you will.” you quipt at him. “I beg you to stop talking, '' Fury sighed. “Come on, you keep me around for a reason.” you joked. “More, like you stay around. Like a bad head cold.” he shot back at you. “Anyway,” glancing at him with a smile
“I hear the Czeh republic is nice this time of year. I’ve always wanted to see Prague.” you suggested, following behind him. .
Age of ultron:
A burner phone rings at a small cafe in Germany. “You see the news?” A tired voice on the other line asks. “Yeah I sure did, you going out there?” it was redundant honestly, you already knew the answer. “Barton just called, and someones gotta glue the team back together.” the voice on the other line laughed. “No one better than you sir, keep in touch if you need extra hands.” then the line goes dead. you can’t help but to laugh into your coffee a little, you know you’ll be expecting a call soon enough.
Eventually that call comes and provides a meeting point. you walk up to this huge ship “We’re going to need some help running this thing” Fury says as he comes up behind me. “Let's go then” you shrug walking up into the ship. “This thing looks like the Titanic, but with more lifeboats, flatter, and hopefully less sinking.” you remarked.
We got all the civilians off and got Tony’s weird robot taken care of. you only heard it a little, but you’re pretty sure it used the voice from the guy on the blacklist. Anyway, everyone got back on the ground, and back to whatever normal was after this.
They’re building a new Avengers compound. you got a pretty good look around during the end of its construction. you ran into Steve and Natasha as you made your leave. “It was good to see you again” you say as you reach out to hug Nat. “You too” she whispers into my hair. you step back “It was an honor to work with you both” you smiled, reaching out to shake Steve’s hand. you handed him a card “It’s for a catering company, just in case you ever need someone for events.” as you walked away, you spun around quickly, walking backwards to face them. “they have great reviews too” you added before turning back around and leaving the compound.
“What are your next steps?” Fury asks you, sliding in the seat across from you at a crowded coffee shop “Back to Europe?” After a slow sip, thinking for a second. “Maybe” you hesitate. “ But maybe I’d like to move around a bit more.” you finished. Looking up at Fury for a second, then leaning back in your back against the chair, “but my services are always available if you need me.” ypu assured him. As you got out of your seat handed him a card to a catering place, and placed your hand on his shoulder. “I’m not doing what Maria did though, and working at Stark tower. I love you guys but not that much” you joked before releasing his shoulder leaving the coffee shop behind you.
