Powerhungry.
Jasper was one of the only people who hadn’t been told what was going on about the rebellion. Though she knew something was going on from gems whispering to each other. “My Diamond..” She looked up to White, doing the diamond salute. “I’m sorry to bother you, but may I ask if something’s going on?”
“Excuse me?” White was obviously taken aback by the question. “No- not like that… There’re multiple gems whispering to each other about things. Like Pearl’s whispering to the quartzes or sapphires whispering to the demantoids.” These were the undercover rebels informing the other undercovers about the plans for how the rebellion would go down. “Is that so? Figure out what’s going on then. I’ve only heard about Pink throwing a gala.” And so, Jasper had her orders.
She marched out of Whites ship, returning to the halls of Homeworld. Dusty was walking with blueprints in her hands, prints for weapons and defense units for the Bismuths to craft in regard to the upcoming war. Jasper was fully aware that Dusty was ‘Rose’s pearl’ but got a clever idea to interrogate her. Jasper ran up to Dusty and grabbed her. “Wh- What are you doing?!” Before the Quartz soldiers even had time to react, Jasper dashed away to the ship units. “Let me go!” Dusty was struggling to get out of the grasp of the quartz.
The orange gem jumped in a random ruby ship and set a course to Earth. “Are you crazy!? You basically just kidnapped a Diamond’s pearl?”
“On my part, bad thinking. But what’s going on? There are gems everywhere that are whispering to each other and its completely inappropriate.” Dusty sighed and crossed her arms. “If your diamond didn’t inform you then its none of your concern. Now return me to Homeworld at once.” Suddenly, it hit Jasper. Pink throwing a gala. Pink throwing a revolution. A rebellion. “She’s starting a war, isn’t she?” The gems tone was quiet. “What? How did you get to that conclusion?”
“I’m not losing my diamond again. I refuse to. Your gonna help me stop this war whenever you like it or not.” Jasper increased the ship’s speed to maximum light speed. “This is the crystal gems fault. They’re gonna take her away from me again.” Dusty side eyed Jasper. “Away from you?” Jasper stared out the window, they were already on Earth. The orange gem changed the coordinates to the Temple. “I’m gonna shatter each and every one of those clods. They’re the cause of this. Pink Diamond doesn’t know how much Homeworld means to her.. she’s too busy trying to save this stupid planet!”
She slammed her fist into the wall of the ship. Dusty was staring at Jasper, watching her lose it. “You’re going insane.”
“I’m not insane! Your gonna help me defeat the Crystal gems.” The quartz reached out to grab the Pearl. In defense, Dusty summoned a bladed war fan and sliced at Jasper. The quartzes lips curled into a wicked smile. “Interesting.. You’re an era 1 Pearl, aren’t you?”
“The era I was created has nothing to do with this. I’m not sure what your obsession with our diamond is about… but its creepy. You are nothing but a Quartz soldier made to protect her. You cannot force her to stop the war.” The light blue skies and fluffy clouds of Earth were present in the windows. Jaspers smirk was still glued onto her face.
“You’re like Lapis… powerful… We could be more powerful together. You and I both know this rebellion will end up in more gems being shattered. Innocent lives being sacrificed for a planet that doesn’t even matter. In the end, White Diamond is gonna destroy it anyways.”
“She’ll make sure that won’t happen.” Dusty swung at Jasper again, hitting her in the neck. A groan emerged from the orange gem, then she summoned her helmet. “You’re gonna wish you hadn’t have done that.” The quartz punched the pearl in the face, and in response Dusty kicked Jasper in the face. The ship landed in front of the temple, which caught the attention of Peridot.
Prior to the situation at hand, the Leg ship had suddenly started itself and went off into space. The Crystal Gems were discussing it while also going over possible blueprints they could use for their own ship so they could get to Homeworld. Peridot was staring blankly out the window when her expression changed to fear. “Guys- Ruby ship outside!” She pointed out the window, which then everyone looked at each other and summoned their weapons (apart from Steven.) They rushed outside to see Jasper clinging onto Dusty, they were puzzled. “Fuse with me. We could be so much powerful together..”
“Your obsession for power is unhealthy! And fusion is forbidden by Homeworld, if our diamond figures out that we fused- no, if the diamonds figure out you forced me to fuse with you your status would be obsolete. In fact, they’d shatter you!” Lapis stared at the scene. Memories rushing back to her.
“Lapis, listen, fuse with me!”
“How long did they keep you trapped her on this miserable hunk of a rock?”
“These gems, they’re traitors to their Homeworld. They kept you prisoner. They used you. This is your chance to take revenge! Come on, just say yes.”
It was like she was experiencing it again, except it wasn’t happening to her. Dusty reached a handout to the group of gems. “Help me, please!” However, this act enraged Jasper. “Those clods won’t help you like I can! They’re weak, relying on fusion just to beat their enemy. But me and you…” Dusty had managed to slip out of her grasp, attempting to run to the gems before getting grabbed by the waist by Jasper.
“I'm done being everyone's prisoner. Now you're my prisoner! And I'm never letting you go!”
Lapis backed away in fear, she was frozen. “We’re powerful by ourselves… but together, we can rule all the quartz soldiers. Such a powerful pearl, fused with the perfect quartz..” Jasper trailed off. Her wicked smirk appearing once again.
“We’ll be unstoppable.”
