Summary
Most of the chapters will happen post end-game but I wanted to include the reader in the movies throughout the series starting with winter soldier. Reader has worked with Nick Fury for many years, and that included being a shield agent. Then Shield fell. Then Captain America comes and asks for help. Post infinity war you help Natasha keep everything together. Then after endgame It's all on you, to keep everyone in check and connected... and to teach the former winter solider what credit scores are. Mostly follows through falcon and the winter soldier series, but is still involved in the other series/ events
Note
Just Winter soldier and age of UltronI have an unnecessary love for back story

Chapter 2

“We’re on our own.” Steve said dejectedly. “Maybe not, I know a guy.” Sam replied.
“I actually might too” Steve's eyes lit up as he remembered a business card in his wallet. Pulling it out and holding it up for Sam to see. “Catering?” Sam let out a breathy laugh with a look of disbelief. “ A little more than that.” Steve smirked and reached for his cellphone.

It was a dark night, barely any stars shown through the clouds, only a vague glow of where the moon should be. The dark of the sky was occasionally cut by the streams of fluorescent lighting littered around. Suddenly a small knock at the window of the car made you jump a little despite seeing the other car pull up. As the car door opened and Steve sat down in the passenger seat. “Thank you for meeting with me.” he said quietly.
“Of course, but did it have to be in a HomeDepot parking lot?” you asked, feigning annoyance. while letting out a small laugh “ I guess parking garages are getting too predictable so we have to get creative” you joked, trying to lighten the energy surrounding the car. “But seriously, what are we doing here? I do watch the news ya know, the UN bombing, the fact that you’re a criminal now, how those two things are related.”
Steve let out a small, very tired laugh, that was mostly a long sigh “it’s these Sokovia accords, they don’t sit right with me, the governments shouldn't have this kind of power. It’s too easy to corrupt.” he confessed. you can’t lie to him and pretend that you haven’t had the same feeling since the accords began appearing on the news, and even being signed by many of the avengers. “You don’t need to convince me, my whole government agency turned out to be Hydra, governments are too easily corruptible to have this kind of control. But I feel like this has as much to do with your passion project as it does the accords''
Steve looks down at his hands in defeat and you can almost see him deflate as another pause takes over the car. you take a deep breath closing your eyes and placing your head against the headrest, tilting your head up to the roof of your car. Realizing and accepting that you are about to commit treason, this is fully treason that you are about to commit, and you'll probably be on the run for the rest of forever. After soaking that all in you let out another sigh, opening your eyes and rolling your head over to face Steve, “Give me the info and what I can do to help.” He takes a breath of relief and hands you a file, and begins to explain all of the nitty and gritty of what has transpired in the past two weeks.
After being fully caught up with the entire shit storm of what has happened you don’t even know how to wrap your head around it. “Damn, that’s a lot” is all that you could really get out. “Y/N, you’re sure you want to get into all of this? I know I asked you to be here, but still.” Steve looked at you and you knew he meant it, you could leave right now and there would be no hard feelings. “Ah what the hell” you shrugged “I’ve missed the spice of being on the run anyways.” you smiled at him, adding “And remember, I never get caught unless I want to be.” opening the file once again. “Plus, your friend here is kinda cute” you laughed as you tossed the file back at Steve as he rolled his eyes.

Steve loaded all of their gear into their tiny car as you walked up. “ I love the car, It’s cute.” you mocked loudly as you got closer. “I know, I know, '' Steve rolled his eyes. “I'm working with what we got,” he offered, gesturing to the car. “We?” you asked, frowning my brow and tilting your head to the side. “ Look in the car.” he suggested. Sure enough there were two men inside. Sam you recognized right away and offered a small wave. Then Steve closed the trunk as you looked up at him “I guess that means we're off” opening the handle behind the passenger seat and climbing inside. “Hey Sam, it's been a minute.'' you joked lightly, he chuckled a little and turned around to look at you “Gotta admit you were an addition I did not see coming. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy to have the help, but I thought you dropped off the map.” he confessed, before turning back around
“You’re not wrong, I try to stay under the radar as much as I can.” you agreed. Then tried to shift your body, as much as you could to face the other man in the car. “From process of elimination I am guessing you’re Bucky?” He nodded his head, and only let out a small “Yeah, nice to meet you” despite remaining rather stone faced and on guard, not that you blame him. “I’ve heard good things from Steve, it’s nice to actually meet you” you continued. He just smiled a little and nodded his head, not really believing your words. you're almost amazed how someone who was so big and has a reputation that is so scary, can look so small. An idea hit you, maybe just a small way to build some trust. “Hey Bucky, take one of these '' you encouraged handing out a business card for an antique shop. “What is this?” He asked, looking remarkably confused as he carefully took the card from your fingers. “It’s in case you ever need an extra person to have your back.” you responded with encouragement. “I’m known for working with antiques” you added with a smile while gesturing towards Steve. Sam’s head whipped around “You gave him a card? Really, he gets a card and I don’t.” Sam snapped. “Well Sam, maybe you’re just not my type” you suggested with a small smirk and batting my eyes at him, feigning innocence . He just scoffed and turned back around in his seat. “Remind me to never let you two interact” Steve chimed in, pointing a finger back and forth from you to Sam. “I don’t know what you mean Steve, I’m a delight” you declared from the back seat, earning another scoff from Sam. Through this whole banter. you definitely didn’t miss the man to my right whose face was now rather pink, and was staring very intensely at the small card in his hands.
Not to change the subject but this isn't the whole team right?” you questioned, rather nervous for the answer. “No offense to you guys, you all look great, but this just doesn't feel like enough.” Steve chuckled from the front seat, “Don’t worry, we're going to meet the other half.” he assures. There’s a small silence in the car for a moment before Sam breaks it to ask a question “You’re still with Fury’s right? Like you work for him? Because that kind of backup would be real nice.” you took a breath. “Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t officially work for anyone. I’m more like…like a freelance worker, it's safer that way. I only have a few contacts that if they need help, I'm there.” Then you gestured up to the driver's seat before continuing “Captain Rodgers being one of them.”
We pulled up to a white van. It was nice to get out of the car, Squished between Sam’s seat and a super soldier certainly didn’t provide much leg room. “You’re sure you couldn’t have found a bigger car, I definitely could have found a bigger car” you informed Steve as you shook out your legs, He just laughed and shook his head at you.
Clint and Wanda both got out of the van. “ I’m quite glad to have you on the team, I was worried it would just be these guys” you almost had to shout over the sounds of the airport parking garage as you rounded the car to get closer to the group. “Surprised you’re here” Clint confessed as he shook your hand. A smile spread across your face “Never been a big fan of the government, why would I start now” you shrugged with a small smile on your face.
“What about our new recruit?” Steve asked, then Clint opened a door and a very starstruck and rather awkward man had stumbled out of the back of the van. you quickly realized he was Scott Lang, or ant man. During his fangirl moment with Captain America, you made my way over to Wanda. “I know we haven’t been able to talk much, but I've heard many great things, glad you’re on the team.” you loudly whispered to her. She smiled a little and gave a small “thank you”. As you were talking Scott turned around slightly looking at the people behind him quickly and said with not nearly the same amount of passion “I know you guys too, you’re great” before turning to you “I don’t know you though” he added. You just laughed before he quickly turned his attention back to Steve. Suddenly a loud German voice began to play over the speakers. “They’re shutting down the airport” Bucky warned “time to suit up!” Captain America announced. How very dramatic and ‘Captain America’ of him.
He went out by himself to draw Tony’s team together. Over the intercoms came Sam’s voice “we found it, the quinjet”. As Sam made the announcement, it was your turn to get to work. It didn’t take long for Tony to clock both Wanda and Clint on one end and Sam and Bucky on the other. A lot was going on during the battle which was a good thing for you. Not many people are looking inside the parking garage when the action is happening out on the roof, so popping down to the second floor wasn’t met with much resistance.
“Sam give me the exact coordinates for the hanger the quinjet is in” you requested over the intercoms trying to gauge where you should begin. After Sam provided the coordinates it was easier to try to line up the hole you needed to make. Just drawing an X for now.
you had to get to the ground floor and make sure the car was right there and ready to go. Lining it up was a little tricky but you figured it was a good guesstimate. Making your way back up wasn’t too tricky either. Again, no one was looking inside the garage, or even really the hanger the jet was in. Running up those stairs was very annoying though. you Finally got back to your X on the second floor. you had to burn the hole in just the right place, so it would be hidden but accessible. you used the mouse hole to get another two stories down, just so you guys would have a headstart too. you finally finished that, and climbed your way back up to the second floor, just beneath the hole you had to make to get to the hanger. Following Sam’s direction you made the final hole in the cement of the airport parking garage. There was the jet! you made sure to waste no time running into it and beginning step two.
“Clint is right,” you said over the intercom, speaking up for the first time since asking Sam for directions.
Sam insisted that it was Steve and Bucky who got out, so you got ready. Expecting you would be seeing both of them very soon, you spoke up “When you guys get here, listen to me okay. Don’t argue, don’t fight, just listen.”
Suddenly Nat appeared by the quinjet as you were programming. ”Didn’t think they dragged you into this” she seemed genuinely surprised to see you through the window. “Well I missed the fun of a high stakes get away” you quip back. “Fury?” she questioned. with a shake of your head “No, just me” you admitted before changing the conversation. “You know, I think you’re going to let them go.” you told her. “Would you let me stop them?” she tossed back at me with a small laugh. “No, probably not. I’d fight hard, probably wouldn’t win, but I could surely stall for them.” you replied while running the numbers on how that would play out. “Even if it meant getting caught?” She questioned. “Yeah, even then” you confessed to her as we saw two bodies running towards you.
“Go” Nat shouted at the two men, before they began to run toward the jet.
That’s when you popped out of the door. “Forget the jet!” you yelled at them. “What?” They both stopped with questioning looks. “Remember what I said about no questions, let’s go”. Suddenly the jet's engine began to rev up. “Keep moving” you yelled at them. Pushing them away from the jet. “See the hole in the ground? Jump in it.” They paused and looked at you like you were crazy again. “Fucking jump in it, we don't have all day.'' Finally they listened and jumped in. you all fell about 4 floors. “Ow '' was all you could get out, the other two seemed fine though, damn super soldiers. Then you brought out the mouse-hole that you had used to make the first few holes and continued to go down. “Let the jet go.” you demanded, talking over the intercom to the others. “It’s a decoy, act like it isn’t, but no one get hurt protecting this thing.” Making sure to emphasize that last part before continuing “They’ll either follow it, or shoot it down, either way it’s going down.” after a beat and a few ragged breaths from the effort of getting from level to level through the garage. Again your travel companions looked like they’ve never broken a sweat in their lives, assholes. “It’s there to buy us some time.'' you finished explaining as you burrowed your way through the last level and drove off, out of sight.
You got off the main road fast. Stuck to a few mapped back roads and eventually dirt ones. Then you pulled up to the real jet they were taking. “I’ve told you before Steve, I always have back up plans” getting out of the car and walking to the jet. “I never get caught unless I want to be” you reminded Steve as you walked between the two men and patted them both on the shoulder. “Now go do what you need to.” Gesturing towards the ship. They both nodded and followed the directions provided and began walking into the ship. “Hey!” you called, making them both turn back and look at you. Pointig at Rodgers “ You need to keep me in the loop, I’m on the suspect list now. But remember, I’m always willing to bump up to the wanted list.” Steve just nodded affirmingly back at you. Then you turned your attention to Bucky “ and you sergeant, owe me a coffee after all this, and a full explanation of everything. I want it from the source, not a museum.” you scolded him as you crossed your arms. “because I did not do all of this” circling a finger between the three of you “just because you’re pretty.” you said smiling as all the aggression in your face melted off quickly. Even feeling a little proud as you could see you had earned another small embarrassed smile, and some pink cheeks from the infamous winter soldier. “Understood” he responded, as Steve just disapprovingly rolled his eyes at you.
“Now get the hell out of here.” You shushed them both off. Then stood there as the jet took off into the sky, silently wishing them the best of luck.
you got a call later, Vision struck the jet down. It crashed into the woods and quickly caught on fire. Nat told you that all of team Iron man definitely had an ‘oh shit, I might have killed captain america face’ as it went down. It took them a little while to scavenge all of the wreckage and realize there were no bodies. “At first they thought maybe it was just their super soldierness that kept them alive. They realized it was a decoy when they found the mouse-hole behind the hanger.” She explained. “So you’re officially back on a potential suspects list.” she warned.
“Ah it feels nice to be noticed again” you joked, getting a quiet laugh out of Nat. I could almost see her shaking her head through the phone. “But seriously, be vigilant” she told you in a much more serious tone.
“Always am, Fury taught me to assume everyone is trying to catch or kill me all of the time.” you assured her before hanging up the phone and throwing it in the trash.
Got a call from your business phone a few days later. “So how does that prison break sound?” the voice on the other end asked. “Ah captain, I’m so glad you asked.” You smiled through your words. “I love some last minute law breaking before going underground.” you could hear him give a small laugh at your words on the other end of the line. “When do we start?” you asked, already packing supplies.
