“Status report on our 084?” Fury asked Hill.
“She’s still unconscious but her bloodwork came in as far as we can tell she is 100% human.” Hill said.
“Human?” He said surprised. “She fell out of a portal to outer space in the middle of an alien invasion.”
“Stranger things have happened.” Hill said. “Even stranger than the fact that all six avengers including Romanoff and Barton are her soulmates.”
“Let’s keep that off the record.” Fury said.
“Of course.” She said.
“Sir she’s awake.” The nurse said. “And she’s asking for an MRI or CT.”
“She is?” Hill said surprised.
“She said…” the nurse said still confused. “She said she’s seeing things she shouldn’t be able to see.”
Fury and Hill exchanged looks.
“If she is their…” Hill started and Fury immediately understood.
“Any injuries?” Fury asked.
“As far as I can tell she’s fine. A bit hungover and bruised…” The agent said.
“Hungover?” Fury said surprised.
“Yes apparently she was at a bar or drinking on a roof in Los Angeles when she fell and then woke up here.” The agents said.
“Los Angeles? The one in California?” Fury said.
“I don’t think there’s another one sir.” Hill retorted.
“You’re dismissed agent.” Fury said. “I think we need to have a talk with our new friend.”
“What should we tell them.” Hill said rejecting another call from Romanoff.
“Nothing yet. Not until we know if she’s a threat or not.” Fury said walking out of the room to the staged hospital room. The very same one they had put Steve Rogers in a few weeks prior.
He walked into the room and saw the girl out of bed standing in front of the artwork on the wall just staring at it.
“Fan of art?” He said.
“No I’ve never really had the type of eyes to really appreciate it.” The girl said before turning and staring at Fury and hill wide eyed before she started laughing.
“Something funny?” Fury said not at all amused.
“Okay now I know I’m either dead or I’m being Punk’d. Are there hidden camera hidden around here. Two way mirror?” She asked.
“Miss, you should probably sit down.” Hill said.
“By the way I loved you in How I met your mother but that ending was a total let down.” I said.
“Huh?” Hill asked confused.
“You know us?” Fury asked.
“I don’t know you know you but I know of you.” I said and they both looked at me confused. “You’re Samuel L. Jackson and you’re Cobie Smulders. Though if you’re method acting for a make a wish thing I guess I should call you Nick Fury and Maria Hill.”
“Miss…” Fury asked not knowing he name.
“Hanna, Hanna Marin.” She said.
“Hanna.” He said. “I believe something’s happened to you.”
“I took a bit of a fall, like 20 stories.” I said.
“If you had fallen 20 stories you’d be a stain on the sidewalk.” Hill said.
“Okay then what did happen to me?” She asked confused.
“You fell from a lot higher than 20 stories. Think more like outer space.” Fury said.
“Outer space? Okay that’s it. Who put you up to this? Was is Amy? Theo? It was definitely Theo he’s all into Marvel and DC…” She said. “Very funny Theo. You can come out now.”
“We’re telling you the truth.” Hill said.
“Yeah and next you’re going to tell me you’re here to recruit me for the Avengers initiative.” I said and they froze.
“How do you know about that?” Fury said.
“It’s kind of common knowledge. Pop culture.” I said. “Iron man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black widow and Hawkeye. The Avengers. Earth’s mightiest heroes. Comic book characters now movie characters.”
They both looked at her she was crazy. She sure sounded crazy.
“Miss Marin.” Fury said. “I think there’s something you need to see.”
“Sir is that really a good idea?” Hill asked.
“It’ll go faster is she actually takes us seriously and seeing is believing.” Fury said.
“If you’re going to show me a video or movie you should know I have seen the entire infinity saga.” She said.
“No I think some fresh air will do you some good.” Fury said leading her out.
