Paths connecting part 1

[New York, Hell's Kitchen harbor, 7 hours after the incident]

He was leaning against a wall, watching as his Moon Knight protectively moved in front of the child that had fought with him.
He had planned to warn Marc of the Avengers arriving here but oh well, it would be entertaining to watch them fight. Especially when he could grant his son the full potential of the suit with it being full moon.

When Khonshu noticed Marc glancing in his direction he spoke up: "They intend to capture you , my son, and give you over to their so called SHIELD. Fight them and show them the full power of the Moon Knight!!"

When he saw Marc nod it filled him with satisfaction.
He loved it when his Avatar followed his command as easily as this.
He also enjoyed the thought of those worms, with their ridiculous costumes, getting beaten by his son.
They thought too highly of themselves, especially this Asgardian, Thor.

Asgardians were an annoyance in general, titling themselves as gods!
Ha!
Even their strongest, the All-father Odin, was only an insect when compared to the Egyptian pantheon!

It was pathetic.
Almost pathetic enough to amuse Khonshu.
He would take great joy in seeing the pretentious Alien be taken down.
Perhaps he could command Marc to offer this one to him, so he could feed on his flesh, he hadn't had an asgardian offering in centuries!

The worm in question was looking around the harbor, completely ignoring his avatar, until his gaze lingered in Khonshu's general direction.
Mhm, perhaps the Asgardians haven't completely lost their touch.

He turned back to watching his Moon Knight, already bored with Odinson's presence.
At the moment Marc was fighting with the Captain, dodging his ridiculous shield while throwing his Crescent darts at the man.
When one embedded itself in the Captain's shoulder, making him drop the Shield, his Avatar dashed forward, knocking him out with a kick in the face.

Khonshu cheered at that, stomping his scepter on the ground and boomed: "ANOTHER ONE MY MOON KNIGHT, CARVE MY SIGILS INTO THEM SO I MAY FEAST ON THEIR FLESH!!!"

"Shut up. I'm not gonna sacrifice people just because you feel like it."

How dare he?!
He was HIS Moon Knight!
He should be following his every command, trusting in his greatness.
Why had his son to be so difficult?

The god stomped his foot on the ground, making the earth boom for even the humans to hear, and exclaimed: "I will not start a discussion on this with you my son. You will follow my command!"

While his Avatar simply showed him a hand symbol that HE KNEW was meant to be insulting and continued fighting, Stark made a snarky comment, labeling his son as 'batshit crazy'.

He calculated the possibility of Marc needing help with the man of metal in his mind and decided the man could just call for him.
He was more curious about the other 3 Avengers that weren't involved in the fight, as well as the whereabouts of the powerful child.

The Asgardian was still staring in his general direction, not seeing but perhaps sensing him.

The archer he spotted perched on top one of the roofs, firing several arrows at his son.
Mhm curious, he hasn't noticed them before.

Suddenly an idea came to his mind, making him chuckle. He had originally wanted Marc to fight these worms on his own, but a little help wouldn't hurt...well at least not Marc.

With a manic crackle he manipulated the human's plane of existence, creating a strong gust of wind which promptly threw the man of the roof.
The man, pathetic as he is, screamed all the way down and groaned when he landed in one of the dumpsters below.

How amusing.

"Now to find the other one hehe..." , the god mumbled as he teleported himself into one of the warehouses, right next to the presence he had felt from outside.

What he saw there though, wasn't the redhead he had expected.
Next to him, clueless to his presence stood another man in a ridiculous costume.
This one was dressed in red with horns on his head.
The god was sure that he wasn't a part of the Avengers.

For the first time in months Khonshu was truly surprised.

[New York, Hell's kitchen harbor, 7 hours after the incident]

"But I need to go back!
There is no need for fighting!
Mr. Moon Knight may look a little intimidating, but he is super nice, I swear!"

"Peter, Peter calm down.
Take a deep breath, then tell me, why did he tell you his name?"

The boy seemed confused, eyebrows furrowing, hands clenching around his mask.
"W-what? I just asked him, that's why he told me!
We did a team up!"

A team up? If the information they had on this gu- on Moon Knight was any good, he wouldn't just have teamed up with another vigilante.
He wouldn't have given his name either.
Natasha got the feeling that they had missed something.

"Peter. Why is he here?
Against whom did you team up, who are the people unconscious on the floor?"

"He was chasing some serial killers!
They met up- they met up here for a weapons deal.
Those are all the people and - WAIT! The two men, the ones in the green jackets!
Omg we need to find them, we-"

She gently shook his shoulders, trying to get him to snap out of it.
"Hey, look at me.
Green jackets? I think I saw them.
Who are they?"

His eyes grew wide.
"Aunt Nat! We need to find them.
Those are the killers! They killed the kids!"

"So Moon Knight didn't?"

"No he- wait what?! Of course not!
He his hunting them down, trying to stop them!
Wait do you- Is this why you came?
I need to stop-"

She held a hand up, stopping him from going back to the fight.
"No. It's dangerous to step into an active fight and if you get hurt, Tony will have my head.
You'll go back to Coulson and wait in the Quinjet, I will go complete the hunt your little Knight started.
Tell Coulson to contact Stark and tell him to stop the fight. They have to know he isn't the actual killer or associated with him."

She could see the teen gulp before he hurriedly put his mask on, nodded and sprinted away.
She blew out a breath before jogging east, these bastards had it coming for them.

---------------

[New York, Hell's kitchen harbor, 7,5 hours after the incident]

He heard her heartbeat get quieter and quieter.
She was heading east, right towards where he had just beat and tied up those 2 men.
When he had found them, hysterically running away from the harbor he had smelled a lot of blood on them, blood that wasn't theirs.
It hadn't been hard to decide what to do with them after that.

Matt was annoyed.
He had know about the weapons deal tonight for several weeks now.
He hadn't wanted anyone to get in his way when he dealt with it.
He especially had wanted to keep Spidey out of it.

But then, on his way to the confirmed location he had heard the unmistakable sound of the kid's web shooters.
At first Matt was sure the kid had been stupid enough to take on a weapons ring by himself, what surprised him was that another man was fighting with him.

Moon Knight...mhm, he liked it.

The guy seemed alright.
He was an efficient fighter, and he seemed to keep an eye out for the kid.
He really hoped that the guy didn't turn out to be some kind of sociopath he had to take down later on.
God knows the kid needs a few more friends to save his ass from time to time.

So, considering that the guy was in his turf without permission, he was actually quite calm.
The thing that really made him want to snap someone's neck was the fact that the fucking Avengers had shown up.
And they apparently decided to beat up Moon Knight for some reason.
Bunch of idiots!

He could hear the humming sound of Stark's Arc Reactor as well as the thrusters of his suit.
From the commanding voice of a man he could guess that the Captain was here too, as well as Hawkeye if the sounds of a bow string being used was anything to go by.
The god, Thor, he identified by his booming voice and Natasha Romanoff by Peter calling her by name.

Only the Hulk seemed to be missing.
Good.
If ONE house was damaged because of these incompetent idiots (minus Natasha, he could respect her, she had some actual skills) he would show them why he was called the devil of Hell's kitchen.

He heard Peter running in the direction, where he knew the Quinjet was.
His heartbeat was fast and his breath uneven.

He jumped down from the roof and directly in his way.
The boy stumbled against him, looking up in confusion before truly recognizing him.
"Double D!"
There was a smile in his voice. It made something warm appear in Matt's chest, to know the kid actually liked him, even as his more brutal persona.

"Kid." , he greeted, "I heard your conversation with the Black Widow. Why are the Avengers HERE?"

Spidey's heartbeat sped up again.
"They're fighting Moon Knight!
But DD, he isn't the killer!
I swear, I heard his heartbeat, he wasn't lying!
I need to get back to Agent Coulson so be can tell d- Tony to stop!"

"Go then. I already took care of the two killers, Romanoff will find them soon. I will go help your friend until you reach the Quinjet."

"Thanks DD!"

With that the teen started sprinting as fast as his legs could take him and Matt turned towards the harbor, not wasting any time to start sprinting as well.

It didn't take long to reach one of the warehouses by the harbor, even if it wasn't as fast as Matt would have liked. He could already hear the noises of fighting and something crashing into...a dumpster?
He started walking towards the exit, determined to finally end this meaningless shit show the Avengers had created in his home but something made him freeze in place.

Matt could feel some kind of presence, something he couldn't explain.
He couldn't hear, feel or smell anyone...but his brain was telling him 'WARNING SOMEONE IS THERE'.
Was this was Spidey experienced all day with his Spider-sense?

He shook his head.
It was probably nothing, and even if it was, he could deal with it later.

Right now the Avengers needed a serious time out.

[New York, Hell's kitchen harbor, 7,5 hours after the incident]

Tony was ready to die then and there.
Not only because of the moon knife throwing lunatic that just had an argument about sacrifices with the fucking air, no.
Mostly because he had to fight said lunatic alone.

Why his team wasn't helping him?
He sure as fuck would like to know.
Sure, Brucie bear wasn't with them and yes, the Captain straight up got knocked out...but the rest?

Thor wasn't reacting to him shouting and asking for some assistance.
Instead, he was staring at fucking nothing, brows furrowed in a way that would suggest he was solving some kind of extra hard puzzle, not daydream in the middle of a fight.

Natasha and Peter had just randomly disappeared.

And Clint?
He, one of the best SHIELD agents out there, the one that convinced the Black Widow to join them, the Archer that never misses, just straight up fell of the fucking roof.

How the fuck were they the last hope of humanity.
Shit.
They were a lost cause, weren't they?

He shot another beam at his opponent, FINALLY hitting him at his shoulder.
But instead of falling to his knees in pain, the motherfucker didn't have a single burn on his suit and continued assaulting him with his crescent darts and fists.

Honestly? Tony was so done.
He just wanted to go home and watch some Star Wars with his kid and relax on the couch.
Instead, be was fighting this ridiculously strong dude in some shitty harbor.

Fantastic.

[New York, Hell's kitchen harbor, 7,5 hours after the incident]

The Captain lay unmoving on the ground, Lady Natasha and the Man of Spiders were nowhere to be found.

He knew that he should help his other shield brothers fight the man in white, but he was distracted, almost held in trance by a powerful presence he felt.

It felt even stronger to Thor than the All-father himself and if that was indeed the case they would soon have bigger problems than a simple man fighting them.

He knew that he wasn't as well versed in sorcery and magic as his dear brother but even he had learned the basics of sensing and locating magical energy.
Despite this, he was still unable to fully grasp the exact location of the entity, only sensing its general whereabouts. So, despite his eyes not seeing anything, his gaze followed the entity around the harbor.

When he felt it move closer to his shield brother Barton he realized it's intend to late, and couldn't stop the man from falling.
Thankfully he had landed in one of earth's trash collector boxes and was spared a painful impact with the hard ground.

Thor could feel a wave of amusement coming from the unknown entity before it's presence suddenly dimmed to nothing.
It had left...

It's departure was so sudden that the god chocked a little from surprise.

He shook his head, now able to think clearly again.
Stark needed his help!

With that he again charged into battle, mysterious entity forgotten for now.
