A plan.
“If we use the leg ship, we’ll just be asking for White to attack.”
Lapis slouched on the couch next to Connie who was packing necessities in a large bag. “It’s our only way of getting to Homeworld. Not to mention, we have no other ship.” Amethyst sloppily chomped on chips, grossing out Pearl from how much of a slob she was at times. “Lapis is right, if we’re going to go to Homeworld we need a more discreet way than to use a diamond ship.” The only problem with that was they had no way of retrieving a ship.
“Couldn’t we have Bis do it then?” Bismuth turned to look at Amethyst. It wasn’t a bad suggestion. “I could build a ship. We have no materials to build a ship, however.” The purple gem rolled her eyes and continued eating her chips. “Of course.” She muttered. “My concerns are mostly about Steven. Is he gonna be okay coming with us?” Peridot looked towards Steven, who was slowly making his way down the stairs with his bags packed. Connie brought him a cane to help with his movement. “Me and Connie could technically just stay fused as Stevonnie for the time being. We’re still stable, even with my cracked gem.” It was an intriguing dilemma. Most cases cracked gems cause broken and unstable fusions. The only broken aspect of Stevonnie was that they were more sensitive to damage. “You might not be as stable as you think.” Garnet crouched down to Steven’s level, putting a hand on his shoulder. “With a cracked gem, there’s always something unstable about a fusion. You may not know it yet but trust me.” She paused for a moment. “Just make sure you aren’t in a predicament.” Pearl cleared her throat, everyone’s eyes snapping back at her. “What are we going to do about getting to Homeworld though?” Steven had a bit of a eureka moment, his face lighting up. “We could ask Lars for a ride!” Except Lion was out of commission. “We would need to snap Lion out of whatever state he’s in then. But if she did it the way she did to Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst..” Amethyst tilted her head. “Lion is an animal.. I doubt that White could do that to a creature that doesn’t even have a gem.”
And that’s when it clicked in Connie’s mind. “Because she didn’t! There had to have been technology used to control Lion. If we beat Jasper..”
“We’ll get Lion back.” Steven finished Connie’s sentence; his lips curled into a smile. “How would we even find Jasper?” Peridot was pessimistic about the whole idea. “I’ll lure him in.” Lapis chimed in with a straight face. Everyone turned to look at her with an unsure face. Lapis’ trauma with Jasper is well-known to the gems. For Lapis to face Jasper would be a lot, and they wouldn’t know how either would react. “Lapis.. you don’t have to- “
“Its fine.” The blue-haired gem stopped Steven’s sentence. Healing from trauma sometimes meant you had to stare it in the face. “I need to do it.”

Rose, Blue, and Yellow stood in front of many rebels. Pearl’s who snuck off from their owners, Demantoids who scurried from their work. Then there were fusions, piles of them. Opals, Sphenes, Bloodstones. “Are these truly how many gems are unhappy with us?” Yellow whispered to the pink and blue gem. “We’re horrible..” Blue put her head down in shame. Rose flashed a reassuring smile to Yellow and Blue before stepping out to the group of rebels. “Alright, listen up. As far as White Diamond knows.. we’re here to discuss a ‘gala.’ We have quartzes on standby outside incase she comes.” The crowd of gems nodded a majority of them nervous to even be standing in front of her.
“To clear a few things up..” Rose started her sentence, crossing her arms. “I was never shattered.” There were scattered gasps from some gems, mostly gems from her own court. “I faked my own shattering by asking my second Pearl to shapeshift into Rose Quartz and poof me with my sword. I’m aware I’ve caused a lot of suffering.. and I’m aware of how stupid my decision was. Considering it never brought us closer to my original goal of freeing you all from White Diamond’s tyranny.”
Her eyebrows burrowed, her expression becoming more serious. “But now, the era has come that we change the rules. My status.. your statuses.. None of it will ever exist after this. Anyone can and will become whoever they want. No one should stand in the way of anyone’s happiness. This rebellion will be different!” She raised her fist in the air, the crowd raising theirs to agree with Rose. Yellow held Blue, both of them smiling at Rose.
“This is definitely going to be interesting to watch.”
